Tried to order

By James Mitchell, Nevada, Verified Reviewer

I ordered the middle set online. Things did not go well. At least I was not charged for their incompetence. I ordered the set and tried to find out when it would be delivered. I didn't have a confirmation by email the next day so I called the toll free line. They were rude and said it could be several days until they received the order and to just call back then. I demanded to speak to a supervisor. The process so far took 40 minutes. It was another 20 minutes wait on hold to speak to someone else. They could not find an order and reiterated that it could take several days to reach their 'system'. Long story short, I hung up and called my bank and made sure that the item was disputed. The order never showed up in their system.

At best they don't have a very well run business. At worst, it's a scam.

pieces missing,

By Marlene Yeomans, southbury, CT, Verified Reviewer

I received pan yesterday. Box looked like it had been opened and retaped shut. It has warranty, recipe book, and an instruction manual. Plastic covering of the pan looked like it had been opened and scotched taped closed around the handle. I have been trying all yesterday and today to get answers to my multiples emails to no avail. I should have read customer reviews prior to purchasing item. They don't even have a toll free number to call. One person returned it via certified mail and still hasn't received a credit, the company claims it has not been received (CERTIFIED). Please, buyer beware, really beware. Lousy company to do business with I guess!

Where's the rest of my pan?

By Nick St John, Madison, CT, Verified Reviewer

Seriously: I'm missing half of my pan! This just arrived today and I can say unequivocally that this pan is NOT the same size as the one on TV. It's a nice pan but it should be half the cost if it's half the size. You will not be able to cook a pie for 16 or make a dozen breakfast sandwiches at one time in this. Not even close. This is a dishonest deal and I haven't, yet, decided whether to return the pan or not, but I'm definitely not happy. Buyer Beware!

Scam

By Jimmy Allen , Georgia, Verified Reviewer

I will not buy another piece of merchandise from Copper Chef. It's a scam. I purchased my Copper Chef one day, found the same ad for $15 less the next day. Same website. Pan is of poor quality. Trust me, outside finish scratches so easy that it's unbelievable. Don't waste your money.

Very Unhappy - Are Coatings Safe?

By Chris, Florida, Verified Reviewer

I am throwing away the $60 Copper Chef square pan I bought 5 months ago. I have experienced uneven cooking due to the concave shape of the bottom, foods are sticking and the "copper" bottom has begun to wear off, exposing aluminum.

I also wonder if it's safe to eat foods heated on Copper Chef's "Cerami-Tech" coating over time since the other features wore off so early.

Dishonest Advertising

By Phyllis O. Delgado, Long Beach,ca, Verified Reviewer

I am returning the Copper Chef I ordered, but they would not dismiss the $14.95 shipping charge (besides the cost of returning).

The TV commercial never mentions the fact that you cannot use extra virgin olive oil. You can only use peanut oil, vegetable oil or a special type of olive oil. I cannot use any of these oils. They agreed to the return, yet are not able to override the shipping charges. Not a good company to deal with, and I could barely understand the CSR, due to their heavy Eastern accent.

Thought This Was A Really Good Deal. I Was Wrong!

By Linda Belinski, Blanchard, OK, Verified Reviewer

I bought 3 of these pans a couple of months ago, 1 for me and the others as Christmas presents. Tried mine out for the first time a couple of weeks ago. Made popcorn, but after making it I noticed copper colored powder on my stove (I have a glass top). Apparently, when I shook the pan it rubbed against the stove and the coating started coming off! Now I'm afraid if it comes off that easily on the outside will it come off on my food on the inside.

From reading the other reviews looks like it's not worth contacting Customer Service or sending them back. Should have checked the reviews before buying. Shame on me!

Disappointed

By Judi Good, Coeur d Alene, ID, Verified Reviewer

I bought the pan about 2 months ago and for the first month everything was fine. Then things started sticking, and by now an egg is stuck so badly in breaks the yolk when trying to remove it from the pan. Every thing that is cooked leaves a mess to remove and needs soaking like any other pan. I would suggest people just buy a regular Teflon frying pan for a few dollars and toss it when it stops working.

