Ok, but the drop in quality is not worth it for me.

By Lee Walder, Quebec, Canada, Verified Reviewer

I feel like many others; blurry vision, most likely from the high BC value.

I wore my usual contact on one eye and Hubble on the other. No competition. Hubble does not fit me well enough, leaving me feeling dry-eyed after the 4-hour mark and blurry for the first hour. I often have to throw away a lense or two as they are not comfortable enough to wear.

After trying the product for 90 days, I have found that I cannot get used to this lense and will not be downgrading my vision for the reduced price.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Not thrilled with contacts or process

By Keely Fogarty, Florida, Verified Reviewer

I did the trial because I’m trying to figure out if I use my eye doctor or try a different company. I got the free trial set of 15 contacts and only wore one pair because I did not like them. Then I noticed a charge for $33 for the subscription, which I did not purposely enroll in because I wanted to test the contacts before deciding Hubble was right for me.

I personally am not thrilled with them at all. After 7 hours of wearing them, my eyes are as dry as they were in hour one as they are in hour 7. I've worn contacts since 2005, and these contacts make my eyes feel like I’m wearing old contacts or have driven through the night with my contacts in. Instead of noticing the charge on my account, I wish there would have been an email from Hubble to let me know that I would start the subscription before I was charged and the boxes actually went out. Or an email asking me how I felt about them! I was unaware that a subscription started from the trial. I only have two emails from Hubble, the shipping email (with no disclaimers) and my cancellation order.

I’ve also tried a free trial glasses from Warby Parker and I feel much more cared for from them than with Hubble. WP let me know the glasses were coming, they got them back when I shipped them back, then a week later they followed up to make sure I was still interested in the glasses before I decided to order them.

I think this process could improve greatly with a follow-up email asking me what I thought about how the contacts felt, how long did I wear them, what worked and what didn’t, did my eye stay moist, etc. Eye care is not exactly something to rope someone in to, and I’m not super thrilled about how this process took place.

Bad product, bad experience

By Gertrude Perkins, Oxford, United Kingdom, Verified Reviewer

I've been wearing lenses for over 10 years, but prices had, of late, begun to bite. In 2015 I tried DaySoft and after a couple of months started getting recurring eye infections. My optician was horrified and prescribed Biotrue, warning never to get cheap knock-offs again. But austerity is as austerity does, and I was tempted back in by the pretty pastel packaging and user-friendly website of Hubble.

My free box arrived, and it really was pretty, but the lenses turned out to be horrendously uncomfortable! Worse even than DaySoft. You feel like you have grit in your eye from the first hour, and your eyes water uncontrollably at half hour intervals. Not conducive to being in public or trying to get anything done without looking like a weeping lunatic.

I was set on canceling my subscription (which I'd skipped by a few months because I hadn't plucked up enough self-hatred to use up the free box) when an unmarked parcel arrived at my home. I didn't know what was in the box so opened it (duh!), and it was a whole month's worth of Hubble contacts, which I had no intention using. Then I remembered the policy outlined on their website which says once the OUTER PACKAGING of a parcel has been removed, even if lenses inside haven't even been taken out of said outer packaging, it cannot be returned or refunded. These are a total waste of money and genuinely bad for your eyes. They market their 100% recyclable packaging, well, what cardboard box isn't fully recyclable?

I encourage you all to have some self-respect and stay away from Hubble - nothing is worth that level of discomfort.

Not what you expect

By Seray D., Ontario, Canada, Verified Reviewer

Everything seems great when you get a one-month free box, but after one month you have to cancel the subscription by calling their hotline, which is only from 9-5 on weekdays. If you forget to subscribe, you will have to pay $44 plus shipping for contact lenses that are not quality at all. As a long time contact lenses user, I have to honestly say they are uncomfortable and it feels like its poking your eye. I can't tell how many times I had to remove my lenses the first hour as it was hurting too much. Overall the free trial is good and all for beginners, but for a so much cheaper price, you can find better lenses.

Commitment to subscription, read before purchase!

By Y T., United Kingdom, Verified Reviewer

Easy to sign up, fast delivery. Terrible service and contact.

When you enter your card details for the trial, you are also entered for a monthly subscription (which of course you can "choose to cancel at any time"). BUT they make it near impossible for you to do so as you cannot manually do this yourself on the website, instead you have to CALL them during their working hours with a reason that they accept, otherwise, they will not process the cancellation.

For me, this was impossible, so I ended up having to email multiple times so they could remove my details and to remove my account completely. This was done by different people who seem to be working from different countries e.g., the Philippines.

I was lucky to have had noticed this fault of their cancellation process and dealt with it quickly, others were charged automatically as it was out of their own hands.

FAULTS:

Unable to manually remove details, unable to cancel orders, and unable to write your own reviews on their website. Seems fishy doesn't it? All negative/truthful reviews are made outside their website as they prevent them from being made in the first place. It's a shame really.

