I wish they lived up to their hype

By Nancy Murphy, Bradenton, FL, Verified Reviewer

I've had three Gotham Steel pans, and two of them have been a BUST! After just a few uses, things started sticking to the two 9" pans I've had, including eggs, hamburgers, etc.

Sadly I would not recommend this product to others. I can't even get in touch with management to find out if this could be fixed!

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Don't waste your money!

By Vickie Townsend, Tennessee, Verified Reviewer

I was excited when I saw this advertised and went out and bought a full set. I was very disappointed the first time I used them. They take a long to heat up and boil water and my food sticks. I wish I could post pics (because I have them) of eggs, bacon, burgers, etc. all stuck. What a mess to clean up even after soaking. I am sorry I wasted my money on this "too good to be true" product.

Pan sticking

By Tyrone Cobb, Apopka, FL, Verified Reviewer

The was bought for a store named Bed Bath & Beyond. The price was the same as the TV ad. Two things I notice. If you fry anything that goes above the steel screws, it will stick to the screws. I noticed that meat stick as well. I called customer service to note the issue, and they asked if I was using a glass stove top, I responded yes, she said their product does not work with glass stovetops. I wanted to get a warranty replacement, but she was so rude that I decided to end the conversation. Very disappointed.

9.5 inch pan

By Dale Roussel, Fayette, MI, Verified Reviewer

I purchase 9.5 inch pan months ag. They advertise nonstick, but I have a pan that doesn't come off and still has stains. I tried every way to get these stains off and was unable. They advertised that it doesn't stick if I don't spray with Pam, but it will stick.

Large griddle

By Ruth Taylor, Verified Reviewer

I purchased the large griddle and am very disappointed with this product. It warped the first time I used it. Both the bacon and hamburgers stuck. The pan has discolored and is hard to clean.

No good

By Sharon Udale, England, Verified Reviewer

The first week was fab, I was so impressed that I threw out my heavy Raymond Blanco Analon Stainless steel pan. What a mistake, because now everything sticks to my new pan, even a simple fried egg is known in our house as a "welded-on" egg. Burgers left a perfect burnt impression that I couldn't scrub off.

Very disappointed

By Elaine Smith, Courtenay, British Columbia, Canada, Verified Reviewer

I was looking forward to this pan and was very disappointed. It worked well for a week and then I noticed things sticking. I never cook on high so cooking an omelet over med heat as seen on TV should not stick, but guess what? It stuck. Ugh. Very sad, and I really don’t have that much money to waste.

Not as advertised

By KenB, New Jersey, Verified Reviewer

I got the 9.5-inch nonstick pan as a Christmas gift. I was very excited to use it after seeing all the infomercials advertising the pan. The first time I used it was to make garlic chicken breast, but I had to use olive oil to get the nice darkened crisp outside. The chicken and the garlic spice stuck to the pan. No big deal, I will soak it in water before cleaning. The second time I was making eggs sunny side up and that turned out to be a disaster. The eggs were very dry and stuck to the pan horribly. The eggs were folding and would not come off the pan.

After only two attempts at using the pan, I was very disappointed. I at least was expecting to see the eggs slide off as in the infomercial. Very misleading! It’s a cheap pan for around $20, but I would still use oil or butter when cooking. The one good thing is the pan doesn’t scratch so you can use a metal spatula. Cleaning still requires soaking in water and scrubbing.

Food sticks so you HAVE to had a tiny bit of oil

By Jul, Florida, Verified Reviewer

OK, so the food does stick without adding any oil, BUT it requires FAR LESS oil that the typical pan requires, so that's why I gave it two stars. However, the company advertised that NO OIL was required, so it is false advertising.

I started out with cooking the onions, and the browning started to stick so I added one tablespoon of olive oil and it helped with making everything UNstick. Cooking went smoothly after that, with no additional oil needed. All the veggies added, including the eggs, cooked without needing more oil. So next time I'll try with one teaspoon of oil instead of one tablespoon. Typically I use about two to three tablespoons of oil when I use a regular non-stick pan, so I would have to say that if Gotham Steel only needs one teaspoon of oil to make everything unstick for the whole meal, then that's an improvement.

Still, it is false advertising saying that no oil is needed.

Gotham does not live up to its claims!

By Albert John Saxby, Haliburton, Ontario, Canada, Verified Reviewer

I bought a small Gotham Steel pan from my local Canadian Tire Store, and for the first couple of weeks it worked fine as promised, food just slipped right out. Within a month though, everything began to stick, even if oil or butter was used. I am very disappointed in this product, which is too bad because if it still worked as well as it originally did, I would be raving about it.

Pans warp

By Sheri Stelkia, Oliver, British Columbia, Canada, Verified Reviewer

I received two Gotham Steel Pans as gifts, and after a few uses, they both warped so don't sit flat on the stove. We do not use high heat with our pans as we own Saladmaster pans and they require a lower heat setting. The smaller one I still use, but the larger one is useless. The non-stick surfaces are great, but they both are unable to heat evenly. The smaller one is over a year old, and the surface is holding up well and is functional despite its warp. The larger one is only nine months old and hasn't been used much.
