They rip you off

I am 57 and wanted to use some makeup to try and find a date so I thought I would try Luminess Air. I am not all that happy with the product and even more unhappy with them double charging me. They rip people off from money and if you pay it off early, they still take their monthly payments and then some. I make less than $18,000 a year and I guess they want a third of that for the makeup air machine. So sad, I work part-time. I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau, they will not hear the end of me. Taking money out of my account that they have no right to. Do not trust what they say on the phone, they will say anything to get you off the phone. Do not become a victim as I have.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Rip off.

I looked at this system, based on the "dramatic" results on TV. I decided no, but my guy knew I had expressed interest, so he bought it for me. Ladies, read the small print. This costs a bundle, and it just keeps on costing. While I thanked Jack for the gift, we both decided it did nothing that L'Oréal True Match did not do ($7 every two months). This is a rip off, preying on our vanities. I am 63, and wrinkles notwithstanding, I am still beautiful to the people who matter. Forget this crap. Focus on what really makes you beautiful, and ladies, it isn't makeup.

Scam...taking senior pension

This has been the worst experience. I am a 75-year-old woman living on a small SS check and thought this would be perfect for me, being as the commercial said it was so easy and was only $19.95. When I ordered, I was on the phone for a total of 40 minutes, talking to different people, giving my card number to different people and was exhausted after the process.

When I received the unit, I opened the box and saw it looked way too difficult to operate so I didn't even take the plastic wrapping off. I called the company to tell them I was returning and was not given any specific instructions. After I returned it, my partner passed away and I had to move to my daughter's home in another state. She was helping me with my finances and saw all the charges coming out of my account and inquired. I would have never known why all my money has been taking out if not for her. Not only were they taking $57.94 a month for the machine, they were also taking $39.95 a month for the makeup and INSURANCE on the machine. In the meantime, I am still receiving makeup in the mail, and two months they came busted, makeup all over her mailbox when she picked up the package. I have returned all of the ones I received, even taking the time to properly package the one that was busted.

When we call to find out why I'm still being charged, I get the lecture about my responsibility to call and get approval for sending, which I did, and then being told it wasn't received in their warehouse. Conveniently, the next thing I'm told is my tracking number is needed. I would love to provide it but it is a storage facility in Miami, Florida and I am unable to obtain it at this time, so they refuse to refund me or acknowledge receipt of the unit. After 45 minutes of haggling with them to stop taking money and telling them I'm reporting this to the BBB, she finally says she will cancel. When I ask for the confirmation number for that, she says she can't give me one. I asked for it to be emailed and she can't do that either. After more haggling, I finally get a confirmation number, however, I am still skeptical.

After seeing these reviews, I wanted to write to let others know this scam will take all your money for months and won't let you out of the trap. It's a shame this company takes money from anyone but to make a 75-year-old grieving lady go through these hoops is a disgrace. Thank God I have my daughter to help me because we are continuing forward with letters to Consumer Affairs in all states and BBB. We will not stop until every single cent is refunded!

P.S. After this order was placed, my account was also charged for two more products, which was something to do with travel and dining out. One was $29.95 and the other $19.95. This went on for several months before my daughter discovered this and when calling to cancel, she was told I agreed to these charges when buying Luminess. Never in my life will I ever order online again, because all of this has amounted to two months of my social security.

Not a satisfied customer

I tried to cancel my subscription twice and was promised upgraded product to try instead of canceling. I was finally able to cancel and followed all instructions to return the system. I returned it within the time limit but was STILL CHARGED THE FULL AMOUNT FOR THE SYSTEM. Now they tell me that I will not receive a refund unless I provide the tracking number. Their warehouse received the system. However, apparently, there is no communication between the company and the warehouse! I cannot find my post office receipt with the tracking number.

Bottone line: I was not happy with the makeup! One drop of rain on your face and it's blotchy. This company is shady! BEWARE.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Don't Waste Your Money or Time

I purchased the Luminess Air and found out that not only was I being billed the $57.31 for three/four months, but an additional $1.08 each time to run my card, which I never agreed to since it was never disclosed in the contract for the reoccurring charges. I had to call back each month to get my $1.08 refunded.

