Quip revived my dental hygiene routine!

By Beeta Soltani, Vienna, VA, Verified Reviewer

I've been a Quip customer for over a year now, and I'm a huge fan. I just recently had to contact the team to make some account changes, and they were quick to respond and to help me with a solution, so I'm a little surprised by some of these reviews.

As for the brush itself, if you're like me and forget to change out your toothbrush for several months (I know, it's gross), then the subscription option is reason alone to join and get your dental hygiene in check.

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

The best and most straight forward toothbrush

By Aimee, New York, Verified Reviewer

The reason Quip initially caught my attention was the stress they put on what really matters: the basics. Nothing is sugar coated, and the whole package makes it really easy for you to take care of your teeth with little to no effort on you.

I came here to leave a great review and was confused by the lazy/bad reviews. Any questions about my Quip have been answered swiftly, and the team seemed to want nothing more than for me to be satisfied. Owning my own small business as well, I am well aware of the hiccups that may be faced when launching a new product and Quip's eagerness to rectify any problems had me impressed.

I already recommend this product to all my friends. Health care is super important to me and knowing what goes in my body and how to properly clean it is important. Quip's philosophy of stripping off the bad and starting from scratch is inspiring, and is one philosophy that I practice as well!

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Excellent affordable brush

By Rique, Salt Lake City, UT, Verified Reviewer

I've been using this brush for over a year now and have loved the cleanliness my teeth feel every time I brush. The sleek design is a huge bonus to the electric nature of the brush, it is comfortable to hold and isn't an eyesore on my counter. It travels well, and the subscription creates a much easier system rather than remembering to buy new brush heads when necessary.

My brush had broken at one point, and after sending pictures to Quip, they immediately reviewed and sent me a new brush without question. They explained the correct process for removing and replacing the brush heads. The customer service was amazing and quick.

I am a big fan of the brush, which I believe is helping improve my dental hygiene and smile.

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Really bad customer service.

By Kathleen Keefe, Minnesota, Verified Reviewer

I bought this quip three months ago, and now the head of the brush falls off at each brushing. This was a $60 toothbrush! They make you jump through hoops for a replacement. I loved it for the first two months, but now it can't be used. I'm going to duct tape it together until I finally get a replacement or my money back. Do not purchase this brush until they fix the problems. Oh, and the holder that you're supposed to stick into a smooth surface falls off constantly. It is a good idea, but bad customer service and cheaply made.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Company Response from Quip NYC Inc.

May 28, 2017

Hi Kathleen! We can see that you called on the 19th. We emailed you that same day asking for three photos to avoid making you send anything in. We could help you instantly. We see you replied late that same day with the photos. We responded the next day saying that we were sending you a full replacement without the need to return your brush because we could see the issue in the photo.

So that we can learn from your feedback, it would be helpful to know at which point during the 24 hours from your outreach to the replacement timeline was the customer experience was not ideal? What was particularly frustrating? We try to avoid people ever needing to leave the comfort of their own home or ever be without their toothbrush, which is why we find sending a couple of quick photos is ideal.

We see that there was a conversation around what might have caused the crack. Our help team told you that we only have seen the brush head connection crack upon incorrect brush head removal. They were simply trying to ensure you had seen the video on how to remove the brush head, to make sure it didn't happen in the future. These instructions were not slowing down your replacement, it was just additional helpful information we like to add while you order was processing, to help ensure you have no issues in the future.

We are sorry you did not have the best experience and we hope your free replacement makes up for this. Always here to help on help@getquip.com

Disappointing

By Isla Flores, California, Verified Reviewer

I'm pretty disappointed in my Quip. I didn't expect it to have the power that my Sonicare toothbrush has, but the head literally doesn't vibrate at all itself. What does vibrate is the handle where the batteries are. Any feeling of vibration in the brush head itself just comes from the handle vibrating in your hand.

Also, the holder, which is supposed to stick to your mirror, always falls within a few minutes. I heard my Quip fall to the floor both times I tried to store it in its holder on the bathroom mirror. The design of the toothbrush itself is nice, I ordered the copper color, and it is very pretty. I wish the brush actually vibrated. Now I have a very pretty $50 toothbrush that does little more for my teeth than your average drugstore toothbrush.

Company Response from Quip NYC Inc.

Jul 12, 2017

Hi Isla! It sounds like there may be an issue with your Quip or how it is being handled because we can assure you the bristles are vibrating, and they are the same sensitive vibration level as many premium brush modes. Could you please email help@getquip.com so we can help you out?

We will also be able to help you with the cover. Again, the cover is extremely sticky when used properly (check out "how to" on the removable sticker that comes on it, the welcome card and getquip.com/setup). So it sounds like it may be being put on a noncompatible surface.

We look forward to helping!

Great, when it works

By M, Washington, DC, Verified Reviewer

This thing is amazing. It is beautiful, slim, sleek, and modern. It works great for traveling since it has a great travel tube with it. I love that I can stick it onto my mirror (it can be removed and replaced an endless amount of times) to keep the bathroom table area clean.

I recently changed my brush head and noticed it was going a bit...weird. It would vibrate while the brush head was not on. When I would place it back on, it would not vibrate. Then it just stopped working. So I thought, maybe the battery died. I went out and purchased batteries and replaced them. Still, it doesn't work. Hey, at least I have a really sleek looking manual brush.

