Works as advertised

Got introduced to 2 agents, both were very high quality. The one we selected conducted 3 open houses and had our home sold in under a month. Very happy with the result and definitely recommend the service.

They deliver

First things first; I work for a competitor, so it's actually not in my best interest to help my competitor. But, I have to because HomeLight is a solid system.

They do exactly what they say they will, which is use a smart algorithm to match homeowners based on property, needs, and situation with an agent who best matches those needs. Most agents will not favor this since only 5% (give or take) are qualified to help niche specific clients.

Many clients will not get this unless you understand your position, and value what you truly need. Refrain from bashing a company like HomeLight who works for free to help homeowners and agent alike.

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

We are homeowners!

My wife and I just bought our first home! Now that we are settled, I truly believe if not for HomeLight, this would have been a disaster.

HomeLight had three real estate agents give us a call. We recognized the first agent from a for sale sign in the neighborhood (we have been stalking for homes) and felt comfortable meeting with him for a showing.

During our first meeting, our agent introduced us to a lender who assisted us in some rather creative financing, and finally, we were pre-approved.

40+ showings later we found the home because thankfully our agent pulled a not yet listed home out of his pocket. There was already an offer on the house, but our agent game up with a game plan and expert strategy. A few painless days of negotiating later and the offer was accepted.

Our agent went above and beyond every step of the way. Bringing extra water bottles to every showing, talking us through a few emotional moments and being patient while learning our extremely picky tastes. Move in day arrived and our agent was there with Edible Arrangements and a much-needed bottle of wine in hand. He even helped me move a couch.

After this experience, I understand why your decision in choosing a real estate agent is so important. Without his lender recommendation, knowledge of the neighborhood, speed of communication and patience with my wife and I, this all would have not been possible.

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

HomeLight test failed

I'm a realtor, had a couple of listings, went to the HomeLight website and clicked on the link that said contact the listing agent for this property. In both cases, as the listing agent, I never received an email from HomeLight stating that I had an interested buyer, or a question from a potential buyer about the property. Also, in both cases, I did receive an email as the potential buyer that said "We have relayed your message and Paul should be reaching out to you soon. If the agent is unavailable, a HomeLight concierge will reach out to you". Which of course is untrue, as the listing agent, I was never contacted by HomeLight, but they did forward emails to the potential buyer stating that they did contact the listing agent, and the listing agent would get back to the potential buyer. I hope that makes sense. I guess my point is that HomeLight does not contact the listing agents, they forward these leads as they see fit. Peace.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Great service

I had a great experience with HomeLight! I was at my wit's end because the real estate agent that my friend recommended had our home on the market for over a YEAR and the house didn't move. In desperation, I googled "home selling" and came across HomeLight. Right after I filled out the form, a rep called me immediately and explained to me that they have a network of top performing agents. She connected me to an agent in Abilene who has done a fantastic job marketing my home, so much so that it sold in less than two months and over listing!

Horrible

Hello, I recently sold my home, and I used HomeLight. I was so happy at how easy the process was but I felt like I had to do the realtor investigation since they sent me a lot of what I would say unprofessional and unqualified individuals. In the end, the realtor that I chose was ok I guess. By that point, I just wanted to sell my home.

It took my realtor three months to close the deal. He told me one day ok, you have this weekend to move out, so I moved out most of my stuff except the essentials, and then oh no, we had a little issue. Little issue that took weeks. And when I spoke to HomeLight about this, they were so rude. I have been trying to speak with them since December of 2017, and they just give me the runaround. I just want to tell them now how horrible of an experience I had.

Oh, and if they promise you a $25 Amazon gift card, don’t hold your breath. I never got mine, even after they promised it to me several times.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

False advertising

The site says NO call from agents.

I no sooner stopped typing in my information that I began receiving non-stop unsolicited calls from agents. Interestingly they are ALL from the same real estate company. This particular company has not been selling homes in my area according to all the sign postings that are up.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Warning: you will be spammed!

Despite their claims, you will receive unsolicited calls from agents. I was expecting to just evaluate realtors who have sold property in my area and narrow down the list to two or three agents that I would call, not the other way around. Within two minutes of registering on this site, I received three unsolicited calls. So if you are like me, and would rather be the one who makes the calls, then this service is not for you.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Another garbage internet company

I did not sign up on HomeLight, only went on the site to see what it offered. I did give my zip code. Now I get "messages" on my computer from them! And there's no way to get rid of them. I will NEVER use this service or recommend it!

Satisfaction not guaranteed

On the 10th of November 2018, I filled out the contact form on HomeLight.com. I received a "Congrats! You qualify for our Concierge Service" reply stating I would be contacted shortly. I received an email at 8:07 PM and was told I would get "a quick call to see if there's any other relevant information." The email also stated "Note that these calls with agents may be recorded for quality assurance."

I replied to the email with full details and the following: "I do not answer phone calls for numbers I do not recognize. I would prefer contact via this email address. Information passed and the exchanges will then be "documented" for my records."

I received a reply to that exchange: "Thank you for reaching out to HomeLight's support team. We have received your e-mail and our team will be in touch with you shortly."

As I type this it is 3:57 PM on the 29th of November 2018, I have received no call or email.

Within 24 hours of first filling out the HomeLight.com contact form (which included my email address), my spam folder exploded with junk email averaging 10-15 a day now where I was getting 10-15 a week. Your call.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Real estate broker referral

This service is a waste of time; once you sign up and they send you a list of agents, they will bug you with calls, texts to NO END! When I did decide to start interviewing agents for the sale of my house and contacted HomeLight agent Christoper Patterson with questions ( both email and voicemail), he did not even have the courtesy to respond! Do not waste your time with these people. I selected an agent and did not need their assistance. I would give negative stars if possible.
