They are terrible

By Oliva Ruzzier, Caledon, Ontario, Canada, Verified Reviewer

I was hoping they will work like the ones on the TV commercial, but they don't. The first time I made crepes in them, it worked very well, but when I made eggs and also crepes later, everything got stuck. Now when I use them everything sticks in them. I feel that when you first buy them, they must have some kind of spray on them but after you use them a couple of times it's gone and everything sticks.

I would not buy them again and the ones I have I will through them away. At the top it asks my rating, I really wanted to rate them as zero!

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Bad customer service

By David Edwards, Florida, Verified Reviewer

My wife and I bought a set of Gotham Steel cookware last December. Some of the coating started to come off of one of the pots a few months later.

My wife called, and the company offered to send a replacement. To make a long story short, as of today, (8/22/17) we still have not received the replacement. My wife has called them several times. They claim to have sent multiple replacements. Either they think we're stupid or they've simply been lying to us, or both.

Do yourself a favor and buy from someone else. This company is garbage! I would've given zero stars if this site would let me.

Ruined my meal

By Carlleen Dion, Connecticut, Verified Reviewer

It did not come off the pan. I had to rip my meal apart to get it off the dumb pan. Worthless, do not buy this pan. This is the worst pan I've ever used. Go Teflon. I am so angry at this company.

Awful

By Carlleen Dion, Connecticut, Verified Reviewer

I bought my first Gotham Steel Pan as advertised on TV. "Nonstick, won't scratch," that's not true! With the first pan not only everything stuck to it, but I used a metal spatula and it scratched. So I'm thinking ok, I'll return it and get a new one, maybe I just got a bad one. Not the case. With my next one, the same thing. I can't return it either. What a huge bummer I love traveling the US and dragging water is a huge deal. I was so happy at first. Now I'm just really discouraged. I won't buy any ceramic pan now. But it's too late, Gotham Steel already took me.

Fried eggs burn in fry pan

By Nicole Rasmussen, Ontario, Canada, Verified Reviewer

Very disappointed that fried eggs burn on to the bottom of the pan. So does bacon and quite a few other items. Even with oil, there is burning. It is an easy cleanup, but I leave half an egg on the fry pan.

Bad, sticks all the time

By Pauline Berry, Canada, Verified Reviewer

Bad frying pan, I hate it. It was false advertisement, can't cook eggs even with butter, they stick all the time. Unless there's something wrong with mine, it's real junk. I would not recommend it to anyone.

Not so non stick

By Joseph Richter, Washington, UT, Verified Reviewer

I had great expectations for this pan after watching the demonstrations against on TV. When it first arrived, it performed exactly as advertised. After a few weeks of regular use, it lost all non-stick properties and scratches were clearly visible. Not recommended, as less expensive pans hold up better than the Gotham Steel.

Poor, I'd give no stars if able

By Dee Curran, West Palm Beach, FL, Verified Reviewer

I took a chance on the deep square pan. I never used any metal utensils or abrasive sponges while cooking or cleaning. After less than a month of use, anything I try to cook sticks to the pan. I called the manufacturer, and the best they could do was ask me to send in the paper that came with the pan that had my name and address along with $9.95 for a replacement pan. I'd already paid $40.00 for the pan.

Worst piece of junk ever!

By Nancy Papalardo, South Hadley, MA, Verified Reviewer

This pan sticks, scratches, and is difficult to clean. My pan is black in spots, and I can't get it clean. It also sticks terribly, so basically, I can't use it.

I called the company to ask how to send it back. I expected to be asked what was wrong with the pan, but I wasn't! I guess they get a lot of calls of this nature. I was told the address and to enclose a check or money order for $9.95 (this is for processing). I said, "So I have to send you a check for $9.95 and pay postage to get the pan to you? The pan is defective and does not function the way you said it would." Then I get basically another pan for the price that it would cost me to go buy one. I assume postage would be $10. So, for $20 I can have another WORST PAN EVER!

I asked the woman why I have to pay $9.95 for processing when I bought a product that was anything but what it claimed to be! She said that the company wants it that way. What? Are you kidding me! This is such a joke. So basically, if you return the pan you are actually buying another. I'm sure their profit margin is over 50%. However, even if it was only 50%, you would be purchasing another pan, so they lose no money and can give the guarantee without ever worrying about losing a dime on their horrible product!

Oh, on the ratings here are 1-5 stars, I wanted to put a negative five stars or at least no stars, but it wasn't an option.

Extremely disappointed

By Liz Stewart, Ontario, Canada, Verified Reviewer

We bought a Gotham Steel frying pan at Giant Tiger in Port Hope, Ontario. We used it for about two months, and scratches started appearing on the pan surface. We now have to spray the pan with nonstick spray to use it. Every time I see the commercial I cringe and think, "Nope, it is not that good." It was past the 30-day warranty so nothing I could do except tell everyone I know not to buy one.

Longer you have it, the worse it gets.

By Tom Willis, Los Angeles, CA, Verified Reviewer

I bought several pans about a year ago. For first several months, I was very pleased; nothing stuck. But as time went on all of the pans started sticking. This morning I cooked onions, tomatoes, and egg beaters. I used olive oil. When all done, I had to scrub out the stuck food. Certainly didn't just wipe out.

I wonder why the pans now stick. I don't overly use them. It seems that not usage, but time is the problem. I wonder what would happen if the pans were never used for a year. Would they stick? If so, that would mean something is leaching into food or air. Worrisome!
