Noom is NOT as advertised...long ways to go

By Anastasia B., Denver, CO, Verified Reviewer

I was very excited to try Noom and ended up getting a subscription. I soon started to notice that the goals specialist and later group coach was not responsive and weeks would go by without a response. I understand they work 9-5, but getting ghosted by a "coach" for weeks? Not okay.

The articles at first were helpful but then started to get extremely repetitive and not in a "practice makes perfect" way, in a "we don’t know what else to write about for 4 months" kind of way. Not only that, but the app is riddled with spelling errors! As a marketer and writer, this probably bothers me more than it would others but, come on.

About two months in, I had an emergency and had to move states, so I had my curriculum reset. However, it took a week and then I was off in my group. Overall, I don’t think it’s ready for the masses, and they’re going to have to make a lot of improvements, especially to the awful food logging feature (and I mean AWFUL), before I would ever consider testing it out again. It’s a great concept but execution, and frankly, expertise, is a huge miss.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Worst program ever

By Lyne R., Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, Verified Reviewer

Don't subscribe to this crap program. It is so lame, worst program ever! The content of their material is not even up to par for kindergarten children. I have learned nothing new with this program, and it is expensive. On top of it, their business practices are awful.

Beware!

By Cheryl D., New Jersey, Verified Reviewer

I was going to sign up for trial. I wasn’t even sure it went through. One morning I awake to a $129 charge on my credit card. I never used Noon, and I downloaded the app to cancel only. The app is complicated, and I will never use this program! When asked for a refund, I was refused. You have to cancel before the trial ends. I didn’t know it began! I am out $129 for nothing right before the holidays.

Scam

By Yahya C., District Of Columbia, United States, Verified Reviewer

They will lure you into a 14-day trial and then charge you a non-refundable $129 for four months even if you didn't use the app past two days.

If you want to cancel during the 14-day trial, they don't have any easy option except getting in touch with support.

It's a scam - stay away!

Most impersonal personal diet program

By Hilton S., Ontario, Canada, Verified Reviewer

They say you are allocated a personal assistant who will help you through the diet. The first question asked she could, did not want to answer. I never logged a meal and she communicated once and never again. I think it is expensive for what you get.

The reality of the experience is very different from reality.

SCAM

By Jeri F., Pennsylvania, Verified Reviewer

Stay away from Noom!

I paid $1.00 for a trial and after three days realized it wasn't going to work for me and requested a cancellation. Impossible. They literally require you to jump through so many hoops that "Rebecca," who I suspect isn't a real person, can tell you that by now you've passed the 14-day period for a refund. Disgusting. Should be investigated.

Noom

By Jana C., Florida, Verified Reviewer

This app is a total scam. I recommend not using. Total ripoff. Kept charging me $99 even after I canceled. Then would only refund half. I never heard anything from a supposed coach. Do not use or pay for this app!

Not ready for prime time!

By Diana A., Los Angeles, CA, Verified Reviewer

This application lacks legitimate nutrition advice. They use behavioral psychology basics, programmed to respond to your caloric intake and exercise output. This would be great, but they don't measure calories correctly - they count good vegetable calories, which no one does, and their exercise input they want measured with their PC app. They are also the most expensive - $240 for 4 months. They have no human contact - you can get a live coach on WeightWatchers cheaper.

Scam company!

By Brenda P., Tennessee, Verified Reviewer

As soon as I signed up for my free trial, I tried to cancel online. They said I had to install the app to cancel. I did not want to install the app. There is no phone number to reach them. I tried and was given a rejection. They do not return emails. They charged my card $159, which I am trying to get back.

What a horrible company. I never got an order number because I never downloaded the app.

Probably good psychologically, but really a financial trap

By Patricia D., Napa, CA, Verified Reviewer

My big complaint is the auto pay. When you first sign up for the free trial, they charge $1, which basically opens your credit card to their charges. It is almost impossible to find how to cancel the subscription with Noom. I finally did with PayPal, but only after I discovered $99 had been charged, I filed a complaint with PayPal as well as with Noom. Noom says too bad, no refunds. I will not use a program with these kinds of tactics.

Scam company

By Heidi P., Jonesboro, IN, Verified Reviewer

I'm convinced this "business" is a scam created by legitimate-looking websites and social media sponsored ads. It is an internet bait-and-switch scheme to collect hundreds of dollars from people. I signed up for a two-week free trial in July 2018 and one week in, after not even downloading the app, I replied to the programsupport@noom.com to cancel my subscription. It ended up being returned to me as non-deliverable to a "do not reply" address. I had to search Google to find a phone number -that no one answered, EVER, AND did not allow messages to be left. Eventually, I had to download the app and interface with their bot, "Concierge Eva" who STILL NEVER allowed me to cancel. That was the month of July 2018. I just got charged another $129 in November 2018 from this scam of a company and FINALLY canceled my card. The day before Christmas Eve 2018 and I am filing a dispute with my bank to get the funds returned officially to our account - NOT the way I wanted to spend the holiday! DO NOT GET Noom! It is a scam and absolutely terrible. Kiwico.com (the kids STEAM subscription boxes advertised on social media around the holidays) sounds very similar to Noom.com.
