Bad idea

The food wasn't fresh, limp produce. Started with a promotion, that disappeared, my Groupon was rejected. The food is all roasted with oil. I never use that much oil. Not healthy at all, food gots monotonous. Very disappointed.

Dishonest

I received a $60 gift card after the passing of my daughter. When I went to redeem it they refused, telling me all gift cards were suspended until after the Coronavirus. I chatted with them twice to explain my situation and how much my family needed these meals, and I was told there were no exceptions. Eventually they hung up on me twice. Horrible company with no compassion. Stay away.

Multiple identical charges

I recently noticed two charges on my credit card linked to HelloFresh. These were identical charges, not an additional charge for gourmet ingredients. This was also not a shadow payment like what you might see when prepaying at a gas station - no cancellation of payment or repayment. Straight up two payments for one week.

Contacted customer service two weeks ago and after 4 customer service representatives asking me the same questions and asking for the same info, I am still not any closer to getting my money back for one of those two payments. I don’t enjoy giving away nearly $170 to a company for nothing...

What should have been resolved quickly and easily, hasn’t been. And because of this, my frustration is growing every time they pass me off to someone else who won’t do anything.

I hate to say it, but this is pure theft/fraud. I am charged for literally nothing and can’t get my money back? I have also asked to have my account canceled. Let’s see if they allow that?

Late delivery by days

My order was delayed by at least 3 days. Instead of a refund, they gave me free breadsticks for my next order. Should have refunded all my money.

Scam-like advertising!

I signed for a trial of 3 deliveries.

Was able to choose two and the third one was sent randomly (fine, my error, their website is designed the way you just focus on buying more and add-ons not actually managing your subscription).

Anyway, to my surprise a month later they sent another box which I hadn't ordered and they charged me for it! More to that, when I refused the delivery, they said I was supposed to let them know 5 days in advance?!

So for 9 meals they charged me more than £100! This is more expensive than takeaway!

And it looks like despite the fact that I canceled the subscription, they will keep charging me (their business model is 5 days for us to take your money but 1 day for actual order processing)!

Scam. Beware. Their customer support can only apologise and ignore your queries, without even registering the complaint!

Switching to Gusto!

Terrible customer service

I spoke with someone in July who told me I had until Oct 31st to cancel my subscription. Then when I got charged on the 27th, I called to see why, and they said, "No, you need to call BEFORE the next shipment date." I contacted customer service (who had the convo on file) and they did nothing to help the 79-dollar charge I was issued, for something I did not order. This is not the first time I've had bad customer service with them.

Good, as long as it was delivered to our house

We had a good beginning with Hello Fresh. However, when the delivery service changed, things started going downhill. Sometimes ingredients would be missing, and we'd have to go to the grocery store to buy them. Another time, they delivered the package to our downstairs' neighbors. By the time we got it, there were tons of ants crawling all over the rotten food.

I called to let them know that it had been delivered to the wrong address, but they insisted that it had been delivered in front of a "red door." I told them I didn't have a red door. When this happened more than once, we decided to cancel our service. It wasn't worth the hassle.

Diabolical

Diabolical and absolutely criminal!

16 months ago I had a very pushy door to door salesperson push me into signing up for this service. I had one box, it was delivered to my front door in the middle of the street and sat there all day as I was at work, despite instructions to deliver to the rear of the property. I made a complaint and got a mere sorry in a message for this. As I don't want to spend £40 ($51.72) per week on food to be left in the street and could not trust this wouldn't happen again, so I haven't used the service.

Come to today, 16 months later, and £39 ($50.42) has been charged to my bank account. I've received no email or phone call that this would happen despite my account being inactive for 16 months! You would think this is odd, wouldn't you? And surely flag up and possibly try to call the customer in question to see if this is an actual order or just an oversight on such a long time inactive account? Well, they don't do that. I have a box of majorly overpriced food (meals that I have not and would not have selected) being delivered on Tuesday, even after pleading with two very patronizing ladies on the phone, the highest being a team leader (apparently you can't contact anyone above her).

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Not fresh

The first and only box I received confirmed why I was skeptical. I ordered a shrimp, beef, and pork dish. I decided to cook the shrimp dish first. It was not fresh. It smelled strong and despite that, I cooked it anyway. It had a strong taste. The green beans were wilted but useable. The green beans were also not fresh. We had to cut those parts off.

My husband cooked the pork dish. It was fine. I cooked the beef dish. It also had green beans. I couldn't use it. We received the box on Wednesday and I cooked it 3 days later.

I was hoping this would work for us because we are busy folks. Unfortunately, the quality isn't there. I canceled future orders.

End of subscription

The food and meals were delicious. However, it was overpriced. We tried to justify it, but we could not continue to.

When I canceled my order five days before my next delivery, I was still charged for another week of meals. I would never go back to this company nor would I recommend them because of this.

I attempted to have this resolved with the company chat without any luck.

Disappointed

I have been receiving deliveries for the past few months. Initially, it was fantastic, fresh produce, delivered in a timely manner. However, the past few deliveries were awful. I received the wrong meals or half of a meal's ingredients would be in the meal then the other ingredients were wrong. The produce wasn't fresh, with dry limes or limp green onions. I have skipped weeks of meals because of this. Another reason why I've skipped delivery was the meals are the same as when I initially started the plan, and I'm already paying a high price and don't like the fact that I have to pay extra money to get a premium/different meal. Now I'm just disappointed.
