    BetterHelp

    They really do care

    • Length of Use: 3–6 months
    Overall Experience:

I have been doing therapy with BetterHelp for three months and I am very happy with my experience. I was given a free week to try it out. When I wasn’t able to schedule a live session with my counselor within that first week, they extended my free trial until after my first session just to make sure I could get what I needed.

They also have financial aid, which is the only way I could afford therapy due to being out of work because of COVID.

I was with my first counselor for the first two months. While she was helpful, I was still not feeling like I was benefiting from our sessions. I switched counselors and I am very happy with my new counselor. We have already made a lot of progress in a short amount of time and we click better. She is available for messaging in between sessions and always responds in a timely manner. BetterHelp makes it very easy to switch counselors and has an in-depth screening to find the best match for you and what you need.

They also have groupinars for many different subjects ranging from depression/communication/self-esteem, etc. that have been helpful for me as well. It’s like group therapy and you get to experience different counselors with them as well.

I highly recommend BetterHelp for anybody that is new to therapy and/or especially if you can’t get to an in-person therapist or has issues with the cost. BetterHelp makes it pretty impossible to have no excuse to not get the help you need.

    Pros and Cons:

    • Access to my counselor in between sessions
    • Groupinars
    • Financial aid
    • Ease of transition to a new counselor
    • I wanna take my counselor with me when I move out of state!

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
