Buyer beware

By Wanda L., Johannesburg, South Africa, Verified Reviewer

I signed up for a Lifebook Program which promised a 100% refund after you complete the course. I completed the course, requested the refund which was declined on the basis of a deadline date which was never communicated to me. The only condition advertised for a refund was that you have to complete the course, which I did. Now I feel like this was a scam all along.

Dear Wanda,

We hope that you are doing well.

We are sorry that you feel this way. Lifebook Online is a transformational journey which offers a refund if completed within a set deadline and this is always communicated on our sales pages. Usually, the deadline for the refund is 7 weeks exactly from the start of the program, which gives our students enough time to finish the program.

We hope that you understand this and for any further clarification, you can always check our support page: https://faqs.mindvalley.com/en/articles/3694957-lifebook-online-s-free-after-completion-model or alternatively you can reach out to our Customer Support and they would be happy to help.

Absolutely scam

By Lilia H., British Columbia, Canada, Verified Reviewer

I have been looking at this company for a while, thinking that it might be helpful, even though I had a few books by some of the authors they push and trying to sell. I spent $548, I was able to get in and watch the intro video. After that, I was not able to watch anything at all, keep asking me to buy the membership again. I tried to reach customer service, but it s nonexistent, you get a bot nonstop that tells you that in 48 hours they will get back to you, but weeks go by and your money is lost, and you’ll never get access to anything and you can never get your money back. I put in a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and I am still waiting for a response, and obviously never was able to access my account again. Don’t risk it, all is free on YouTube.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Scammers

By Laura D., Australia, Verified Reviewer

My experience with MindValley is simply that they promise the world and all you get is fraudulent credit card withdrawals long after you have unsubscribed from the courses, and long after that, they can see you have not even opened the courses.

They are charlatans, complete thieves and liars.

Some content, but mostly sales

By Deb Smith, San Francisco, CA, Verified Reviewer

I was hoping this site might be different, but you're essentially getting an aggregation of various alternative health gurus and all the marketing that goes with them. I'm open to new ideas and approaches, but I get frustrated when "Master Classes" end up to be about 15-30 (at best) minutes of actual content and 60+ minutes of success stories and hype to buy the product, coaching, etc. Now they are free, and I do expect some sales pitches, that's fine. But I basically saw most of the content in the 20 minute pitch that got me signed up for the "Master Class" and didn't need to waste 2 hours of my time. When I step away feeling like I just listened to a late-night TV product pitch, I don't feel you're bringing anything new to the table. Glad the CEO has tried and liked the products, not too surprising, as I'm sure he got to try them for free as a co-marketing arrangement with these folks. Basically, there are some interesting authors here, but you can probably buy their books or programs from them directly and you don't have to subscribe to this web site to find the data -- you can easily find them on PBS and other places on the web (and yes, the website is $1 at first, then you're charged $29 per month for content). Just pushy.

Bummed about the customer service

By Diane G., California, Verified Reviewer

I purchased a "Quest" and am yet to start, so this review will not be about that; however, when purchasing the Quest, the website sold me on a "Mindvalley" University subscription and oddly I felt like it was advertised to me as an additional "quest" for only $249 instead of the $349 I paid for the original quest. After paying the additional $249, I found out I just paid for a subscription to their "university." Honestly, I feel misled. And unfortunately, it gets worst...four days after the purchase, I sent Mindvalley an email requesting a refund in which I got an auto email that notes a response from them within 48 hours. It has been an additional four days, and still I have received no response from them. Talk about poor customer service.

Did I mention that finding an email address for the refund request was almost impossible? Their website leads a person back and for to the same websites that in reality offer no email address for customer service. I want to believe the content on Mindvalley is good, however, the really bad customer service makes me believe this company is just a SCAM.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Disappointed

By Kasia H., Sydney, Australia, Verified Reviewer

Duality program is really good, but I thought that sessions are live. Then I realized that Q&A was all recorded in 2015. MV's first objective is money and Vishen Lakhani is a salesman with a very aggressive sales strategy.

Company Response from Mindvalley LLC

Hey there Kasia,

We hope you are doing well and we are glad that you were able to enjoy our Duality program. While you are right in saying that we do offer recordings of older calls that we think might be helpful to our students, we do host live calls as well. This year alone, we held 4 live calls with the author of the Duality Quest: Jeffrey Allen which many students attended live or later accessed the recordings through their Quest.

We also feel sorry that you do not agree with our marketing strategies but we do confirm that our biggest mission here at Mindvalley is to transform the lives of people and to accomplish that mission we offer many free courses as well. You can check them out here at: https://www.mindvalley.com/free-courses.

We hope you have a wonderful day ahead.

The Mindvalley Team.

Average, helpful

By Lloyd, Los Angeles, CA, Verified Reviewer

You are not obligated to buy anything. There are free mp3 downloads. Really, they are free. I take advantage of those. Being in between jobs for several years due to the recession, and being older, listening to the self hypnosis, and mp3 digital recordings have been very helpful. There's nothing like getting free help about staying positive during tense financial times that we live in, and to learn to stay away from negative people and vibes. I never paid for anything. I downloaded free self help hypnosis, and free uplifting mp3 digital recordings from thoughtinspire.com. I have noticed that I am much calmer and happier in my life.

Fair Content, BAD High Pressure Ads disguised as "Master Classes."

By Kath Harper, Verified Reviewer

Mindvalley has a good content base BUT I am constantly barraged by invitations to "master classes" which are actually little bites of content from other monetizing spiritual programs wrapped around a high pressure sales pitch. The tactic from email marketing that uses high-pressure popup windows is both annoying and in my opinion very low-class. The end effect is making the entire Mindvalley operation seem like one big high-pressure bait-and-switch marketing scheme for a cooperative of money-hungry "spiritual teachers" and I'm not sure that this is the reputation that they would like to have. Perhaps that's really the point, but it makes the whole high-minded tone of their initial ads seem somewhat cynical.

By Olly W., New York, NY, Verified Reviewer

Nothing special to add. I think you get what you pay for here. There's nothing much else to it. If this is the kind of thing you need, then get it, you won't be disappointed, but you won't be blown away either.

Be cautious

By Tony W., Chicago, IL, Verified Reviewer

I have signed up for "The Uncompromised Life" program, which so far I have little complaints about, though I wouldn't mind if they spent less time touting Marissa Peers contact with famous people and how great the program is. I've already bought the program, no need to continue to sell it to me. Regardless, I downloaded the app and started to check out some other free programs and was recommended to "How to get 10X the results from your workout". In the discussion, Lorenzo Delano brings up a study by McMaster University where he claims they discovered that only lifting heavyweight (90% of your 1 rep max) is effective. So I decided to look up the study myself to learn more only to find that the study says the exact opposite. It found that there was NO DIFFERENCE in the two groups, one lifting 50% of their 1RM and the 90% group. So before we even get into the meat and potatoes of this workout, the expert is giving out inaccurate information and wrongly citing scholarly articles. That really put me off. So use caution when evaluating "facts" from their experts.

I found this pretty awesome

By Kristine W., Mississippi, AL, Verified Reviewer

I'm kind of a health freak and can do yoga and meditation on regular basis. Just to get into this more I've chosen Mindvally university after going to a webinar.

The webinar was actually informative and gave replies to a lot of my queries but as we all know, knowledge is an ocean, so I decided to go deep and registered for a yoga program. I believe it was awesome with a lot of positives and out-of-the-box thought process.

I've recommended this to my friends Ted and Marcy and they both are satisfied with the results.
