I tried out Noom for a couple of months before deciding it wasn't working out for me. They tout how well the psychology works for reaching your goals, which for most people I saw using it is losing weight. It didn't help. It relies a lot on your motivation and ability to set goals, but I was using this because I wanted to be told how to lose the weight I wanted to lose, and I thought as a fitness program it would do that. The only thing it pushes for is food moderation through calorie counting and meeting your step goals from what I saw. I had been counting calories on my own, but needed good motivation to continue doing it strictly, and this didn't do that. I also wanted to be pushed to exercise or do additional things to improve my health, but this didn't do that.
Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend
