Poor customer service

By Lynda, Adams County, Ohio, Verified Reviewer

Impressed with their show and tell, I ordered two sets of Copper Chef for my daughters, who then told me about their friend's experience with the product. Two days after I placed the order, I sent them an email to cancel it. Five days after that, I received an email from them informing me of the shipping date, so upon delivery, both my time and money was used to return product. I called yesterday to confirm the credit, only to be told the items were not received. In turn, I informed them that UPS confirmed delivery of January 28. At that time, I was told my credit would be processed promptly, with an email to confirm. I have yet to see it.

Poor service, they don't believe in communication.

By James Rulison, Rochester, NY, Verified Reviewer

I placed an order and did receive a confirmation. I waited 9 days and never heard a word. I tried to chat but no one even answered. I then called and was told it would be 3-4 weeks before it would ship because it is on back order. The foreign agent that I could barely understand (although polite) said he could not give a ship date. I asked him to cancel which was no problem, I think. He said they would not send out an order cancelation notice and the only way to verify that it has been canceled is to call back. Eric Theiss has his endorsement all over it, which is one of the reasons why I bought it. I won't be buying anything with his name on it again, here or on QVC. Hard to believe in this day of easy communication that they can't even let you know it is back ordered or that you have canceled the order. There are too many good companies to work with and that care about customers -- this apparently is not one of them.

Copper Chef Square Pan

By Pamela Alksne, California, Verified Reviewer

I bought two pans, one for me and the other for gifting.

I used mine for a few months. I noticed the first time I used it there appeared to be a raised area in the center. I called and was told that it was normal.

After using it a few more times, it became difficult to clean, as everything sticks. There is no way you can cook without oils or butter, which was the reason I purchased this pan in the first place. It is certainly not as advertised.

I called today and was informed that I needed to send a check for $14.99, along with the defective pan, to cover shipping it back. Now this pan has cost me over $100, which is excessive. I haven't decided if I will return it or just cut my losses and throw it away. If the replacement ends up having the same issue, I will incur more expenses.

I order from QVC as well as HSN, and I plan on notifying them of my unfortunate situation, so all their customers are aware.

Followed directions as stated and it did not come out as stated.

By Lisa Gonzales, Santa Barbara, CA, Verified Reviewer

Cooked a rib eye. Said to sear for a certain amount of minutes and then into the oven. Did exactly as it stated, but was over cooked. Appears the searing was too long. Good thing when it came time to wash it did wipe clean.

Fish frying - fish is sticking to the dip tray and having to be torn apart to get it out. Issue?

Where is this manufactured? Nothing stamped on the pan.

By Diane, Denver, PA, Verified Reviewer

Can anyone tell me where in what Country or State is this pan is manufactured? There is nothing stamped on the pans, lid or in the literature. I thought all products had to supply the origin of manufacture.

My husband tried to heat a hash brown in the skillet without oil on very low heat. It left a sticky residue all around the outer area of the pan and was very difficult to remove. Can't really give a good review yet since I haven't used the larger pan.

Not as seen on TV

By Pastor Noel Benoist D.D., Apache Junction, AZ, Verified Reviewer

I sent everything back and submitted MY drawings, protected by copy rights, and showing everything needed for fixing their problem. High center makes everything slid to the four sides and corners, which do not heat with the same heat as the center. The outfit has not contacted me to make a fix-it deal that would make the product great and do what the TV howling claims. Until then, save your money! Both of these, large and small, are not as seen on TV when it comes to performance. I got a small one direct from Copper Chef and the large one from HSN. No more!

Copper Chef Pan

By John Morris, Bassett, VA, Verified Reviewer

This item was order on 7/18/16 yet it was shipped to the wrong address. It was then returned to the company. I spoke with customer service today and they said they would send it to me via FedEX. Now it shows that my order had been canceled. When do I get my refund? I have never had this much trouble with a company in all of my 87 years of ordering!

Gradual failure

By Gale, Charleston, TN, Verified Reviewer

This product was great at first. I was careful to use it as directed and was happy with the non-stick results. I used it almost every day. However, now after about 2 months of use, everything sticks. If any liquid is added to the pan, it will burn to a black layer that requires soaking to clean. The wipe-clean with an easy swipe (as advertised) didn't last.

I'm so disappointed with the pan. It still looks great, cooks evenly, but the loss of the non-stickability makes me regret my purchase.

Beware!

By Diane Peacher, Rosewood Heights, IL, Verified Reviewer

I purchased the square Copper Chef pan almost a year ago after seeing commercials of what was supposedly a wonderful pan.

The first time I used it on the stove as I was stirring, I realized it was very awkward stirring in a round circular motion into a square pan because the corners we're not getting stirred, so you have to stir in a square motion which is not natural. Aside from that, everything seemed to be fine at first. But it is not "non-stick" as they claim to be.

Food did not just slide out of the pan as the commercial shows. However, at first, it was fairly easy to clean up. But after using it as a fryer, grease residue has stuck to the top half of the pan and will not come out. I have tried everything. The only way I was able to remove a little bit of the fried on grease or baked-on grease was to use the side of a butter knife, which appeared to start scratching the surface of the pan, so I stopped. The outside of the pan looks like I've had it for many many many years and it is not an attractive pan at all.

I called customer service twice and spoke to two different representatives with heavy accents which were hard to understand, but they also really didn't care what I did with the pan. The first call the man said he would send me an email with information to send it back and they would replace it. However, that leaves me without a pan for almost three weeks, and the shipping cost is almost $15 to send it, and that is at my expense since they do not refund the shipping. It will cost me money to have the pen replaced.

So the commercial is not true when they say that they will replace it absolutely free. I will also be posting my reviews on other websites that will allow me to post the pictures so people can actually see what this pan looks like after minimal use. I gave my review two stars, but after talking to customer service, I should have reduced it to a one-star.
