Awful

By Kate Newsome, Birmingham, England, Verified Reviewer

After canceling my subscription. I noticed a charge of £27 on my bank statement. I contacted Hubble who told me my subscription was not canceled.

I contacted them to ask what had happened. They said I’d need to send the box back, which was also annoying since I’d been charged and not even received the box yet!

I sent it back and heard nothing. It wasn’t until I emailed them asking when I can expect my refund, I got an email about 10 minutes later stating my refund had been issued.

As for the contacts themselves, too thin, rip easily and uncomfortable.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Rip off

By Laci, Na, Verified Reviewer

First off, when you TRY their free contacts you pay $3 for shipping. Then they charge nearly 40 bucks for contacts without making it clear that you signed up for a subscription. Later I found out their contacts are not for people who need toric contacts. So if you have astigmatism don’t waste your time. I returned my box to sender (that I never knew I ordered) and waited for a full refund only to find out they took $8 and kept it for a restocking fee? They don’t even carry their contact lenses. They do not ship them out either. Your website needs to make it CLEAR that you DO NOT have contacts for astigmatism. Lies and thieves.

Terrible product, terrible service

By Christina Mayer, Detroit, Mi, Verified Reviewer

Hubble Contacts are the WORST! I tried the $3 trial contacts - there were weird debris on every lens, and they were extremely uncomfortable, so I canceled them. Months later they send me a box and charged me $33. I called and complained. They said to write “return to sender” and mail them back, so I did. I waited weeks for a refund that never came. I emailed them and they’ll only refund $25 of the $33.

This is completely wrong and unethical. I’ll be disputing this further. I’ll contact the BBB, my credit card company, and whoever else I need to contact to fight this. BUYER BEWARE. Never order Hubble Contacts!

Does not provide contacts for astigmatism

By Nhu, Georgia, Verified Reviewer

I ordered a trial box and provided them with my prescription that clearly states that it is for astigmatism. They still sent me the trial box and as I had been traveling, I couldn't try them on before they sent me the first order. When I tried them, I realized it was not for astigmatism. I called and Hubble canceled my contacts but told me to return the box for a refund. I waited a month and did not see a refund and had to call; when I did, the customer service said they had received the box, but they refund in bulk so there was a delay, but said she'd issue a refund that day.

When I checked my email, I saw that they just refunded only $25, saying there was a $5 restocking fee and a $3 shipping. I had to call back and explained to the rep that it seems unfair to charge me for these fees when they should've checked my prescription, which clearly says it's for astigmatism. They said there was nothing they could do and that it was my fault for not reading the FAQs, so I said I'll just write a review; they then refunded me the $5 restocking fee, but then did not waive the $3 fee. This seems an entirely incompetent company and poor customer service.

Hubble Contacts are not good for me

By Tara, Tennessee, Verified Reviewer

I tried Hubble Contacts and they seemed comfortable, but they kept blurring up on me, and after a few days, my eyes started hurting. I tried them because of the price, but I don't think the quality may be very good. It seemed like they didn't even last all day on me before they got old. But everyone is different. And I also can't cancel my subscription online; I have to call. And I tried to cancel by email, but couldn't, and felt as though the sir I talked to kind of belittled me and made me feel as though I was dumb after I asked a simple question. But thanks for the samples, I think I might have to stick with these by my eye doctor, but like I said, everyone is different.

Scam alert

By Shane, Wooster, OH, Verified Reviewer

Getting a free trial pair enrolls you into a subscription program. The trial pair hurt my eyes, and I've never had issues with contacts. These are painful! I then notice money being taken out of my bank account. I go to my Hubble account page and see nothing, so I call. They have already mailed me more contacts, no email, nothing. I only saw my ability to stop shipments in June. I stopped all shipments before I called and you have to call to cancel. She said to just write "return" on the box and drop in the mail. What they didn't tell me is that I will be charged $8 for shipping and restocking fee! Your first shipment isn't on your account page, I learned this from the customer service rep.

Scam!

By Gagandeep S., Rhode Island, Verified Reviewer

I created an account on Hubble to get a trial pack on lenses. It never gave me an option to enter my power, instead asked for my doctor's name, which I provided. Within two days I got a box of lenses which did not match my power. I contacted Hubble, and the customer care agent told me that we did not send you incorrect power, we sent what you entered and what your doctor approved.