This past month I called Luminess to give them my updated card information since my debit card had changed for the last payment. I requested that they cancel my reoccurring make-up subscription because the Luminess Air product had broken and after all the billing issues I didn't want the product anymore. The gentleman I spoke with around 10/23/18 said that he would send a new Luminess Air and post-pone my make-up subscription for three months. I would need to send my old product back once the new one arrived. The new product never arrived and I saw that a charge on my card for the make-up subscription of $21.60.

I contacted customer service 4 times on 11/21/18 to tried and speak with a supervisor and kept getting hung up on when I told them I want my subscription canceled and my $21.60 back. This is a freaking nightmare.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Luminess Air is a sneaky company

Luminess Air did not work for me. It may work for other people but not me. So I immediately let them know that I did not want the automatic payments taken out of my account. They said OK to that but conveniently did not tell me that I still had to pay for the make-up wand, which was approximately $129.00. So when I saw the first payment installment had come out of my account about a month after I told them that I did not want the product, I immediately called my bank and told them that fraud had been committed on my account and that I wanted my debit card canceled. My bank did what I requested. After going back and forth with Luminess Air for about 3 months, I finally sent the wand as well as the rest of the product back to them. I sent it certified/return receipt.

After about a week or so I called them to make sure they got the product back and when will I get my first installment refund. Luminess proceeded to tell me that they never received the product and did I have a tracking number. I gave them the tracking number and then they changed their tune and said they did receive the product back. They wanted my debit card information so that they could issue the refund and I told them no. I told them to mail me a check. They said that's not their policy.

So I proceeded to report them to the Better Business Bureau and the Consumer Affairs in Texas, which is where their corporate office is. Just last Thursday, I got my refund in my bank account. Luminess must have told my bank to put the payment in my account because Luminess did not have my debit card information. This is four months after I originally purchased the product. This was a nightmare, and I will never do business with this company again and for anybody out there, just be careful when dealing with this company.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Luminess Air Mystic foundation

I love, love my Luminess Air Mystic foundation. Initially, there is a learning curve. However, once you get the hang of it, WOW! Compliments will follow. Two tips I would like to share as I've used the system for years now are 1. Keep your stylus clean after each use, first with a few drops of liquid eye makeup remover followed with hot tap water and 2. Purchase the little pink cap that can cover your foundation in the stylus. It's less than $5. I have purchased their fabulous tanning solution as well, best tan ever! No kidding.

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Stopped working at about 31 days

It took a bit to decide color choice in makeup, but that was easily remedied with a little time. I think if it had kept working, I might have really liked it.

But I must have gotten a lemon, since the machine just died. Their return policy was a return within 30 days, so I missed that windows of opportunity by days. That should have been a red flag to me or anyone that a return policy is only 30 days. Many of us are busy and it may take a while to get used to a new product. If a product is good, they should stand behind their product! Especially as it was the compressor that stopped working.

My unit looks brand new, I cleaned it out well every time, but it stopped working within days of the warranty time, so I was unable to return. When I called, they said it was the compressor since nothing worked. Although they didn’t recommend it, he suggested I could try to fix the compressor myself or buy a new unit.

I definitely would have returned it had it been within the return window, but I should have been given a new unit. Mine was a faulty unit, but I would have liked to continue using the product. As the compressor is what makes it work or not, the quality should obviously be better.

If Luminess wants to allow me to return my product and send me a new one, I would love to talk with someone and revise my review. Customer service is a huge plus or minus for a company.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

This is the worse product and customer service that I have ever experienced. I would not recommend this to my worse enemy. The product was returned and they acknowledge it, but they keep taking my money.

I love this system. Those who aren't happy, need to understand that anything new requires practice.

Miss Amber at their Corporate Office, has been helpful, patient, and knows their products extremely well. And her customer support is exceptional! As well as Miss Sharon, a manager, which was also well versed in her Corporate products. Kudos to Luminess for an awesome product!

False advertising

I ONLY ordered this because the infomercial said it would not cost me ANYTHING to try it.

I call to return it and am told (by someone with an accent so strong I can't understand him) that I have to pay for shipping back. After much complaining, they told me they would refund me $10 for shipping. It will cost MORE than that.

THEN he tells me they will charge me a 25% restocking fee.

I use my AMX, which will kick the charge back to them for lying to me, but it will be a hassle. If you want to try one of these systems order it from Amazon. Much cheaper and you can return for free.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend
