Misleading free shipping and hidden cost for Canadian’s order

By Czarjeff L., Calgary, Alberta, Canada, Verified Reviewer

I have ordered the promotional basic pack of three bottles on December 9, 2018 and received the package around December 28th. To my surprise, I was charged for GST at Canadian $9.07 and another Handling fee at Canadian $9.95. I thought that the handling fee/shipping is already paid for when I paid the product online as what the emailed detailed order receipt shows. I am really surprised that these hidden costs were not clarified during the ordering process. I hope GundryMD can clarify this and make their order process more transparent. I hope to be compensated as well for the inconvenience it caused. My wife was mad when she shelved unexpected Canadian $19.02 to pay Canada Post during delivery/pickup. Anyway, it is too early to tell if the supplement works. I’ll keep you updated on my next post.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Hello Czarjeff, Aria here with Gundry MD. Thank you for your review. I can definitely understand how frustrating it can be when customs charges are incurred on an order. Unfortunately, as these charges come straight from your countries post office, we have no way of controlling how much or if they get incurred on your order. You pay these charges directly to your government's post office and not to Gundry MD. Please keep in mind that customs charges are incurred on about 20% of orders at random. If you would like a full refund for your original purchase price directly from our website, please email me at Aria@gundrymd.com with your order number. Thank you.

Insatiable appetite, anyone else?

By F L., Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada, Verified Reviewer

I've been on taking Total Restore for about three weeks now and am wondering if anyone else has noticed an increase in their appetite? I take three in the morning with breakfast and then I can't stop snacking which is not usual for me. Other than that I'm not noticing any changes other than maybe a bit of stomach discomfort. I've done my research over the years on the product ingredients and this is what made me so keen on finding an all-in-one capsule. I'll finish my month and see if my appetite stabilizes, but I am tempted to return the other two bottles. And yes with currency exchange and customs, it is a very pricey supplement to be on.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Hi F L, thank you for taking the time to leave a review! I'm sorry to hear that you haven't seen the changes you had hoped for. An increase in appetite is not a normal side effect of Total Restore. As always, we ask that you consult your physician prior to beginning any new supplement. If you are unable to continue taking Total Restore, please email me at aria@gundrymd.com and I'd be happy to refund you.

Just received

By Erika D., New Hampshire, Verified Reviewer

I just received my shipment in the mail today. I have yet to try it out. I watched a video and it said it helped with more energy and weight loss. I am battling fatigue and weight gain on a regular basis along with migraines with no explanation from the doctor as everything is "normal." I'm seeing a lot of reviews on the gut and regulation and am now wondering if I made the wrong purchase, as that wasn't my focus. I will try it out and see how it goes. The pills are really big, and I have an issue taking large capsules, so that is a little concerning to see if this will even be doable.

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Hi Erika, supporting your gut is key to keeping you healthy, comfortable, and energized every day. Total Restore was formulated to boost feelings of energy and focus while helping combat out-of-control food cravings. As always, we ask that you consult your physician prior to starting any new supplement, and with your physician's approval, I encourage you to give Total Restore a try! If you are unimproved or dissatisfied with the product, we will always stand by our 90-day money back guarantee so please don't hesitate to reach out to me at aria@gundrymd.com and I'd be happy to issue you a full refund. In regards to the pill size, Total Restore will be just as effective if you prefer to open up the pill and add the contents to your morning coffee or smoothie. I hope this helped!

Customs

By Dorothy M., Oldham, United Kingdom, Verified Reviewer

Was so looking forward to trying this new and inspiring treatment, but unfortunately, the Customs charge was almost a much as the cost of the 6 bottles I had already paid for. They wanted me to pay £80 before I could collect the parcel. All too much for me I'm afraid, so no choice but to let it be returned to sender, and hope that I get my money refunded. So disappointed.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Dorothy, I'm very sorry to hear that you weren't able to give Total Restore a try. Unfortunately, we have no control over a country's customs charges as only about 10% of incoming packages are selected for customs. Gundry MD is not responsible for customs charges as we have no idea when or how much you will be charged. We'll be sure to refund your order when we receive the products. If you have any questions or concerns, please email me at aria@gundrymd.com.

Cholesterolemia, statins, and this product.

By Susan H., Gibsons, British Columbia, Canada, Verified Reviewer

I am seeing an Endocrinologist for a genetic disorder (cholesterolemia) and 40% blockages in some arteries. On statins and blood pressure medication, high level of activity including swimming, spin, and distant cycling and hiking. I ordered this product and have received it believing it was part of a healthy heart strategy for lowering blood cholesterol and gut health. I have a serious concern about the interaction with grapefruit seed and now may need to make a return of my order. Many doctors do not like supplements and so consulting with the Endocrinologist? He says...take Berberine, high dosages of Niaspan (prescription no longer available in Canada), Mediterranean diet, lots of olive oil: no grapefruit!

Sneaky return policy... BEWARE

By John D., Ohio, Verified Reviewer

I ordered Total Restore, and took it as directed. I follow the directions to a tee. Now my review is more about the return policy than it is about the product. This product may help people, it just didn't help me.

Having said that, here is where this company insulted my intelligence. I ordered Total Restore, I took it for about 6 weeks. I was not happy with the results and asked how I could start my 100% guarantee. Their first response was keep taking the pills we will give 30 extra days to return the product. I declined and emailed them no thank you, please start my return. Eventually they sent me a email with an attachment to print the return label. So off I go to the UPS store. I send one full unopened bottle, one partially used bottle back. This is at my expense, but I am fine with this. About a week later I receive an email I am receiving $89.90 back to my account. The problem is I paid $134.00. I then email them "Why am I not receiving my full refund!" Here is where I lost all respect for this company. Their reply was I didn't return thier EMPTY bottle back. No where was I informed to keep the bottles in the return policy. You know why? That is a rhetorical question. Luckily for me I kept the empty bottle, but now I have to box this little empty bottle and drive all the way back to the UPS store and pay shipping again.

By the way, they told me after their handlers inspect the bottle, I will receive the rest of my refund. Most of you will realize this little scam, the rest of you GOOD LUCK!

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Company Response from Gundry MD

Hi John, as it is industry standard, we do ask that you return the products if requesting a full refund, as to ensure that you gave the product a fair trial. As an extra convenience, we offer a 40% refund to customers who do not decide to send back the product containers. I am so sorry for the confusion. I will personally ensure you get a full refund; please email at aria@gundrymd.com and I will begin the refund process, no need to send anything back. Again, I want to apologize for the inconvenience. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Not anything like I had hoped.

By Penny K., Milwaukee, WI, Verified Reviewer

I have to write that I was very disappointed in the Total Restore product. Dr. Gundry claims you will immediately feel better after taking it. I have taken this product for almost a full month. Three tablets a day. The reason I was skeptical was because I have been burned many times before with health quick fixes. I had recently had a colon at-home health test and all was negative, but from time to time I would get digestive issues, even taking a good probiotic. I found that this product did nothing it promised. In fact, I started getting constipated. I drink lots and lots of fresh Artisan Water, and thought this product may help with my digestive issues. I stopped taking my probiotic when I started taking Total Restore then. It didn't do anything. I am glad I only bought a one month supply. My advice is eat well, lots of fresh vegetables and fruits (stay away from starches and sugars, and high carbohydrates) and drink good clean waters with lemon, herbal teas/coffee, and take a good probiotic, exercise, and you will do just as well. Save the $70 and put it in your pocket for good organic produce! I didn't ask for my money back (read here people are having a hard time getting a credit) but instead will finish the product, but not recommend it to people. It didn't do a thing for me. But I suppose everyone is different. It did not make my blood pressure to go down either.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Penny, I want to apologize that Total Restore was not that right fit for you. I want to note that Total Restore - and all Gundry MD formulas - are never meant to replace a healthy diet and exercise. It should not be taken as a quick health fix. We understand that everybody is different so our products may work well for some but not others which is why we have our money-back guarantee in place. I do want to thank you for giving the product a try! I have gone ahead and initiated a refund for the order number that you attached with this review. If you have any other questions or concerns, please email me at aria@gundrymd.com and I'd be more than happy to assist you.

Cramping

By Deborah L., Albany, CA, Verified Reviewer

My husband and I started taking Total Restore for three days now. Three capsules a day. I had severe stomach cramping the first night. Day two was ok and helped with constipation. Day three my stomach is cramping again. I am stopping.

