I would recommend HomeLight to anyone interested in selling their property. The service was extremely easy to use, and after answering a few questions, HomeLight promptly sent me information on three area agents. The agents were very responsive, and all contacted me within one hour of my submission to HomeLight. We scheduled interviews with all three and chose Mr. Gregory as our agent. We could not have been more pleased with the service we received from HomeLight and the agent we selected.

I debated a few days about filling out the information online because I figured it would only lead to me getting many unwanted calls and emails. I was attempting to help my elderly parents get a real estate agent to help sell their home. I just happened to submit a note asking for some information, and within a few minutes, I got a call personally letting me know my request was received and that within a day or two I would be getting email information regarding three potential agents who might help us sell the home. HomeLight was correct; I did get an email, and in fact, several of the agents contacted me personally before I had a chance to call them from the email profiles I received.

When I began my home search, I came across HomeLight. After interviewing a few different agents, it became clear that the agents I found on HomeLight were not "experts" and or did not even have any prior sales or experience in my desired area. After meeting with a couple of agents NOT on HomeLight, I realized that any good agent in my metro area has just as much access to the market and was just as experienced and qualified as those who were found on HomeLight.

Basically, HomeLight is another of many lead generation services designed to generate business for real estate agents who pay to be on their site, much like Zillow or Trulia or Realtor.com. The agents on this site are not necessarily the top-rated agents in their area, but instead, have just paid to be listed on HomeLight and bought a zip code. This seems pretty disingenuous, and their marketing is misleading. I'm not saying that there are not any agents that are experienced/knowledgeable in a certain area, because I am sure that plenty of good agents have paid for their leads on the site, but what I have found is that just because an agent is on the site doesn't mean they actually ARE an expert in any area of the market.

I contacted HomeLight when we were getting ready to sell our home in Bellevue, in order to downsize to a smaller place nearby. I met with two of the agents HomeLight recommended for us, along with a Redfin agent my daughter had worked with. Both of the HomeLight agents were well qualified and extremely professional. They knew my neighborhood and price range. They each had a slightly different approach to preparation for sale and pricing, but both made a lot of sense. Dan Edwards, in particular, did a great job of follow up regarding the properties available in our new target neighborhood as well.

Dan helped us qualify the houses we were interested in buying and helped us put together a winning purchase offer. We then had him help us get our Bellevue home on the market. He connected us with Zemek Design, who managed the process of prepping and staging our home for sale. Dan was available for questions and advice throughout this process. Dan met with us to discuss listing price more than once, each time updating us on the most recent market statistics and their impact on our sale.

Once our listing went live, we accepted an offer exceeding our expectations within 48 hours. The most interesting part is that the buyer's agent was the other realtor we had met with from HomeLight! So clearly HomeLight was right on target with their recommendations for us and our neighborhood.

Overall I highly recommend the HomeLight service and would definitely use it again if I ever need to find a new agent.

As administrator of my deceased father’s estate, one night I lay awake wondering how I was going to sell Dad’s condo, so I sat up in bed and turned on the bed light and the laptop and typed into Google Search “How to find a great realtor in Concord California 94521”.