When I told them that there wasn't an option given to me to enter my presentation, then they told that your doctor must have provided that. When I asked them for a proof of what my doctor provided, they had nothing to share. I have astigmatism and nowhere on the registration page is it mentioned that Hubble doesn't provide lenses for astigmatism. When I asked the same thing and told that my doctor knew I have astigmatism, why would he provide an incorrect prescription and the response to that I got was "We don't know, we sent what your doctor approved."

I told them to cancel my subscription and they gave me a number to call in order to cancel. Since my first subscription order was already shipped, the agent told me to return it for a FULL refund and never mentioned about any restocking fee, etc. I sent the box back as soon as I received it but there was no sign of a refund. I contacted them back to ask for a refund and they process a refund of $25 instead of $33. When I asked about why I have not issued a FULL refund, the agent just copied and pasted a part of refund policy from somewhere which you cannot find until you dig deep into their website. "We provide a refund of the product cost excluding $3 shipping and handling costs, less a $5.00 restocking fee."

Trust me, this is no less than a SCAM where they first send lenses with incorrect power and then charge you a restocking fee.

Bad lenses

By Donna M., Virginia, Verified Reviewer

First, it is a pain - you can sign up online, but you cannot cancel online. With my busy schedule, it is just a lot to do to add another call to my already busy schedule. I saw the charge this morning on my account, a Monday morning, and customer service said my shipment had already shipped. That is bogus as I do shipping as well and the charge has to be cleared before it ships.

I am leaving reviews and will tell everyone I know. I am also contacting BBB and leaving a review with them as well, stating they will not refund and will not pull shipment back and want to charge a $5 restocking fee.

This is a crap company, and I will pursue this with all my efforts to let everyone know my experience.

Don’t buy these!

By Sabrina A., Pensacola, FL, Verified Reviewer

This is a terrible company with terrible service. Contacts didn’t fit so I canceled the subscription. They CONTINUE to send me unwanted product. It’s just gotten comical at this point. If they weren’t stealing money from my checking account every few weeks, then I’d have a size of humor about it. Emails, voicemails, returned packages...they just won’t quit.

Did I say that these contacts are totally wrong for my eyes and their checks and balances didn’t work? They didn’t call my doctor to confirm because I called my doctor to find out when they called and what they said.

So, in summation:

They sent the wrong RX but expect you to keep the product you’ll never use.

Their customer service is beyond atrocious.

Their reps are sarcastic and rude.

They won’t stop taking $33 from you every month, no matter how much you email, call, or beg.

Just don’t do it. So not worth it for some super thin, flimsy contacts that rip in your eyes and are just cheap.

Horrible

By Kathryn G., Charlotte, NC, Verified Reviewer

So I tried these because I had recently moved and lost the contacts I normally wear. They seemed smart until you try to cancel. I did not enjoy them; they got dry way faster than my normal contacts do and mine normally were dry from swimming. When I attempt to cancel I learned you can't do it on the normal website, instead, you have to call during there business hours. But wait, it gets worse. If you work a normal full-time job, how can you do that?

Then when they send you a box, they say it's no problem, just send it back, we will refund you. But guess what? It's not a full refund, it's a refund they decide and don't fully disclose to you when you return the box. They tell you the refund info is in the Terms and Conditions, but when they don’t inform you, that's not good business. I've ordered many things online before, I have returned many things before, and never have they kept anything from me. This company needs to rethink their process because they say they're saving you money, but they're really trying to keep it. The biggest scam I've ever seen.

Worst customer service and terrible contacts

By Sarah S., Ottawa, Canada, Verified Reviewer

Hubble is a dishonest company. They refuse to cancel your order. I have emailed them at least three times. There is no way to cancel online. I changed my Visa, and they charged my new Visa even without my authorization.

The contacts fit horribly and feel bulky and painful to wear. They are thick and cheaply made. My prescription changed and there is not even a way to update it with them.

They do not respond on the help email address.

Don't fall for their scam of the free contacts. You won't be able to cancel.
