Awful scratch feeling and dry

By Maddie V., Brooklyn, NY, Verified Reviewer

I've tried Hubble for five days now and they are terrible. I thought perhaps the fit isn't right since they immediately feel like they scratch my eyes every time I blink, but that's not all. They dry up on the eye immediately. I should have read others' reviews before ordering since I now know they are made with old material that is inferior to Acuvue (my brand for decades). I hope I can cancel tomorrow, but I've also read they may try to scam and charge me. I hope not.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Hubble Contacts are terrible quality!

By Amanda Z., Alberta, Canada, Verified Reviewer

My prescription is OD: -3.50 and OS: -2.50. No astigmatism. I found the contacts to be extremely uncomfortable. It felt like there was sand in my eyes the entire time. I tried them out for three days. Each day, I could only keep them in my eyes for no longer than an hour. They were unbearable. I went back to the original brand I was using (Acuvue Oaysis), and I learned my lesson never opt for the cheaper option! Your eyes are important and so they worth the extra money.

They are a scam

By Crystal H., Elkton, MD, Verified Reviewer

This place is a scam! I had asked how to cancel my order months ago. I was told on Facebook to email help@hubblecontacts.com, so I did. Well come to find out five months later they’ve been taking money from my account and I don’t even have contacts that were supposedly sent.

So first I’m told they’d refund me $25 for each month. They charged a $5 restocking fee and won’t return the shipping either. So I ask to speak with a supervisor. I was told I’d be called back today. Lie. She’s now out of the office. So now I’m speaking to Maeshelle, a supervisor in the Philippines. She not only said "f**k" to me but she’s now saying they’re only refunding me three months at $25.

This place is not legit. They never obtained a valid prescription because the last one I got was four years ago. The contacts are cheap and irritate your eyes. I’ve even had to go to the emergency room to get one taken out. Don’t get contacts from this fraudulent company.

Horrible experience

By Jeff V., British Columbia, Canada, Verified Reviewer

I was offered a free box with no commitments aside from $4 shipping. I heard of this brand and wanted to trial them, but the next thing I know I'm subscribed to a service I can't cancel. I canceled the service, returned the contacts using the return shipping label THEY provided and they claimed not to receive it, and stated I needed to provide proof I returned it, but the return label they provide doesn't include tracking...what the heck?

AVOID!

Beware of the charges!

By Natalia P., Texas, Verified Reviewer

I signed on for the free two weeks. When I did (since I do not wear my contacts every day), I skipped all the deliveries for the following months all the way through January 2019 until I knew if these were going to work for me or not. Sadly, I tried wearing the contacts on multiple occasions, and they just weren't right for me. This is fine, I knew they didn't do astigmatism contacts but decided to try the free trial in case it worked (I don't have a lot of astigmatisms).

A couple of weeks later, I get an email saying my card was declined. I log on to my bank and there it is a charge for $36. I called their customer service to get my money back. They said just to send the pack back unopened and I would get a $26 reimbursement. I asked why they were not giving me a full refund and he said because it was just the way they did things. I asked to speak with a manager because this was their mistake and did not find it ok that they messed up, charged me and wouldn't give me my full refund. He said the manager was busy and asked for my number. I asked when she would be calling and he wouldn't even tell me a ballpark. Then he hung up on me.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! Now I am out $36 until who knows how long and I'm going to end up paying them for contacts that don't even work on me.

Don't do it

By T G., Memphis, TN, Verified Reviewer

They do not, I repeat, do NOT stand by their word or product. First, they went into my bank account twice, then I return some contacts and they still haven't returned my money, and now I can't get in touch with them. I give them 5 thumbs down.

Unhealthy

By Andrea R., Albuquerque, NM, Verified Reviewer

Today I went to the optometrist because my eyes have been extremely dry, red, and sensitive to light after using Hubble Contacts for a year. My doctor told me the reason my eyes are this way is because the material Hubble uses is trash and it is from the material used when contacts first came out and people were having a lot of issues with them at that time.

When she examined my eyes she said that it looked like someone took SANDPAPER to my eyes. She said they were extremely inflamed and that all of my issues were stemming from the bad contacts. Luckily she said my eyes would heal in about four months. I had used Hubble for about a year, and I noticed that they were uncomfortable, but the price is what sold me.

As she gave me nice contacts to leave with and my eyes literally sighed with relief. Please put your health first, not your wallet.

