Great experience!

After several months of considering a membership with Flaviar, I finally made the decision to join. The multitude of good reviews helped to sway me. I received my first shipment and I am very pleased. Going to ABS stores to select a good bourbon can be very frustrating. With this membership, I now received the guidance I need to make good selections. Their customer service is top quality. I had a question about my membership and I received an email response the next day and then they followed up to make sure they had answered my question to my satisfaction. I love all the benefits of this membership.

Good way to try new spirits

Good value spirits subscription service. Has a slick website interface, and friendly customer service.

Would be good to be able to see before subscribing the premium bottles you can order for free as part of the subscription, but otherwise a transparent and nice to use service.

Would recommend to others!

Great customer service, fantastic selection.

I got a subscription as a present, and found the tasting boxes are phenomenal. They led me to get even more bottles, and their flavor profiles helped me find even more to try.

On the few occasions shipments were damaged or incorrect, customer service has always made things right the best they could.

I renewed my membership when it expired, and I would happily do it again. It's been worth every penny.

Best customer service ever!

I am currently on my second year of membership and I love everything about Flaviar! I use the tutorials to educate myself and have learned enough about spirits to hold my own conversationally at tastings. I have not had many service-related issues but when I have, the customer service is unmatched.

Great gift, great service

Flaviar is a hip, cool gift for Whiskey lovers with responsive customer service. My husband liked the quality, the packaging, the app, etc. It did feel slightly confusing as to what package or membership type he had and what the exact benefits were.

I suppose my only doubt is if it makes financial sense as you only get the benefits quarterly (tasting box and bottle) it would be nice to get something monthly, a tasting box (without coaster each time for example). I know it has free shipping but there is still a margin. Or offer a discount bottle each month, let new Whiskey brands try to get fans by offering it very cheap to an exclusive crowd.

Just don’t

My honest experience? Ok, here we go. I ordered off of Flaviar to try something new and different. I ordered something and 3 weeks later it came in. I subscribed and got my Welcome Box within a week of placing my order, however, the item that I actually wanted did not come until 3 weeks later. No shipping email until 5 days before the item was delivered. Click the link to check the shipment process, NOTHING. Still sitting in the warehouse in CA. Then all of a sudden the item was being processed by my local courier and is out for delivery that day. Luckily I was home as it needed a signature. So at least I thought it did. Fast forward to delivery day, I get a knock on my door by a delivery driver not wearing a mask. Simply hands me the package and walks away. No ID or signature were needed...I reached out to Flaviar on Twitter as I needed this item for a weekend prior. Twitter Help tells me to reach out to customer service, so I do. My customer service agent was very polite and understanding of the frustration I had.

Just an awful experience all around and Flaviar has some things they need to work out before I even consider using them again. Could have just gone down the street to my local liquor store and gotten it there, just figured I’d try something different and support other business.

Length of Use: Less than 3 months

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Kristen from Customer Service is the best

I have been a member for almost 6 months. Whenever I had a question or problem, Kristen was able to answer my questions and/or resolve my problem expeditiously. She immediately answers my email inquiries. I recently had a problem with my quarterly order and Kristen resolved the problem to my satisfaction that very same afternoon! Kristen is an outstanding customer service representative. With her assistance, I ordered Glen Grant Scotch.

Absolutely terrible

My wife gave me this as a gift for Xmas. She thought it was a great gift until we tried ordering. Lots of times they were out of stock. Then as time went on as a military family we had to move. Well as it turns out they don’t ship to Texas. We tried to resolve this by asking for a refund and the emails eventually would get a response of "we'll just send it to someone in a state we can ship to". Ummmm, I don’t want to do that, I would prefer to just have the remaining monies refunded, to which they simply ignored the multiple emails. If I could give them less than one star I would. Do not use this service, it’s not worth it, go support your local liquor store.

Length of Use: 3–6 months

Excellent

I enjoy being adventurous with my tastes, so finding websites offering diversity always catch my attention. Among the number of retailers I have purchased samples from, Flaviar has been the most impressive.

So far I have tried a number of the tasting packs offered, all left me suitably impressed. Tasting packs provide a generous sample of five different spirits, chosen to offer a full contrast of flavors. Each set is bottled and packaged attractively. Provided leaflets offer in-depth tasting notes, background information and a little extra for the 'geeks at heart'. I believe they are designed to be shared, not that I do this.

I've had no bad experiences with the retailer, delivery times have been reasonable. Customer service has been prompt, polite and always has a personal feel to dialogue. Overall, would recommend.
