Don’t do it

By Georgie B., Melbourne, Australia, Verified Reviewer

Do not subscribe to this service. They charge $159 in the first month and do not warn you. Their food and fitness plan is not useful at all.

Some of their psych lessons are useful, but you could probably find them online.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

My login didn't ever work but they still charged me $149

By Kathleen B., Washington, Verified Reviewer

I did the trial version of Noom. After signing up, I could not log into Noom. I tried logging in, but the password wasn't accepted. I sent "forgot my password" several times, but never did I get an email to reset. I tried getting ahold of customer support, and I was only gotten back to after they had charged $149 for a year subscription. Someone finally gets back to me and says oh, sorry you aren't happy. But you don't get a refund. You can still use all of the Noom stuff for your subscription period. I can't use it for the period because I can't log in. If I can't log in and I don't have a coach it is of no use. I asked again for a refund and haven't heard back. The company needs to do the right thing and return my money.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Noom saved my life!

By Chris G., Wasilla, AK, Verified Reviewer

I was so overweight and had such an unhealthy view of food that I would have probably had a heart attack or stroke if it wasn't for Noom. Noom taught me the psychology behind my eating habits and how to overcome my obsession with food. I lost 30 pounds in 4 months and kept it off for 3 more months and now have lost another 10 pounds in this last month. I am so thankful I found Noom! It has given me a healthy perspective of eating and changed my life forever. I feel like I have my life back!

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

No way to cancel the trial

By Rene D., Fort Collins, CO, Verified Reviewer

I was unable to create an account for the 14-day trial so tried to contact the company for help. I could find no Contact Me source. What I did find was that in order to cancel the trial I had to contact my coach on the app that I could not get to work! So now I have been charged the full amount and still have no way to contact them! Very upset. What reputable company does not have phone or email contact info available?

Requests to cancel - ignored!

By Ashley J., Dallas, TX, Verified Reviewer

The cancellation was requested but ignored. Do not sign up for this company, as like all the other reviews they tell you to reach out to your "coach," AKA a robot. And those cancellation requests are ignored, and you have no way to remove your payment information or prove that you canceled because their messages are not time-stamped on their app. SCAM.

No warning

By Sarah D., California, Verified Reviewer

Noom said this would be the cost of shoes, and for me, the cost of shoes is $60. Instead, I paid $129 without warning, and that is predatory! This is MY money and I need to be asked PERMISSION before I give you MY money! I would have been happy to pay the monthly fee of $60, because maybe in a month I would have been happy with results and pay for the longer service. But my body hasn't shown any changes in the trial, and unless you starve yourself, you won't see any changes. Now I'm near broke, and I will really be starving. And non-fundable? Lies, I don't even think that's right, and we'll see when I contact my bank about this!

This stress alone will make me lose weight, so I guess it's working!

Stay away

By Mel P., Brainerd, MN, Verified Reviewer

This app is essentially useless, and when I canceled one day after the 14-day trial period, I was charged $99 with absolutely no opportunity for a refund. Please do not waste your time or money on this scam. Run very fast and very far in the other direction!

Subscription is "shady"

By Dana D., Minneapolis, MN, Verified Reviewer

I tried Noom like I do with all my other good intentions with health and weight loss. I figure that I could just cancel after 14 days if I didn’t like it. I didn’t like it any more than the other apps I use (MyFitnessPal, Beachbody). It was harder to log food and took up quite a bit of time with their questionnaires and spoon fed motivation.

What really sealed the deal and inspired me to leave this review as a warning is the difficulty I encountered to manage and ultimately cancel my subscription. I have read a lot of reviews and noticed people who try Noom are paying all kinds of different prices. I was only given one option, which was to pay $99 every two months (for what they are offering this is super expensive in my opinion). I’ve read where people are paying half that amount ($49 every two months) or I’ve seen $129 for two months.

Besides that, when my subscription was set to renew, I never received an email or message to let me know that was going to happen. My PayPal was charged without a warning. Super annoying. Finally, when I wanted to cancel, there is no place in your account to cancel. You actually have to submit a request with your coach to quit. The coach didn’t get back to me right away, and I had to explain myself. I found that uncomfortable and super inconvenient. I felt like I should have been able to decide when and how I cancel my subscription.

A great way to waste a dollar

By Jessica S., Raleigh, NC, Verified Reviewer

Well, it's day four of my "14-day $1 trial" that required I put my credit info in so that, after the trial, I could be charged for the monthly fee. This might be okay if I could ACCESS the actual app! So much about their form and reg system is buggy - weird formats required that you only figure out after trial and error. My password that I used at sign in (and that I know I used in sign in as I use a password saver) now no longer works and I have never been able to log in via the app. I've contacted support numerous times to no avail and, because of this, can't cancel the subscription charge that will undoubtedly go through before I can even TRY the app itself. I am really hoping I only lose the $1 from the trial instead of paying $50 for literally nothing.

No help at all

By Beatrice P., New Zealand, Verified Reviewer

Hello. I have emailed and emailed all of last week and a bit this week with NO HELP AT ALL from these guys.

I have been trying to log on to my account and have had no success, so I put it down to emailing and have had NO HELP whatsoever.

Do they just take people's money and that's it? NO HELP AT ALL.

Scam! So disappointed!

By Lisa D., Savannah, GA, Verified Reviewer

I saw the ads non stop on my social media accounts and decided to give it a try. Sadly you don't get a real feel for the app during the trial because you don't have full access, so I ended up paying for four months all at once (though it was monthly), and it wasn't any help at all! A total WASTE of 125 bucks! And I opted for the DNA test too, and that was another waste of money! All results said "normal." That's it! Nothing of any help what so ever. The coach never gave me any helpful advise, and there are free apps that are more helpful. The group was impossible to figure out. RUN! STAY AWAY from this program! It is a lot of money for absolutely nothing! It's not a program, no plan to follow. Just vague questions your coach asks and never any real advise at all. SCAM.
