I first heard about BetterHelp on NPR (public radio) and was intrigued because I knew I needed to find a personal therapist after marriage counseling was not proving effective. I hunted for one via what I felt were all the conventional routes — referrals, the Psychology Today therapist website, online websites, local groups and practitioners, etc. I was having no luck and was about to give up when I remembered BetterHelp (which was cropping up everywhere). I was dubious because I assumed it was just a commercial aggregator of not-as-qualified therapists. But I was so wrong. BetterHelp has therapist matching down to a science, and even though I had to wait a little (demand is huge now across the US), I was pleasantly surprised when I was matched with the best therapist I have ever had. She is highly skilled and unbelievably helpful. I was a mess during our first session and she stuck with me so I wouldn't be scared off. I'm so happy I came back for a second session and gave it a chance because she is wonderful. I only wish sessions were longer! If you are considering therapy, do give BetterHelp a call or email. They make everything so easy and unintimidating. They DO have it down to a science.
Pros and Cons:
Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
