Frying pans

By Joseph Lesinsky, Parma, OH, Verified Reviewer

These frying pans do not work like they show in their ads. I use butter in my pan, and everything still sticks. The only way to clean the pan is to soak it or scrape it with a scrapper. They need to stop the false advertising. Their pans do not work as in their ads and I am very disappointed with this product.

Do not buy this product!

By Robert White, Alberta, Canada, Verified Reviewer

Everything you cook will stick to the pan, but it takes time, at least 91 days. The biggest waste of $30 we've ever spent our hard earned money on. We need to use oil so food won't stick and that doesn't always work either. I hope this company goes out of business.

Gotham Steel Pans

By Sheri Vivian, Ontario, Canada, Verified Reviewer

Do not buy! I followed the directions that came with the pans (I bought two, stupid thing to do) and the first time I used them they weren't too bad but after that, everything sticks! It doesn't matter how low I turn the burner, I still have to soak the pans after use. I finally had to start using a non-stick cooking spray in order to use the pans. I would not buy again and would not recommend.

Non-stick? Only for a short time.

By Steve Garone, Boston, MA, Verified Reviewer

I purchased my pan at a warehouse store a few months ago. I wanted to it make omelets, a frequent breakfast for me. I've used it about 20 or so times, and while it showed good non-stick properties at the beginning, lately I find myself making scrambled eggs with my omelet fillings mixed in. I even resorted to an olive oil spray and even straight EVOO, but to no avail. I'm probably going to go out and purchase a pan that actually works.

Bacon Bonanza Pan - nice size but JUNK.

By Suzanne Fairchild, Michigan, Verified Reviewer

I bought the Bacon Bonanza Pan at Walmart about three months ago. I really wanted this to work. It stained the first time I used it, and now the "copper" coating is coming off! I washed it in hot water with dish soap and used a home-made Scrubbie on it (I use this "Scrubbie" with all my non-stick pans and have never had a problem). This pan is a nice size, but unfortunately, it is made of inferior materials. I will be returning the pan to Walmart in hopes of getting a refund.

Five-quart Dutch oven

By Debra Harrington, Lorain, OH, Verified Reviewer

I purchased the 10-piece set, and I have used it daily, but today I cooked Sloppy Joes using the 5-quart Dutch oven and when we rinsed the pan out after we finished the copper came off the pan. I would not recommend this pan as it did not stand up well. I have only had the pan about 8-10 months.

Eggs can't be scrapped off

By L Fabian, Texas, Verified Reviewer

I bought this pan to fry eggs. The eggs stick like super glue. You have to put oil in the pan and scrap it under the egg to get it loose. That wouldn't be so bad, I don't mind adding a little butter or olive oil, but there is a crown in the middle of the pan, so any liquid runs off to the sides of the pan and the egg is still on dry land and stuck like glue.

No good

By Allison S, Saskatchewan, Canada, Verified Reviewer

Don't get suckered in because you like Batman. I bet Bruce Wayne could make better cookware. We purchased the 8.5" pan as well as the Crisper Tray. I can't remember a time when it didn't stick, honestly. Just buy pans on sale at Canadian Tire. And the Crisper Tray, nothing gets crispy. I've tried a few different things on it, and they all stay slightly moist. I would much rather flip every single fry then use the crisper again.

Everything sticks to it

By Cal Smith, Canada, Verified Reviewer

I bought it at the Canadian Tire store on our trip to the Yukon and used it a few times to try and save water on cleaning. It didn't work out. We still have it and will give it back to Gotham if they pay for shipping.

Very disappointed...

By Sheila Ogle, Bushnell, IL, Verified Reviewer

I received a 3-piece set for Christmas, and I was thrilled to get it. I have had no trouble with the pans with exception to the large fry pan.

The first time I used it the bottom caught fire and half of the bottom coating came off! I don't have the heart to tell my gift giver about this, but I fear this is a hazard to the consumer.

I have either received a flawed pan, or this is a trait they have? As I stated, the other pans have been fine. I tried using it again today with the same result, so it is getting thrown away.

I would like to contact the company about this, but I can't find a direct website for them.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Not a wonder pan after all!

By Byron F. Hoover, British Columbia, Canada, Verified Reviewer

The TV commercials, which are designed to market Gotham Steel fry pans, glorify the fry pan as stick free. Not true! It is very very difficult to clean the stuck on food.

Simply put, I can no longer use my pan due to the way food sticks to the pan. Not even oven off cleaner works well! For the first few weeks at least, the pan was easier to clean. Now it is a nightmare to try and clean, and it is the worst pan is my cupboard! All food being cooked in it sticks as if it was glued on. It really is no longer usable.

To be certain, I do not want a replacement pan nor do I want my money back. I'll just chalk it up to the Gotham Steel experience!

I bought this pan in a store which exclusively sells TV advertised goods in the city of Nanaimo, British Columbia, Canada, roughly three months ago The average use is about 1 to 1.5 times per week.

Why I am upset the way I am is not so much the pan. After all, it is just a pan! It is for the false dialogue and excessive energy used in the TV commercials promoting the pan. I have come to believe these commercials were most misleading to the consumer. Also, the commercials very highly overrate the product quality.

I feel I was conned because I wanted to believe that what was being said in those commercials was true and accurate. I was wrong! Because of their betrayal of my trust, I now have a very dim view of Gotham Steel commercials and products.

My motivation in preparing this review is to vent my frustration in the hope that someone at Gotham Steel just might rethink their marketing standards and take appropriate action.