I am planning on contacting Customer Service today and hopefully get to a resolution because I really do like the brush itself and just bought my husband one and he loves it too.

Doesn't come close to my Sonicare toothbrush

By Michael Walsh, California, Verified Reviewer

I had really high hopes for this brush. Small, compared to Sonicare, sleek, no recharging...just change the batteries. But after only a week of use, I switched back to my old Sonicare. Why? My teeth just don't feel as clean. I used it as instructed and even 1 minute with my Sonicare is better than a full 2 minutes with the Quip. Maybe if you are coming from a regular toothbrush, you might find this a better solution. I can't say. I wish it was much stronger and more effective. I've returned it and moved back to my Sonicare.

Company Response from Quip NYC Inc.

Hi Michael,

We are sorry to hear that you have not enjoyed your Quip! Quip has the American Dental Association Seal of Approval based on findings around safety, and efficacy in removing plaque and gingivitis. Also, Quip uses industry standard soft nylon bristles, as dentists recommend and the same sensitive vibrations as many other electric toothbrushes to help with providing a thorough, yet not damaging, clean. The truth is, as the American Dental Association and Consumer Reports say, any electric toothbrush will clean your teeth just the same if you're brushing properly. We created Quip to help guide the good oral health habits that matter.

Unfortunately, there are many misconceptions about the oral care that we are trying to correct. One of them is the idea that “more power = guaranteed better clean.” As mentioned above, the effectiveness of a toothbrush comes down to how it is used, rather than if it is manual, gently vibrating, vigorously vibrating or rotating toothbrush. If they are all being used correctly (and have soft bristles), they will all provide the same great clean, it comes down to which type of toothbrush you feel guides you to brush better.

At Quip, we know that even making a small improvement to your brushing habits (brushing softer, longer, more often and with always fresh bristles) will have a fundamentally larger effect on your oral health than any change in movement or power ever could.

With that said, we certainly cannot speak to personal preference. The best brush for you is one that encourages you to brush two times a day for a full two minutes.

We thank you for giving Quip a try!

This QUIPpy little product.

By Kee Reynolds, San Francisco, CA, Verified Reviewer

Quip has been great so far. Reminds me to brush more frequently and for longer. I feel like my mouth is clean, and also it helps me clean my tongue better.

I tend to push way too hard when brushing and the Quip brush has definitely helped me alleviate that.

Side note: I am amused at the people disappointed at how it compares to a $90-200 Sonicare brush. I've been looking for an electronic brush, so I know how expensive those are, as well as how expensive the replacements are. And the need for a convenient outlet and shelf in the bathroom. And I purposely didn't get a high end electronic because THEY ARE EXPENSIVE. So are you going to get Sonicare volume of vibrations? No. But you're also not going to be spending $100 plus $40 a year in replacement heads. It's like saying, "yay, I don't have to take the bus anymore." "Yeah, but your Toyota can't compare to my Tesla." People get over yourselves.

Quip is "quool"

By Thomas M., Fitchburg, MA, Verified Reviewer

I enjoy using my Quip because it is sleek and easy to travel. If the time ever arises, I can be there to say, “I’m equipped with a Quip!" I like Quip catchy logo and it’s nearly perfect symmetrical design. I like how I have seen advertisements for Quip in Boston when I travel. Quip is easy to use, and easy to put away. It honestly makes brushing my teeth more fun!

Would not recommend

By Shirley W., Los Angeles, CA, Verified Reviewer

This is a great toothbrush for travel, however, for daily use, it hasn't worked for me.

First, it stopped working after a few weeks. I contacted the vendor and they said I probably had a "lemon battery" but didn't offer to send another one. It's not that I couldn't put one in, but they didn't address the fact that they sent a bad product and didn't attempt any service recovery. It works intermittently, after I bang it a couple of times. I became frustrated and went back to my Oral-B, and I am very happy.

I ordered and paid for the annual program. After I didn't receive a refill in three months, I contacted them twice, they promised to send it but I haven't received it yet. I'm so frustrated that I will probably continue with my Oral-B and use the Quip only for travel. The product is comparable to other electric brushes, but it is more convenient, especially for travel.

The response to my issues wasn't addressed appropriately, so I think that service is an issue for the vendor. Overall, I don't feel like I got value for the money that I paid and would not buy it again.

Hi Shirley

I’m so sorry to hear that you were having trouble with your battery and receiving your refills. Although it is rare, sometimes batteries can drain earlier than the three months. If this happens, we’re happy to send out a new battery upon request.

Looking at your account, I see that your refill was generated three months after the initial order and shipped several days later. We always have a processing period so that customers can review their order details. An order confirmation was sent to the address on file when the order was generated and another email was sent once the order had been shipped. Your tracking information shows that the package was delivered but if this was not the case, this is something that we are happy to help with if notified. If you have any further questions, we're always here to further help at help@getquip.com.

Great impulse purchase!

By Ayleen D., California, Verified Reviewer

Randomly saw the Quip display while shopping in Target and decided to try something new...and so glad I did! This brush is quiet, gentle, compact, and leaves my teeth feeling cleaner than ever before. I love the affordable subscription service offered for new brush heads and batteries, too. Makes getting a new toothbrush one less thing I need to remember. I highly recommend this toothbrush!
