The team at SmileDirectClub was great. I went in to their office for my initial scan and I received my aligners relatively quickly. The first month was excellent. I wore my aligners diligently as instructed. I have been self-conscious of two visibly crooked teeth my entire life. I was so happy that within months I would be free of this problem! However, in month two, my first set of top row aligners did not fit correctly. They were very loose and there was quite a bit of extra aligner that my teeth did not fill out. I assumed that perhaps this may have been a one-off, but long story short, my top aligners never fit properly throughout the next 5 months. As there was no pressure applied on my top teeth, they did not really undergo any change.
Upon completing my 6-month treatment plan I replied to my final checkup email with photos of how poorly my top aligners "fit" throughout my treatment and of course with photos of my unchanged crooked teeth. I believe that was about a month ago and I have received no reply from SmileDirect. I would have been happy to pay for adjusted trays and then continue to pay for the retainers, but responding to a customer email seems to be way too much to ask of SDC. While it is considerably cheaper than Invisalign, the old adage of "you get what you pay for" rings true here. I will say that my bottom aligners fit consistently and I did see them shift as prescribed. Unfortunately, my bottom (already straight) teeth were not the reason I joined SDC. I'm now beginning the process again with reputable professionals capable of delivering on the services they promise to deliver. My experience with SDC feels like a disappointing cash grab.

I thought this was the best way to go to re-straighten my teeth which were not that crooked to begin with. The "brick and mortar" Smile store experience was great but that was it. From day one it has been a disaster - from the shipping to the aligners not fitting and causing sores and cuts in my mouth and tongue which put me behind a week because I had to wait to restart. It was a weekly joke as something would be wrong every time I opened the next week’s aligners. The second week I opened the pack to see that I had 2 sets of bottom aligners and no top so I had to wear the one from the week before for two weeks. I just handled it myself and figured things out but when I did contact customer service in month 2 I think it was - they were going to resend me aligners for a different month which would have done me no good and would have been too late and then I never received anything ever so I just gave up and kept wearing what I had. And now I was supposed to be done and my retainers are already 4-6 weeks late but they already charged me for them and now I got another email saying there are going to be another 3 weeks. First of all - my teeth on top are now over-corrected and my bottom teeth are still not straight. So how can I trust that they won’t move during the day when I am not supposed to be wearing them. Because they do move that fast believe me.
I would never recommend to anyone and I will probably end up paying more money again to have an orthodontist put back on actual braces. Would have been way easier and more successful that is for sure. Ohhh and they want you to pay $99 every six months for life for the aligners so your teeth stay straight and that is supposedly your guarantee. What crap!

I visited the SmilteDirect bus on October 17, 2019 and got a full mouth scan. Everything was explained very clearly to me. I was treated very professionally. I signed up that day and I have received my aligners on November 12, 2019 just as they had said I would. The aligners fit tight and I have been wearing them for a week now with no significant problems other than having a headache. I will be starting week 2 tomorrow. It is a pain having to brush and floss after eating anything but I expect to have the cleanest teeth in my family! I am 68 years old and have always wanted straighter front teeth and have finally made the step in the right direction. People don't even know I am wearing them. I am looking forward to a new straight smile! I will keep you posted!

I went into Orland Park on October 8th. On October 10th I got an email stating my re-evaluation had been approved. Since that time I log on to my account and see "oops you did not keep your appointment". I did but still can’t log on. Who is Dr. Brian Nelson? Is it true that you use dentists and not orthodontists? What brought me to re-evaluation was that my retainers were clearly not for my mouth. They include one tooth I do not have. You use an inferior material that I have actually had to cut with scissors to keep from cutting my mouth. The edges flare straight out. Terrible customer service. I call over and over again without a return phone call. I wish I had never started this process. I can’t give 0 stars.

If customers have any issues with the aligners, we may recommend that they trim the aligners in any specific areas causing discomfort or we may request they come in for a new scan. They're so kind and they explain everything and they want to know what and if we understand everything and it’s just an amazing environment to be at and to get my Invisalign with. I would recommend them to anyone in need of a new smile. They're very gentle when they examine people unlike other dentists.

I had such a great experience at the location I attended. The individual I was working with, Danna, was exceptional! I’ve never had such great customer service. I was walked through everything step-by-step and left with no questions due to the thorough explanation I was given. Would absolutely refer a friend! Don’t miss out on a great opportunity!

SmileDirect is by far the rudest company I have ever had to deal with. They lack complete customer service, unless you think being called stupid is good customer service. They do not give you the detailed information needed and believe they do not make mistakes. I have had to call and call to get information needed and to order retainers when they’re supposed to be sent to me automatically. When they did send me my aligners they forgot a whole month and tried to charge me for it. I had considered doing another round with them but I will be taking my business elsewhere to Invisalign. I suggest others that are considering SmileDirect to not do it.

I did the whole SmileDirect process from beginning to end, in the end when I recieved my final retainers they were extremely tight and ill-fitting. They pinched too tight on my gums and made my gums recede. The root to one of my teeth is now exposed and it's painful, and according to the dentist will cost between $1500-2000 to fix. I reached out to SmileDirectClub and told them about my problem and recieved no response. When I reached out a second time they said they had no proff of my initial response and without it, they would not offer any help. I have had receded gums and a very expensive dentist bill thanks to SmileDirectClub, I would not recommend people using this product, it cost me way more in the long run and I'm extremely unhappy with the results or lack thereof.

I am very upset and disappointed. I am never late with my payments but still paying for something that I don’t have. I finished my 6 months treatment which was not satisfying since only the upper teeth straightened and the bottom did not. I was set for another 3 months' treatment. I have been waiting for new aligners for over 2 months already. According to the customer service reps, the aligners are ready but there’s nobody available to ship them to me. Yeah, it’s been over 2 months and my teeth moved because old aligners cracked already. How can I expect the new aligners fit if my teeth moved? It sucks that the company gets too many customers and cannot keep up with the supply. They get your money and you but cannot provide you with the product. I want my money back. That’s ridiculous! I will be leaving more negative reviews on other sources because nobody even can tell me what's going, only asking me to wait. Wait? For how many more years?