Don't waste your money people

By David Grubb, Raleigh, NC, Verified Reviewer

If you see a good review about this pan, they were likely paid by the seller to write it. The pan did not last a month before it started sticking, just like the cheap ones you can buy for 10 bucks at Walmart. Now it is useless except for boiling water. Plus, their return policy requires you to pay 10 bucks for shipping it back, and another 15 bucks for unknown handling fees.

Just save your money and buy a Walmart cheap pan and throw it away after it starts sticking. You will come out way ahead and save money in the long run.

I hate that I did not research the reviews here before purchasing. My bad.

Almost everyone here gives them a bad review. If anyone knows of a really good non-stick pan that does last a while, I would love to hear about it.

Else, I will just continue to buy the cheap ones every few months at Walmart or Amazon.

Copper Chef Pan.

By Bob, Ohio, Verified Reviewer

This company must be B.S. I tried chatting with them on the website to find out how many quarts the pan is. They won't tell you. Just that it is 9 1/2 inches. He said he can't provide false information. He said as long as the food fits in pan you can cook it, well duh who sells a pan and can't tell you how big it is. Glad i didn't buy this.

  • [21:36] Thank you for visiting chat! We will be with you shortly.
  • [21:37] Larry: how many quarts is the pan
  • [21:37] Chris: One moment please.
  • [21:40] Chris: We only have the square weighs which is 1.93lb and the square size of 9 1/2" for Copper Chef
  • [21:40] Chris: We do not have information about the quarts.
  • [21:40] Larry: why not?
  • [21:41] Larry: how do you sell a pan and not know how many quarts it holds?
  • [21:43] Chris: You can cook your food as long as it will fit on the Copper Chef. We do not have the exact information about how many quarts  the pan can hold, we do not want to provide you with any false information.
  • [21:44] Chris: Is there anything else I can assist you with?
  • [21:45] Larry: I have never heard of that. Any pan I have ever bought, single or as a set tells me what's included. Like a 2 qt pan, 3 qt pan, 5 qt dutch oven, etc.

Never got them

By DL, Florida, Verified Reviewer

It's impossible to review pans that you have ordered twice, but never received.

First time I ordered on April 24. On May 5, I finally contacted CS to find out why I had yet to receive the email informing me that my order had shipped, only to find out that they canceled my order on Aprirl 25, and just never bothered to inform me. When I asked the reason why they canceled it, their answer was "it looked like their was a possible duplicate order." So I'm thinking ok, benefit of the doubt, it was a safety precaution. Fine.

CS told me to go back online and reorder and she gave me a promo code that gave me 25% off as an apology for the inconvenience. Great! I had ordered the 12 pc. set and the code made it a really good deal. I was happy to reorder.

Today, May 14, I once again contacted them to find out why I hadn't gotten that follow up email again, and was once again told that my order had been canceled the same day. When I asked why this time, the answer was "hmmm, we don't show any reason other than that upon account review, your order was cancelled."

Me: That's ridiculous, my credit is excellent.

CS: Sorry for the inconvenience (deja vu) but I can place the order for you again now and give you a great discount.

Me: What discount is that?

CS: I will give you the 12 pc. set you wanted, normally $149, for only $140.

Me: (laughing) No you won't! I'm looking at the confirmation email right in front from the LAST time I reordered, that shows I paid $112 for that 12 pc. set, and I'm not giving you a penny more.

CS: Wait ma'am, let me finish, I'm not done. Once you receive your products, I will give you another $30 back.

Me: Nope, sounds fishy to me. Since it's like pulling teeth to get you to send me the pans, I can only imagine how hard it would be to get you to send me my $30! You need to honor the last offer of $112.

CS: I'm sorry ma'am, I'm not authorized to do that.

Me: Then give me to someone who is.

CS: No one will be authorized to do that ma'am.

Me: Then I guess you don't really want to sell your product. You can keep them. Good bye.

End of story.
