    I have received a full refund from BetterHelp after a week of complaints. However, I would still not recommend this service.

    Company is a scam

    I canceled my subscription to BetterHelp after 6 weeks. I was charged twice ($288/month) and never received anything. I specifically requested a counselor trained in EMDR therapy to treat PTSD. I was matched with a counselor (Erin J) who said she was trained in EMDR, but every time we scheduled a session, she would postpone, or cancel, or give me a half-hour session of useless talk therapy. I complained to customer support (which is VERY slow to respond - there is no phone number or online chat, just an email address), they offered me one week free, which did no good, because the next week my counselor DUMPED me and told me to find someone else! After complaining yet again to customer service, and waiting a full day for a reply, they curtly told me there were no other counselors available with EMDR training. I had no choice but to cancel my subscription and file a dispute with my credit card company for a full refund of both of my payments.

    This website was a scam. I received no value whatsoever from 6 weeks at BetterHelp. Being treated so coldly by a so-called counselor, not to mention waiting 24 hours to get a response every time I contact customer service, made my emotional state WORSE than when I started! Shame on a company for treating emotionally vulnerable people like this.
