Elbow sleeve review!

By Timothy Smoch, British Columbia, Canada, Verified Reviewer

I am a 54-year-old Canadian man who has had two full hip replacements and a spinal fusion. My last hip replacement was just over one year ago, October 31st, 2016. I have been training and doing physio with determination and focus trying to get back to my pre-injury self! I have been making good progress but have been hampered by a tennis elbow with which I have been wearing a tennis elbow strap for the last 4 months with minimal relief.

I went to a showcase store in Kamloops where I lived and bought one of these elbow compression sleeves. I have had more relief in the last three days than I have had in 4 months. More than just physical relief, it has given me my psychological game back, enabling me to get back on the weights and rejuvenate my efforts regarding my health and wellness!

Tommie Copper, thank you for your product and what you do! I will be recommending your products to anyone I care about who has nagging age or recovery type injuries. I hope I don’t need any more of your products, but they will be my first source for healing in the future! Once I reach my life health and wellness goals, if you need a ruggedly handsome old Ukrainian to model or endorse your products, I’m in! Thank you.

Better off ordering from Amazon

By Maria Dumas, Virginia, Verified Reviewer

While the product itself is great, the customer service stinks, as does their cancellation policy, to which one does not exist.

I ordered this product on a Friday night to have something shipped via FedEx overnight, paid an additional $24.50, not knowing they are not open on weekends. The family member I ordered the product for expressed serious pain and the compression products would help her knees tremendously. I wanted her to not suffer as badly for any significant amount of time.

When I found out the product would not get to my house until Tuesday, I called customer service who told me they could not change the order to take the FedEx overnight option off, when the transaction had not even gone through yet!

By the time I would receive the package, it would be a moot point to use FedEx overnight because it would not get here until a Tuesday. Not helpful at all. So, I called back asking to cancel the order altogether. I was told by a second customer service person who answered that they would take note of my request and put it on her supervisor's desk but could not make any promises. What the heck?

I wasted $24.50 on shipping. Meanwhile, my family member was in pain waiting around for something to ship that didn't get there until they felt like processing the order. If I called to cancel the order while the order was still pending (as I was told the order hadn't even been processed yet when I called, and they still refused to help me cancel the order), they should have been willing to accommodate one way or another.

Boo, thumbs down, I will never directly order Tommie Copper products from Tommie Copper ever again, I will use Amazon. Tommie Copper customer service is a joke, and they should be ashamed of themselves. Kudos to the inventors and the manufacturer, but the customer service is AWFUL.

It worked for me.

By Pamela Wasilka, Manitoba, Canada, Verified Reviewer

Just before work, I twisted my knee. The aching was unbearable. At work, I was very uncomfortable and didn't know if I was going to work the shift. Then I recalled that a friend wears head to toe Tommie Copper and she loves it. She doesn't go anywhere without it. So I went straight to the showcase. From being in pain for 2 hours and wearing Tommie Copper for 20 minutes, the pain eased up and disappeared.

Thank you Tommy Cooper. I will promote the product. My mother has already tried it on.

Design flaw causes poor sizing

By Amy Khedouri, Oregon, Verified Reviewer

I am a woman and weigh 125 pounds. I wear a size 7 and a 1/2 Medium shoe.

I purchased an ankle sleeve in size Medium. It was too big. I sent it back. I reordered a size Small. It was too small.

I would like to suggest that these items are poorly designed. The sizing simply does not work. I don't mean that the Medium was too big (ok, that can happen) but the opening to accommodate the heel on the Small was ridiculously small. It was probably fine around the ankle (I don't now for sure as I took it off within seconds before my foot lost circulation). I assure you that I have a normal sized foot, not swollen but the sleeve cut into the sole of my foot really deeply.

I recommend buying Acme or Champion ankle braces. I have been using them for years and just reordered another one since this purchase did not work out.

Knee sleeve

By Danny Ottaway, Texas, Verified Reviewer

I shattered the inner plateau on my left tibia back in March and had surgery. Therapy followed and is continuing. There was considerable swelling in the knee. After two days of wearing the sleeve, the swelling has all but disappeared. The support that it provides is invaluable to me. Thank you Tommie Copper.

It works

I have arthritis in my left elbow and I put on the Tommie Copper sleeve and had instant relief. It's only the first day, but it's good so far.

Waste of money

By DeAnn Ancell, Kansas, Verified Reviewer

I bought the knee sleeve. It won't stay up. It keeps sliding down until I have this uncomfortable mass of material just below my knee. I don't believe it's supposed to work this way. It's a piece of junk and certainly not worth the $30 it cost.

Symptoms of RSD and Tommie Copper compression glove

By Daniel Mcculler, Shreveport, LA, Verified Reviewer

I purchased a pair of the Tommie Copper compressions gloves for the swelling in my hand from the Symptoms of RSD. The swelling also caused tingling in my hand and fingers from the compression of the nerves. As soon as I put the glove on, my the tingling almost completely went away. The swelling was more under control.

I would quickly recommend this product for what it has done to help me.

Truck wreck

By Louis Lindquist, Calgary, Alberta, Canada, Verified Reviewer

In March of 2014, I was in a major truck wreck and I hit black ice with my 2007 Peterbilt. I lost control at 60 mph and went into the ditch with frozen snow bringing me to an abrupt halt. The 60,000-lb load of pipe came crashing forward pushing me through the dash of my truck. After 2.5 hours they finally pulled me out of the wreck. I sustained extensive damage to my body, from the partial amputation of my lower right leg to soft tissue damage of my right hip, de-gloving of my right leg, a piece out of my left calve muscle, broken ribs, shattered sternum, and two broken shoulder sockets.

I went through several surgeries to put me back together. I'm living proof that the Tommie Copper compression wear works. I used the socks to keep the swelling down after they put my leg back on, the knee brace for swelling in my left knee, and the compression shorts for the damage to my hips. This was very helpful for the past three years as I went from learning how to walk again to walking 5 to 7 miles a day. For the past year, while having my shoulders replaced, I've been using the compression wear t-shirts to help with speeding up the healing and keeping the swelling down.

I'm living proof that Tommie Copper wear works. I would recommend it to anyone injured in a major accident.

Disappointed

By Karen Daniels, Mesa, AZ, Verified Reviewer

I tried the Tommie Copper T-shirt. It did nothing for me. I left an honest review, and they refused to post it. Their response was "Our staff has read your review and unfortunately we cannot post your comments as they did not meet all of our regulatory requirements. Please resubmit your review by abiding by our writing guidelines."

My review was this, "I so badly wanted this to help me. I have numerous issues with my back (according to the guidelines I'm not allow to list them. I'm guessing because if you have the same issues, you won't buy this product after reading my review). Unfortunately, this didn't help in the least little bit. However, it is very comfortable. The length is perfectly long, so you're not yanking at it all day. Also, the fit was as expected."

Finger gloves

By Cheryl Renaud, Martintown, Ontario, Canada, Verified Reviewer

I purchased the Tommie Copper gloves for my rheumatoid arthritis, and I love them. They really do help with the pain, so I ordered two more pairs (the full finger gloves and the half gloves). Then I ordered the T-shirt, and again I love this product. I even sent a pair of gloves to my daughter in British Columbia.

Thank you, Tommie Copper. Now I'm going to order the knee ones for my husband (he suffers from pain in his knees). I love your products; they do help me with the pain I suffer from.
