Noom is a great resource, life changing.

I love the playful tone of the daily education, the ease of food tracking, the ability to increase the calorie budget with exercise, the understanding and flexibility of the structure, and the accessibility on my phone.

My only hesitation is that the educational pieces charge forward and cannot be paused, so if you are at your capacity and need time for things to settle in before continuing to add more; pacing is difficult. For me, it would also be helpful to have an element on the computer, or on paper to make it easier to review some parts, especially like when the program asks for your input on things like goals, rewards, and so on. You can bookmark in the app, but not export. I think it's great that there's a support group element for those who would find that helpful, and I appreciate that I could say "I don't want that" and opt out.

Regardless of those minor issues, the potential for sustainable change is great, and this is the only program I've encountered that gives me hope I can make that sustainable change in the middle of the rest of my life's obligations and activities. I have stayed with it for over a month, and plan to continue on - I am a satisfied customer.

Noom review

Logging all food has been a huge eye-opener. Counting my steps has been helpful, as have the calorie and step goals for the day. The coaches and the group features have not been as great a tool as I would have hoped. The postings and comments are sporadic and all over the place. It's nice and all, but not that much of a tool to rely on.

Very interesting and informative

I find the articles very good. Yesterday I suffered from less than 8 hours sleep, and sure enough, I ate the wrong foods and too much food. I did log my meals but not all the snacking that took place later.

Fortunately, I did not gain.

I was aware of what was happening because of the articles, but it did not stop me. I do, however, think I ate less then I could have had I not been aware of what the cause of my extra hunger was.

I like the information.

A marvelous way to lose weight by changing lifestyle

We’d returned from a vacation the day before and I just signed up for Noom on the chance that it might help me drop these pesky pounds. Had heard about Noom on NPR for some time...

Have NEVER counted calories before and rather enjoy the exercise! It’s quite alarming when one realizes that the Chocolate Almond Amore dessert cocktail in Olive Garden is 800 calories. And it’s not that Noom says it’s completely out, only that one has to keep tabs on the caloric contributions of various foods!

And since Noom requires that we walk these steps (requirement keeps increasing too!), I’ve finally started remembering to carry my cellphone with me. That’s an additional lifestyle change. Of course, I spend too much time on the phone now but hopefully, that’ll get less with time. But all the reading we need to do for Noom in addition to steps and logging our calories, promises to make the weight loss permanent! It’s a slow process, but love how Noom stresses that gaining calories takes minutes while losing calories through exercise takes hours.

Like many, I've struggled with weight all my life. My relationship with food has always been a complex one. After having two children, I'd all but given up on getting back into a "healthy" zone (and back into my favorite jeans). In just 5 weeks my perspectives have completely changed. I've lost more than 10 pounds (nearly half my goal) and am feeling more optimistic than ever about my body. Noom is a completely new approach to weight loss. So far I enjoy Noom. It has helped me stay on track and so far I have lost 12.2 lbs but I am also on a 40-day fast with the church from any animal products including dairy, meat, and eggs. Also, no bread unless, whole grain.

Four weeks in and truly have found this to be a different experience not only with weight loss but overall better health.

Daily, the readings have been light but informative with a nice added benefit of humor. I can truthfully say that I have learned much and find this to be very motivating. Counting calories is new for me but a tool that I can’t help but feel all should have in their box. Getting older, and losing weight isn’t easy but I feel that I’m on the right path and this has been beneficial.

Great tool to reset your health habits

I'm a busy, working 47-year-old mom of three and was looking for an app to help me lose a few pounds (and my muffin top!), and keep it off. I was also looking for something that would increase my energy level and improve my mindset - and help me live a healthier lifestyle. I needed something that wouldn't break the bank, and could "coach" me on my terms (i.e. when I had the time). I'm so glad I found Noom, as it's been great in helping accomplish these goals.
