Don’t get this app

The app itself is extremely empty. Exactly as the article stated, it is not personalized except that they ask for height and weight! You can choose which type of fasting you want to do and you have some workouts proposed. THAT'S IT. You can find these on YouTube and Google. It is not worth the money and I realized it 1 hour after making the purchase so I asked for a refund and got shut down by a very rude customer service telling me there’s no refund policy unless the product is faulty. The product IS faulty since it's not even worth half of what I paid.

After being shut down, I genuinely tried using the app and I realized it's really useless! No one in their right mind would pay for this. I canceled my next subscription but I can assure no company has made me this annoyed at the lack of empathy AND usefulness.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Unauthorized charges and impossible to cancel or get a refund

Last November I was charged twice by DoFasting. I attempted to resolve the issue and they continuously replied that I signed up for a six-month subscription. That response didn't resolve the issue of the double charge. I asked to cancel the subscription with no response. I had to contact iTunes to have the charge refunded. Six months later, same issue. I was charged for this subscription even though I didn't renew and requested a cancellation. I send an email and I got the very same response as six months ago. This app is predatory.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Dishonest business practices

Expect little transparency or accountability from this company and little value from its app. Respectfully, most positive reviews for this app only reflect the success of intermittent fasting, and not the purported value of this expensive, hard-to-get-rid-of subscription service.

I purchased a 3-month subscription online in January, and promptly forgot about it - as many, if not most - find themselves doing. DoFasting offers ONLY automatically-renewing plans (the first red flag). At the end of March, a couple of days before my account would be charged for the second time, I came across an online ad for DoFasting that showed it was a paid app, and vaguely remembered I might have paid for it at one time. It was my intention on that day to cancel my account if it was, indeed, a paid subscription.

I proceeded to search through the website and then the app, and nowhere did I see any indication of my account being a paid account. There was no notice on the app, or the website, that my bank account was linked, or that it would be charged in a matter of days - and most importantly, there was no option to cancel any subscription (if I even had one). I, as anyone would, took this to mean that I had no such subscription.

Much to my surprise, I opened my banking app days later to see a charge from DoFasting. I then spent the next 40 minutes searching for any possible way to see the details of my paid account and to cancel my subscription - to no avail.

It shocked me that a service would make it so easy to sign up online with one’s banking information, but impossible to cancel. It is borderline criminal to conduct one’s business in such a misleading way. I imagine that many customers similarly frustrated have simply given up after not finding a way to cancel their accounts - no one should even have to do the extensive searching that I did. I, however, was deeply disappointed and finally emailed the only support resource I could find requesting that my account be canceled.

Many back-and-forths with an automated email response system later, it still is unclear whether my subscription is canceled, or if I will lose another $40 come July. Save yourself the hassle and the money, and find a cheaper intermittent fasting service that isn’t a scheme to lock you into a contract.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Recommend

I read a really good article on the DoFasting blog so I decided to get their app. I’m 4 weeks into fasting and this is what I noticed:

1) My brain works better. I now try to open my eating windows at about 1 pm because in the mornings before I eat I just feel so productive. My stomach might growl, but my brain works so well I get the biggest part of my work done.

2) My skin is clearing up. This is either intermittent fasting or the fact that I drink way more water right now or it can be both.

3) I didn’t get this app to lose weight as my number one priority, but I lost 5 lbs so far without feeling like I have to try really hard.

What’s not to love? Recommend.

I feel so good

I kept seeing the DoFasting app on my Facebook and it really triggered my curiosity with all these good things being said about it. So I became one of their customers. I fell in love with fasting because it is not like any other diet I tried. I don’t even know if you can call it a diet, it’s more like an eating pattern. A few weeks in, when I started feeling comfortable with 16-hour fasts I decided I want to change the game a bit. I felt like I wasn’t ready to go on 20-hour fast just yet, so I thought, why not try combining it with Keto? DoFasting lets you choose allergies and intolerances, so I got my meal plan as if I’m "gluten intolerant", to make meal recommendations I get closer to Keto. I feel like results are coming faster now. I don’t like to focus on numbers on the scales so I don’t know how much I lost exactly, but I feel like my fat mass has decreased quite significantly.

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Worthless

The information is nothing new and a "personalized" plan is nothing but a grouping of possible foods for you to choose from, save your money and spend a couple of hours doing some research, it will be more beneficial!

I love this app

I jumped on and off different diets for the last 3 years now. I tried those one-product cleanses a lot, I tried paleo, I tried just meal plans found on the internet. They all got me feeling like I have no energy and I was constantly hungry. Every time I go on a diet I have such good expectations and then I just fail. I’m writing this review because with fasting it’s different. When I got the app I read all the tip sections they give you and they also explained how the fasting works and what makes it so great. I must say that it helped a lot to stick with the diet. Well, it’s not even a diet actually, it’s much more than that. And that is exactly why I love this app.

Cancellation please

Do not buy

This app is very disappointing to me. I bought the app for a year and then it automatically renews. I will not get a refund for what I have already foolishly purchased and I do not see any instructions on how I may notify them that I do not want a renewal.

Frustrated

I signed up for this and received a box of packets in the mail that look like teabags while I was away from home for two weeks. By the time I returned, I had forgotten almost everything I had learned about DoFasting. So I Googled it and inadvertently signed up for another subscription. It appears the teabags are for making a drink to curb appetite. Is there someone at the company with whom I can speak to learn more about this and to cancel my second subscription? The website is of no help. There is no phone number either. Not a good look.

Contact phone number not working?!

I thought I canceled. But I was billed again. I called the contact phone number and it doesn’t work as of today 3/27/2020.

How can they post a contact number and it doesn’t connect. I’m thankful for Capital One credit card because I will deny this charge because I can’t get ahold of them.