Poor customer service

By Tim U., Pennsylvania, Verified Reviewer

This company sucks for doing what they say they are going to do. Contacts are nothing great, and upon contacting them to cancel the subscription I was told the simply return to sender and they would cancel. They continued to ship and charge my card even though multiple months and additional time were expended trying to cancel. I ended up canceling my credit card just so they would not have a place to charge.

Getting the credits back? They did not even respond to our credit card disputes and fortunately, Cabelas Visa is the stand-up company they are. Unless you want average contacts and have the time to argue for your credits, I would suggest going another path.

Bad service, inflexible return policy.

By Jason P., Oakland, CA, Verified Reviewer

After the trial, you are auto-opted into the full subscription. While that is reasonably standard with trials, I did not want to continue and requested to return the next supply I received. They refused, saying once the outer shipping package is open they could not accept it, because it's a medical device. The outer boxes for the contacts were still in untouched condition.

Their support was unwilling to budge on a return or refund. I'll stick with another company, like 1-800 Contacts, which has no such limitation.

This is a scam, you get what you pay for

By Amy W., Knoxville, TN, Verified Reviewer

While Hubble's website says that they work for those that have mild astigmatism, this is in fact false advertisement, and extremely misleading. My astigmatism is so mild that my optometrist has prescribed me the same prescription for both eyes. However, with Hubble contact, there is an obvious difference in spite of their false claims that people with mild astigmatism don't see a difference.

They also claim that their contacts are of high quality. However, mine was the most uncomfortable pair of lenses I have worn in over 20 years of wearing contact lenses. There were numerous times that I had to throw out a lens that was irritating my eye because of the odd fit. Although their lenses are daily wear, further research shows that the material they use isn't the best for the eyes and reduces the level of oxygen to the eyes. So for people who actually care about the wellness of their eyes, it's not the best option. It's cheap because it's a sub-par product.

When I called to cancel my subscription, I was told that I already had a box on the way and that all I had to do was write, "return to sender" on the box to receive a full refund. This is also a false statement. More than three months passed, I had to contact the company in order to inquire about where my refund was. They promptly refunded me, but deducted the $3 shipping fee, which seemed reasonable, as well as a $5 fee to take the unused boxes of contacts out of the shipped box I paid for in order to put it back on a shelf. They call this $5 fee a "restocking charge" which was not mentioned to me by the rep that canceled my subscription.

I consider it highly superstitious that they claim to have contacts that people with mild astigmatism can use, but then fine people for not being able to wear the contact they claimed were suitable for people with astigmatism. A customer shouldn't be fined because the product wasn't good. They are falsely advertising in order to maximize profits from the market and will get a profit out of you, even if you can't use their contacts. It's a scam.

I don't recommend this company at all. I was extremely disappointed in them. They are not appropriate for people with even mild astigmatism. I found it difficult and annoying to drive, work, and do normal everyday tasks because of how poor quality these contacts are. It's better to see if your optometrist has a contract with a vendor that sells high-quality contacts and also offer low monthly charges for contacts that are shipped to you monthly.

My doctor didn't recommend these contacts at all, which says a lot about the quality of the product. The only good thing that came out of this company was that my doctor was able to work with me in getting a monthly program to get my Acuvue contacts for cheaper than what Hubble sells their including the shipping costs. So if anything, this company has provided some good competition and enabled other legitimate companies to provide monthly services. I would not recommend these contacts to anyone. You only get two eyes, don't waste your money on cheap medical devices that actual doctors would never sell you because they are under the Hippocratic oath to first to do no harm.

Money stolen from account

By John W., Fort Wayne, IN, Verified Reviewer

Do not ever order anything from Hubble Contacts. Back in May 2018, I decided to try their $3 offer. As soon as I received them, I decided to cancel the order and close my account. I called them and told them I'd like to terminate and close my account. The next month I received a box from them and was charged. I called and told them I canceled my account, and I no longer want anything from them. Now three months later, I wake up and check my bank account balance and find that my account was once more charged by them. I received an NSF fee because of it. I was livid because I know I canceled my Hubble account. I called the Philippines call center and just spent the last 20 minutes on the phone trying to get her to understand that I closed my account three months ago. I didn't order anything from them. She said my account was still active and she not only could not reverse the charges but she could not refund my NSF fee.

She promised that as soon as I returned the package, they sent me that my account would be refunded the $35 and my Hubble account would be closed. I told her that I wanted it put there on my Hubble account that I will never, ever order anything from them again. So, do not ever order anything from Hubble Contacts. They are scammers that just want your money.

P.S. My bank has blocked them from charging me again and they will refund my NSF fee once Hubble reverses the charge.