Very disappointed because we paid $276.35 for 6 bottles.

Love his cookbook Plant Paradox. Will stick to this plan.

Length of Use: Less than 3 months

Experiencing better general health

By Davtd Walden, Texas, Verified Reviewer

Since I have begun Dr. Gundry's diet plan and taking Total Restore, I have lost over 40 lbs and I feel great. I am a 70-year-old overweight guy who has tried without success to lose weight and improve my health. I watched the film where Dr. Gundry talked about Lectins and leaky gut. I started his program, and eliminated the foods that he specified. I am doing great and plan to continue this program until I reach my optimum weight. Thank you!

One problem: They hawked Dr. G's book "Diet Evolution" in the video. I bought this book on Amazon, and after reading some of it, I tossed it in the trash. I found that the things that were working for me were mostly contradicted in the book. Although the book was written ten or so years ago, and ideas have changed somewhat, I don't think they should promote a book that doesn't follow present guidelines.

Without being overly harsh, their company appears to be commercial, and overly concerned with the almighty dollar rather than genuinely concerned with the health of people. I thought this first when they substituted Dr. Gundry's talk with a professional smooth tongue. Even though the program has been good for me, I totally wasted $15 and lost faith in them!

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Company Response from Gundry MD

Hi Davtd, I'm Aria from Gundry MD. Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a review about your experience with Total Restore. I am so happy to hear that you are experiencing such a positive improvement in your overall health while adopting Dr. Gundry's diet plan, as well as Total Restore! I would like to touch on some of the other comments you made regarding "Diet Evolution". I am really sorry to hear that you did not enjoy this book. I would like to mention that Dr. Gundry's new book, "The Plant Paradox" reflects more up-to-date research and findings.

We do understand that Dr. Gundry's findings are pretty groundbreaking, so they might come with a bit of criticism, but as you can see from the thousands of testimonials, people are experiencing positive results while following The Plant Paradox. In addition, I am really upset to hear about how you feel about our Gundry MD itself. We are solely focused on improving the health and happiness of all of our customers, and we are in no way a company that focuses on "The Almighty Dollar". That would be highly unethical. Again, I am really sorry to hear that you feel this way but I hope I cleared up any confusion. Please email me at Aria@gundrymd.com if you would like to further discuss any concerns or issues you may be experiencing.

I feel no difference

By Dionne Chinn, Reno, NV, Verified Reviewer

I'm sorry, Dr. Grundy, I am an active 50-year-old woman who had her first pregnancy at age 38 and twins at age 40, with three Laparoscopic procedures to remove uterine fibroid prior to that. I have this horrible belly that keeps growing despite my best efforts. My energy level has always been high, I eat very well, alcohol in moderation, I exercise regularly, and take NO medications. I hate having this extra weight, and NO ONE can seem to help me with my issue.

Thank you for trying though!

Need more answers

By Gayle C., Patutahi, New Zealand, Verified Reviewer

I want to have more clarity on the timing when taking the capsules. The instructions are three per day. Is that one with each meal, and if so, is that before with or after food? Should they be all taken at one time?

I have been taking them when I remember, and sometimes that means three hours after eating. I have had a range of side effects from headaches early on in the treatment, weird and more frequent bowel motions, nausea and energy plummeting. If I take one later in the evening, I can’t get to sleep. Mostly I have been fine and have definitely lowered my craving for sweet items. I am still waiting for weight loss though.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Company Response from Gundry MD

May 29, 2018

Hi Gayle, my name is Aria with Gundry MD. Thank you so much for your question! Simply take three easy-to-swallow capsules each day, we suggest that you take all three capsules with your biggest meal of the day. You can also take a single capsule with each meal if you’d prefer. As always, we ask that you consult your primary physician prior to ensure that Total Restore is right for you. If you have not done this yet, please do so right away.

Since everybody is different, we recognize that Total Restore may work for some but not others, although many of our customers experience the positive benefits of Total Restore right away. It typically takes three months to experience maximum benefits. We stand by our 90-day money back guarantee, so please feel free to email me at Aria@gundrymd.com with any further concerns, questions, or if you’d like to discuss our return policy.
