Copper toxicity

By Erika, Plumas, CA, Verified Reviewer

Does everything as advertised. But beware if you have had a kidney transplant or the like, as the excess copper can make you very ill and effect you lymph glands. A lot of people don't consider this, as I didn't. But if you're healthy, this is a great product.

Recipes in Cookbook

By Vicki Johnson, Brainerd, MN, Verified Reviewer

The recipes in Eric Theiss "All Around Cooking" cookbook are not exact. I tried making the Mac & Cheese, which did not turn out. The Macaroni was crunchy and somewhat burnt in the bottom of the pan because of the cream, not enough water. Had to guess when it should be done. NOT A GOOD RECIPE. Threw it out. My granddaughter, who is 13, just about lives on Mac & Cheese, said it was disgusting, wouldn't eat it. It was like paste.

I like the pan but the recipes are not real accurate. The liquid was disappearing before the macaroni could get done.

The pan does not fry

By Joy, Moraine, Ohio, Verified Reviewer

During Christmas dinner, while frying chicken wings, it did not heat up enough to cook, and eight pieces of chicken wings took me 45 minutes to fry. The chicken wings were not done, so I gave up and used my old pan, which I had for 15 years.

It does NOT heat oil to the temperature of 350 degrees at all, and I tried for an hour. Don't buy the pan if you're going to fry. I had a fit about this pan during our Christmas meal, and I give it a big fat 0.

Copper Chef fried chicken

By Robin, Lexington, KY, Verified Reviewer

I received Copper Chef as a gift. I did fried chicken for the first time on a brand new smooth cooktop and the outside "copper" coating melted and scraped onto my cooktop. I was very surprised and disappointed. It cooked well, but I don't trust the product.

Sadly disappointed

By Rashid J Pinckney, Elmont, New York, Verified Reviewer

Hello, I am a father of two that enjoys cooking for my children. When I first saw the Copper Chef pan, I was very excited. It lived up to the bill for about three months, and now it is as bad as the other pans out there. Food sticks to the pan, there is smoke everywhere when you fry bacon, and it is a nightmare to clean. I was excited to see the expansion with the 12-inch pan and the deep frying pan. But now I am grateful that I did not make those purchases.

So disappointed

By Patricia Wilder, Trinity, TX, Verified Reviewer

I have treated this pan on several instances. Never has it been an "eggs sliding" experience EVER. I even bought the lid to this square pan. I have read other reviews where people were extremely satisfied. Just wondering if a bad batch was made? I would never recommend this product to anyone. I had eggs tonight, and this pan is still soaking. Terribly sad product.

Don't buy!

By Harry Piels, Bethlehem, PA, Verified Reviewer

The Copper Chef products do not work as advertised. It's a shame Americans are subjected to many companies like this that just fail to deliver the performance advertised. I'm surprised the company hasn't been hauled into court over this. I've seen comments that these pans are just painted aluminum, not copper. One ad shows the cook gleefully rolling eggs out of a pan and on to a plate. Ha!

I got one that after a week's use is stained, and I'm wondering what to do since these are not copper. I'm thinking the garbage will be the solution. Just think of all those pans being thrown out. They'll be around for a thousand years. So they are an environmental problem as well as a waste of your money. Sad!

Very disappointed

By Linda, Minnesota, Verified Reviewer

I didn't have it a week, and it scratched. I didn't even use a metal utensil in it, and everything sticks. I wouldn't recommend it; it isn't worth the money I paid. I know of at least three other people who have bought them and have found they stick also and they are not satisfied with it either. I bought mine from Walmart. I am very dissatisfied, and the bottom is hard to keep clean.

Very unhappy

By Donna Hunt, Texas, Verified Reviewer

I purchased three of the XL pan sets from QVC in December for myself and my children. The first couple useses we all raved about the pan. Now we don't even use it. They all stick. I can't cook even a grilled cheese or fried potatoes. I would NOT buy another Copper Chef product and wish I had checked them out first.

Terrible warranty

By Joel S Kaufman, Fairfax, VA, Verified Reviewer

I purchased my Cooper Chef set in May 2016. In September 2017, it formed black spots that would not come clean which in turn compromised the integrity of the pan, no longer allowing it to be stick free. I hand wash all my pots and pans. Cooper Chef would replace it if I mailed it back and paid for S&H, which when all is said and done, I could replace it locally for cheaper. Cooper Chef refused to send me a new one without me jumping through hoops.

Sucks

By Donna Wright, Upper Marlboro, MD, Verified Reviewer

After a couple of uses, the pan has a few scratches and everything now sticks and burns. I ordered another because I thought maybe I was not careful enough so, like a dummy, I ordered another and once again after a couple uses, the same problem. I've never been so disappointed.
