Not non-stick at all!

By Robyn, Galloway, NJ, Verified Reviewer

I was shocked when I saw this product completely fail to do what it claims. Their whole selling point (and the only reason I bought it) was for the non-stick quality I believed it would have. We read all the packaging information and directions before cooking. It says do not use spray and claims nothing is needed to coat the pan. I cracked an egg into it, and it immediately adhered firmly to the pan, to the point where we had to scrape it out and start over. It completely stuck!

So we coated the pan with some butter and tried again. This prevents sticking everywhere, but where you might want it, in the center of the pan where it must be slightly pitched because all the butter ran right to the sides. Once you maneuver your melted coating around and get the pan covered, THEN the eggs cooked great, and we've used it a few times now that way.

It is easy to clean, I'll give it that. Also, it is the perfect size for cooking eggs, and I like how it looks. But non-stick? Not at all!

This pan sucks

By Geoff, British Columbia, Canada, Verified Reviewer

We got one of their pans as a gift, and I haven't found one thing that doesn't stick to it. It won't sit flat on the stove because the bottom is bowed. You can't clean it like their ads show. When I get the chance and address I'm sending it back.

Everything it says!

By Pam, Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, Verified Reviewer

I'm not sure what the other users were doing, but we got the frying pan to ty it before committing to the set. My hubby fried a steak from frozen, with no oil or butter, and we could not believe how amazing it was! On the heels of that, he fried an egg (on high), and again, though a tad runny on top, the bottom was slightly crispy and it slid right out. It was delicious. He deliberately scorched peanut satay on the bottom and wiped it right out with a paper towel.

That convinced us to get the whole set plus the broiler/griddle and the square deep pan. We have made stir fries, meat with sauces, and veggies separately, and never once using any oils. We've fried cheese in the bottom and again (partly to test the pans, partly because it's good!), not a single problem.

I was concerned about pancakes and french toast. With regular pans even if it doesn't sick, not using oil tends to affect the consistency of it. They cooked well, weren't tough on the outside like I expected they might be, and were fluffy inside and out.

On the broiler pan, we made a cooked to perfection tenderloin roast for Christmas. It was the first time I tried one of those and was scared about ruining it, but it couldn't have been better.

Now, cheese does stick to the metal rivets on the insides of the pan, and I find the broiler does require a bit of elbow grease, but otherwise everything stacks up to more than we expected.

Hot handles

By Marice Norris, Missouri, Verified Reviewer

I love the cookware set I got for Christmas. Not having to use oil to cook is great. My one COMPLAINT is the hot handles on the lids! I got them at the VA Hospital store.

Great pan

By Jim Braun, Chesapeake, VA, Verified Reviewer

I love them!

I have to use two spatulas to flip an egg and it wants to slip off the pan. You need to read the directions and season the pan first.

My only con is they are not induction ready. I just bought an NU Wave induction burner and had to give up the pan.

Bad customer service

By David Mattson, McLean, Illinois, Verified Reviewer

I bought a 12.5-inch pan five months ago. Tt worked great for about three months, but now the top coating is coming off, and everything sticks to it.

I left two emails with customer service with no reply. I called several times before I got someone and they then tell me I have to ship them the pan and a money order for $10.00 before they would send me a new pan.

I wold not recommend this company to anyone.

Company uncooperative!

By Sheila Casey, Maine, Verified Reviewer

We ordered these pans. The offer was "buy one at $19.99, get one free." When they arrived, there were four pans, and they had charged our credit card $73.89. We called and told them, they acknowledged the mistake, and told us to return the two extra pans BUT, we had to pay shipping and handling. When we asked why we had to pay when we had not ordered four, and they had acknowledged their mistake, they abruptly said that we had to pay, or there would be no refund. This is a scam!

This pan is a scam!

By Dayle, Listuguj, Quebec, Canada, Verified Reviewer

We honestly thought we were getting a good deal on this pan, but the first thing we cooked stuck horribly to it! Those eggs that they cook are probably already cooked and sprayed, lol.

Don't let this commercial fool you like it did to us! I provided a receipt within 90 days to get my money back. That's crap as well, since I'm still waiting.

Whatever you do, don't buy this pan or anything "Gotham."

NOT as advertised

By Maggie Scott, Alberta, Canada, Verified Reviewer

Do you ever wonder why you get a 90-day warranty on a product that is supposed to NEVER stick, NEVER scratch? Well it is because it (this product) seemed to only go 90 days without this issue.

I regularly make either scrambled eggs or omelets, as I saute quite often. I have only one time used a metal tool to move the food, and pan was immediately scratched. I have NEVER been able to cook without some type of oil, margarine, or butter, and now ANYTHING you try cooking sticks.

Worth the money? Not in my opinion, and I paid nearly $40 by the time you add in shipping to Canada but not the exchange. Never again.

I can provide pictures if needed.

Works just as advertised, at first

By Stephen Pyle, Stone Mountain, GA, Verified Reviewer

Don't be FOOLED by the TV ads or even the new's agencies that are testing it on their shows. I readily admit these pans are super-duper at what they advertise when they are new, but after purchasing an entire set (based on seeing them "proven" to work on a news show), and after one month of use, food stick just like any other "non-stick" pan.

I could find no way to contact the company to register my complaint, only an order telephone line, and "customer service" only directs you to find your order.

I spent $181 because I am learning to cook and needed new pans, but this was an outrageous waste of money, considering what they are advertised to do. I'd be happy if Gotham Steel HAPPY wanted to contact me, because I plan to go to social media and everywhere I can to advertise their false claims.

I give them two stars because they work just as described, for the first couple weeks, and they seem to cook evenly. Otherwise, they deserve only ONE star for being no better than any Teflon pan.

Total waste of money

By Jackie, New Brunswick, Canada, Verified Reviewer

There is nothing accurate in how these pans are described and marketed. It's total crap and waste of money, and it borders on fraud. Food sticks to the pans, and they do scratch. I would not recommend them to anybody. Junk, junk, junk.