To me, if you want a price similar to what Hubble offers, Acuvue moist contacts will do the job and offer better services, they don't hide anything, and it is a trusted brand that I have been using for years.

Super difficult to cancel contract

By Raphael G., Los Angeles, CA, Verified Reviewer

I signed up with Hubble to try out if the hype of "affordable" contact lenses holds up with quality and comfort. It does not. The lenses are okay for a short-term solution, but for all-day wear that includes sports activity and indoor/outdoor transitions the lenses become itchy and do not stay moist. Only one curvature is availablebthat does not ideally fit in all eyes. The lense even becomes bothersome in windy or super dry conditions like California or when bicycling.

My biggest struggle, however, is the setup of cancellation policies. Even after sending numerous emails requesting a cancellation my credit card was charged, and I received a shipment of more unusable lenses. I did call in and requested a total stop of all transactions and the salesperson said she would send a free package for my troubles...not sure why sending more lenses would change my mind?

Another month passed, and yet again I was charged and shipped more lenses. Again I send emails and picked up the phone explaining I was DONE with my Hubble experience. I received an email stating that cancellation could only be done by calling the correct phone number (which was not attached to the email).

On my Hubble profile, I changed my info and credit card settings, hoping this would be the end of it, but darn, yesterday another charge occurred, and I received a confirmation that my contacts were on the way!

My original prescription has changed since and yet, this company is force-feeding me uncomfortable lenses I have requested on all levels to be stopped!

The fact a website makes it impossible to simply cancel a subscription should be a warning sign!

I’m sort of amused and equally bothered by this.

Absolute misery, dry, uncomfortable, blurry vision

By Robert W., Maryland, Verified Reviewer

These contacts are the absolute worst. They are uncomfortable from the first instant; they feel as regular contacts do that are worn far past their replacement date. Or contacts that have been in your eyes for 12 hours. My eyes were dry, tired all day and my vision, as a result, was blurry.

Terrible product.

On the plus side, many people have complained about how difficult it was to cancel their subscription, and I had no such problems.

Not very clear

By Dawn W., Knoxville, TN, Verified Reviewer

I used the contacts for over 6 months. Love the price, but the contacts just didn’t have the sharp clarity I prefer. Also, the billing department just can’t seem to get anything right! I provided billing information several times only to find it needed updating, again and again. The worst part was the three incorrect orders I received! I was told I wouldn’t be charged for their mistakes, but that wasn’t true! Had to dispute charges with my credit card company in order to reverse charges. There isn’t any phone number to call when there’s a problem. The only option is to email them and good luck with that because they’re incompetent at reading your entire email!

All in all, I’ve canceled my subscription. It’s just not worth the hassle!

Highly disappointed

By Jordanne C., Salt Lake City, UT, Verified Reviewer

I had very high hopes for Hubble Contacts and I am left so disappointed. I am a contact lens abuser, and I developed an allergy because of it. It was advised that I switch to daily disposable contacts to help ease the irritation of my allergy and when I found Hubble for an amazing price I was all for trying it because other brands can get SO pricey and I can’t afford it. I don’t think they actually contact your eye doctor (I’ve read articles about it) but I was fine with that because I could verify my prescription because I just went to the eye doctor.

The contacts arrived in less than a week. When I put the contacts in, they are SO DRY. Like to the point where I see double vision. I know what it’s like to wear cheap contacts because I’ve been doing it for years, but these are on another level. I did further research, and apparently they use an outdated type of lens that doesn’t provide much oxygen to the eye, and that’s why they can manufacture them so cheaply.

I love the idea behind this company, but these contacts are terrible, and that says a lot for me. I use cheap contacts, and I abuse them, and Hubble is worse than anything I’ve used. It’s worth it to try if you’re curious, but I won’t be using these again!

Disappointed

By Zach A., Pittsburgh, PA, Verified Reviewer

These seem great at first. Cheap contacts delivered to your door. As I continued to use them it seems like 1 in every 5 contacts is defective. By defective I mean it is just very uncomfortable in my eye. I have to remove it and replace it with another. This starts to add up to a lot of wasted contacts.

Terrible company, terrible contacts

By Rachael B., Utah, Verified Reviewer

Terrible product, sketchy customer service.

The contacts themselves are of very poor quality, but cost as much as some of the nicer brands through an optometrist. They easily rip, tear, and dry out your eyes. I also found that they could be difficult to get out some nites and others would move around out of place which is dangerous and uncomfortable.

As for the cancellation process, it is a total joke. If you have 9-5 hours you will have no choice but to ditch work to call them for a bit. You cannot do it online.

Furthermore, they use Visa Card updater services so if you get a new card number and assume you are free to look forward to a charge ten months later that they will refuse to refund.

Bottom line: the company knows they sell sub-par contacts, which is why they use Visa updater services and make cancellation incredibly difficult. All so they can scam you out of your hard-earned money on contacts no one who likes their eyes should use.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend
