Failed delivery

So I have been a regular consumer of HelloFresh for the past few months. There were a few bad ingredients but for the most part not bad until this week.

On Monday my usual delivery did not arrive, so I reach out and they say it should be there by 8 pm. We are bummed and starving but decide to have a snack and eat late. 8 o'clock comes and goes and no delivery. Tuesday I reach out again, they say they are very sorry and it will be there by 8 pm. Need I repeat the scenario? Nothing arrives, and we once again are ill-prepared, and it's late, and we have no interest in going out to eat at 9 pm.

Fast forward to today (Wednesday) still no food and HelloFresh is still sorry that there is a problem with the delivery. At no point am I told definitively if the food is coming eventually, if at all.

Customer service tells me that they are very sorry and they will apply this week's payment to next week's order, like it was some kind of gift. At first, I'm thinking at least I'm getting a free week, but wait a second, no, I'm not! It's my money! So I get completely screwed this week, and for my trouble, I will just pay next week as usual. Customer service continued to make it sound like a credit or a gift. Do they think I am stupid? I said no thanks, I would try Blue Apron and their response was "Ok, sorry to see you go."

I am sorry I passed on their cards to my friends, and I will be really embarrassed when they get screwed over.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Way too much trash

I have tried in vain to get HelloFresh to minimize the amount of trash that is generated by their products, but they refuse to change. The food comes wrapped in unrecyclable plastic bubble wrap. The other food is wrapped in unrecyclable packaging. They need to use a recyclable cardboard, and other packaging that is recyclable or bio-degradable.

Mushroom Gravy Chicken

The Chicken meal was delicious; I have enough for a whole other meal. I live by myself. I was disappointed, I thought I ordered the steak meal, but instead I got the meatloaf. Can you let them know about the mix-up? I apologize if I'm wrong, but I wouldn't have ordered the meatloaf meal since I can't eat potatoes. Can you please check the order and see if I made the mistake?

Great idea but needs more variety in menu selection and bigger portions

I have only been with HelloFresh now for about four weeks. I really like the idea of the meal prep kits, but I'm getting a little bored already. I would like to see more variety of selection in the vegetables or be able to swap out a vegetable (green beans) on a meal if I'm already having that vegetable on one of my meal selections for the week.

As much as I like burgers and tacos, I'd like to see more substantial items on the menu for the price point per meal as well as larger portions. Some items just aren't enough for two people. One of the meals had brown buttered corn, and we received a head of corn for two people. It was barely enough for one.

All in all, the food is tasty and simple to fix, and I like the idea of being able to skip a week if I don't like ANY of the selection for the week. In four weeks I have already had to skip a week. And it looks like there will be one more skipped week in July. This leaves me with having to figure out a full week's meals instead of my normal two days.

I really hope they take this feedback to heart and are able to make some changes to keep this delivery service HelloFresh in terms of meal ideas.

Terrible customer service

I ordered HelloFresh for the first time a few weeks ago. I decided to try HelloFresh because of a promo code I received where I was supposed to get $20.00 off my first three orders. After my first order, I was charged full price plus more. I did not understand why so I contacted customer service to help explain it to me. My experience was AWFUL! The female who answered my call was so rude. At one point I asked her to please stop being rude and to be more patient to help me understand the charges. She did not hear one word I was saying. After the call, I requested her name and to speak with a supervisor. I'm not the person who takes the time to make a complaint like this. I'm a firm believer that everyone has bad days but I just could not let this one go.

I was forced to leave a message with a supervisor, Jason. Jason did return my phone call a few hours later but I was in a meeting. I returned his phone call later that day and was placed on hold for an extended amount of time and transferred to someone else. Apparently Jason had left early that day. I was told Jason would have to handle my call and that he would not be able to return my call until Monday. Although, I thought this was ridiculous considering how big of office HelloFresh has and how many employees it has, I told them I would be patient and wait with my concerns until Monday.

Monday comes and guess what? No return phone call! I contacted customer service on Tuesday for follow up and was put on hold for another 40 minutes. My call was taken by Yesemia. I again explained my reason for calling. She assured me someone would counsel the employee who was rude to me. When I asked if the conversation was documented and asked if she knew what employee I was concerned with, she read off a name that was not correct. So you're going to counsel the wrong employee on their behavior while answering phone calls? I asked her if Jason would please follow up with me and contact me via phone. She said Jason would contact me via email or phone. I again requested a phone call. Yesemia then basically told me he would do whatever he had time for. Again, nothing was accomplished. No wonder the employees are rude! No one holds them accountable for their behavior! So here I wait...

After my first purchase from HelloFresh, I was so impressed with their product, I got five people to sign up as new customers, but then this happened! I regret so badly getting them any new business, and I will highly recommend to those friends to cancel this service and go with a food delivery service that actually values their customers.

How is this worth the price?

My mom decided to try HelloFresh a while ago. She liked it, but I wasn't impressed; I thought the recipes too simple, the portions too small, and the price too high. Mom likes to look for recipes online, so the planning angle wasn't worth it. The price seemed awfully high, so the value angle didn't work. And then it's not easy, because we still had to cook.

Okay, so now we're coming up to Thanksgiving. Mom suggested we try the HelloFresh box, so I said I'd look into it. They say it serves 8-10; given their idea of decent portion sizes, I'd say it might stretch to 8, but not to 10. You don't get much for the $160 or so (including shipping). You get a respectable-sized turkey, but when you figure out you're paying about $60 for a turkey you could get up the street at Aldi for under $15, you start to wonder what you're paying for. The sides and dessert are probably pretty good, but for that much money, I expect something more than bread stuffing, green beans, mashed potatoes, canned cranberry sauce, and an apple crisp. None of this stuff is prepared; they say the whole thing can be done in 4 hours, but it looks like a tough 4 hours to me. None of us wants to spend the day in the kitchen, and we REALLY don't want to spend another day cleaning up after - at those prices, couldn't they include foil pans? Couldn't they throw in some dinner rolls?

We're going to stick with having it catered. The price is a tad lower, and we get what we want and as much of it as we want.

Beware

I was notified of a shipment today from HelloFresh and just spent 45 minutes on their chat and talking to a live person only to be told they WOULD NOT ISSUE A CREDIT because I had missed their deadline. Yes, I missed it but only by 24 hours. I have many things to do which does not include checking the fine print to see if I've obeyed their rules. I have never heard of such hardnosed customer service policies.

If you are considering using HelloFresh, DON'T. No matter how good their food may be, their customer service policies are lousy.

Overpriced and bad policy about cancellation

I tried HalloFresh and was called to see if I wanted to give it another go when receiving a discount of $20 on the next 2 boxes. I told them that I don't need it but thought okay, give it another try, then 3 - 4 days before the delivery, I changed my mind and wanted to cancel. But was told that I am forced to still get the box that is on the order because I didn't cancel 1 week prior on Wednesday night.

I am angry that I now need to accept the order and pay for it, when I have no interest in having it, simply because their policy forces me to do so and their customer service refused to cancel it for the upcoming delivery.

Won't be ordering from them again, that's for sure.

Bad idea

The food wasn't fresh, limp produce. Started with a promotion, that disappeared, my Groupon was rejected. The food is all roasted with oil. I never use that much oil. Not healthy at all, food gots monotonous. Very disappointed.

Horrible customer service

The customer service was terrible. I called due to a charge on my credit card. The first week was given to me as a gift, and I was not aware while creating my profile and putting my credit card info that it would automatically be charged week after week. They refused to refund me and would not stop the delivery. I will never order from them again, and the customer service guy treated me like I was stupid.

End of subscription

The food and meals were delicious. However, it was overpriced. We tried to justify it, but we could not continue to.

When I canceled my order five days before my next delivery, I was still charged for another week of meals. I would never go back to this company nor would I recommend them because of this.

I attempted to have this resolved with the company chat without any luck.
