Bad business

Expensive! There is a known cancer ingredient in their product line. When we became aware of this, we returned the new unused/unopened order back to Shapiro MD. They did not refund our credit card and they received the products back. When I called their customer service to resolve, they were not helpful and said they will not credit the order. Though I was previously given an RMA # for the return, they said I waited too long to resolve this issue. In my opinion, that is bad business!

Horrible customer service, borderline scam

Today I had to help my mother who was very distraught about her experience with Shapiro MD. She had accidentally ordered a recurring subscription that includes an $80 box of shampoo and other products. She must have fallen for some sneaky option when checking out that gives her a 10% discount but makes her order recurring.

So I called the support line and was told to hit 2 for customer support. After doing so I have my phone number repeated back to me then the robot said an agent will contact you, but if you'd like to stay on the line and wait for an agent, hit star. I hit star, then I'm told an agent will have to get back to me in 24 hours...So their phone line support straight-up lies to you. Garbage.

I then move on to live chat on their website. I explain the situation to a "Jose" and then I'm asked to provide the order number. I provide it and after 10 minutes he tells me it is recurring due to accepting terms and conditions to the discount club to get 10% off.

Now I'm sure this was stated when my mother made the order but she's not great with this stuff so I guess she missed it. I wouldn't put it past them to have put these details in the fine print.

Anyway, I go off about how terrible their service is including the phone line mess I went through (I tried calling 3 times). Jose gets going on a tangent about how it's Black Friday and the staff should have gotten back to me on the phone and I shouldn't have received the "we'll contact you in 24 hours" message. It kind of seemed like he was wasting time.

I then tell him to try his best to cancel this order and he replies by offering to push back the order to a further date and change the billing cycle by adding more days in order to not lose the discount. I persist and tell him I'm done with Shapiro MD and ask "Can you cancel the order? Yes or no?"

It was yes apparently, and I finally got the cancellation email. But wait, there's more.

I ask for a case number and his employee number, but uh-ohm neither exists. I told him I'll be taking screenshots of this text exchange and he said if I want confirmation he highly advises I try calling because he had tried it just then and his co-worker picked up. I call his bluff and tell him to give me the number he used - it was the same I used multiple times already.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Bad service

I ordered two sets of shampoo, conditioner, foam, and topical. When I received my order, instead of the topical for women, I received the one for men. It clearly states on the box not for use by women. I called and the representative said they would send me the correct topical for women. Two weeks later I received the package of topical and it was also for men. When I finally got through to a representative, she was very rude and said the one for women is back-ordered but she would send me two complimentary foam products. I explained to her that was not what I ordered and paid for. She said I should use the one marked for men. I told her I am not willing to do that. I told the representative when they filled my order originally and they did not have the topical for women, they should have notified me and let me decide if I wanted to go ahead with the one for men. They had no problem putting my credit card through for the amount of the order, but now they won't honor what I paid for. I believe since they can't fill my order the way it was originally ordered they should refund my money. The representative was really rude and would not let me talk. I told her I intend to write a review and let people know who they are dealing with at this company. I hope this review doesn't get deleted before other customers get a chance to read it.

Hair feels like it is straw

My hair always felt like it was straw. Even the conditioner felt like straw. My dried and brushed off was felt it was straw when I finished drying my hair. I will return the product.

Nonexistent customer service

I ordered this product and it arrived damaged due to poor packaging. I contacted the company several times to no avail. Below I have pasted my last message to them, still no response.

Hello,

I sent the message below regarding my very first and possibly last order.

Package arrived damp I opened it to find the 2 leave in conditioners (on the bottom layer ) caps were off and had been dispensed inside the box. Please send 2 more of this product to replace them. I can send pics but this page will not allow it.

This the response I received.

We wanted to let you know that your order (#378908) was shipped via FEDEX

First of all, the package came with a note from the USPS so I’m not sure how that happened if it was shipped via FedEx.

Secondly, the package arrived in a large plastic bag as I am sure the USPS did not want it to damage other packages in the care. If telling me it was shipped FedEx is an attempt to deny responsibility for a poorly packaged product and that replacement products will not be sent then I have just become a former customer who is very disappointed in the lack of integrity in your company.

DISAPPOINTED!

I've been losing my hair and have thinning hair for months, especially the last few months, and it's humiliating and emotionally draining, especially as a female. I thought this product would be the answer, FINALLY! I will be getting married in a few months now but when I purchased the product I was going to have 7 months for it to work, though I thought. But what happened was a nightmare! Not only was I out tons of money but I lost even more hair. As if it couldn't get any worse for my wedding day. I'm so devastated and disappointed! So no new hair growth and just more hair loss and a loss of money!

Just not for me

Using this shampoo and conditioner set caused alot of my hair to fall out and it makes my hair look dirty, it just doesn't work for me.

I returned this order

I returned this order. After reading all the extra instructions sent by e-mail I am 75 and this product is too much trouble. You should have received the return by now. Do not send any more.

Did not use it. I am too old for all the work involved. It was an impulse buy, I did not open the package, because of all the extra work involved I am just not willing to devote that much time to my hair.

Not happy with product - zero results!

It's really too bad that I can't rate below 1 star! Total scam!

I read that if I wasn't satisfied that a full refund would be given. Well, apparently I'm too late to report that I wasn't happy with the product, it did nothing for me and that I will not get a refund for the first set of product!

I also just found out that I got locked into an automatic renewal, wow great! And now another "set" has been sent and I have to pay the return shipping to get a refund! Seriously!

Terrible company, terrible customer service! I will be copying this before I send and it will be posted on my Facebook page!

New to product

I am waiting to see results. I am only halfway through the product. Trying to be hopeful. The leave-in foam I could not tell any difference in using it. It did have a more pleasant scent than the shampoo and conditioner did. Thank you.
