Excellent customer service

I just wanted to share my new experience with Bombfell. I made my first fitting and received my order in the mail. Great job to my stylist! My credit card info was wrong. They sent me an email stating my credit card did not go through. I fixed the mistake and sent a reply email stating the correction. Any other company would have stopped my order and canceled, but Bombfell gave me as a customer the benefit of the doubt that it was just a typo and it was. Great customer service! Thank you.

Excellent experience

I've had an excellent experience with these guys. There have been a couple of misses, but for the most part they've been right on the mark.

The appeal to me is two-fold. First, exposure to different brands, in order to find a fit that's great for me. Second, to try on styles that I might otherwise pass by while shopping for clothes. They go through the hassles of picking things out, and I get to avoid going to the stores. I've found a few brands now that I love and buy directly from their website, knowing that the clothes will fit right.

A much better experience than with Stitch Fix. Stitch Fix it was always hit or miss, more miss than hit. Also, with Bombfell (unlike Stitch Fix), you actually communicate directly with a stylist, you can preview the clothes before they ship and switch something out if you don't like it. I highly recommend them over Stitch Fix.

Lisa was quick, friendly, and solved my issue

On my recent order, I received a shirt that I really liked and planned on keeping it. So without thinking, I removed the tags to put it in the dryer and remove the wrinkles. Only after did I realize that it was missing a button. I was worried because returns are not allowed after the tags are removed.

Lisa replied to my issue quickly and offered the great solution of allowing me to return or a $15 discount, and I could have a tailor attach the button on my own. A very reasonable response in a short period of time, that is the definition of great service. Thanks, Lisa!

Too sick to return in time

I've been receiving Bombfell shipments for several months as I signed up for the subscription service as a gift for my husband. Recently we needed to return the clothes but the try-on period ended on a Sunday, and we couldn't make it to a FedEx because our family was sick. I shared an email correspondence with Janelle who was incredibly helpful and personable. She made sure that our return was credited to our account and empathized with my family being sick. Overall the stylist and customer support have been great.

Bombfell credit

Megan was very prompt in responding to my needs, and she offered a credit due to some issues with my initial order. The issues were:

1. A tie/shirt combination that didn't work because the shirt collar is too narrow for the paired tie.

2. A blazer that came in 42 Regular when I had noted 40 slim/athletic in my profile.

My stylist, Maddy, is working on some replacement items that I hope will work. It's early, but so far Bombfell has been friendly and easy to work with.

Bombfell is the bomb

I've absolutely loved using Bombfell so far. First and foremost, the clothes are great - stylish, high-quality, comfortable, and a solid mix of wardrobe staples and statement pieces. The profile options are detailed and the subscription settings are easily customizable, which was important to me, as I can only afford so many clothes at once (note that you can indicate your price ranges, but overall, the clothes are still going to be fairly expensive, since they are higher quality).

Right now, I am using Bombfell on their one-time-box order setting, rather than a regularly recurring subscription. It is working well for me as a way to find and buy more statement piece clothes, and I'm already regularly wearing the clothes I only bought 2-3 weeks ago, so I definitely recommend it if you want slowly add some higher-quality clothing (stuff that you'll actually wear!) to your wardrobe on a regular or semi-regular basis. And you'll get compliments on your new clothes.

Besides the clothes, Bombfell itself has been excellent as a company. It's for men's clothes, but I am a woman using it. I told this to my stylist, Maddy, and she has been more than willing to help me find clothes that fit well, and has generally been super friendly and welcoming to me, which admittedly I was a little worried about when I signed up.

Of course, given this, it can be difficult to find clothes that fit just right (especially finding clothes small enough or shirts that fit around my chest), but Bombfell makes it extraordinarily easy to return clothes. They include a return shipping label with every order and you get a full refund on everything! The only exclusion to refunds is the "styling fee," which is only $20, and applies to whatever clothes you buy anyway. I did have one issue that came up with being scheduled for (and charged the styling fee for) two boxes that I didn't order - I think there was some glitch with the ordering system because both times it happened after I returned an item, but I emailed customer service. I received a reply from Xavier, who was able to make an exception for me in this situation and refund me the $40 in styling fees for those two, and told me that they would look into the issue further as well, to make sure it doesn't happen again.

I'm really happy with how friendly and reasonable Bombfell is, and again, I've truly enjoyed using it and am planning to order more clothes again in the near future.

You absolutely get what you pay for. They let you adjust the price up and down as you'd like, and in those ranges, you will receive the best clothing you could want. I was emailed out of the blue by one of their agents, Xavier, and it was about my account keeping me up to date with my orders.

They're pretty personalized and invested in your experience, and the more info you provide, the better they do.

Great experience

Very friendly and professional! They listened to my comments and responded appropriately. Very attentive to customer's needs and taste! Highly recommended! I think it is a great service when you are busy and unable to shop, and also just to have an extra "set of eyes" on your styling options and what is popular and current. Timely and courteous feedback was encountered when I felt I wanted to change up an item pre-shipment. Great service that makes me wish I had disposable income!

I am a 40-year-old man that has been buying all of his clothes from Target for the past 20 years. When I think about why, affordability tends to come up. But really it's also about convenience. Going to a mall, going to huge department stores, going to various small clothing stores, it's all a little overwhelming to me. I need my window of choices narrowed way down.

And here is Bombfell, a service that says, "Don't sweat it, we got you." After taking a survey that asks about your fashion preferences, and what you're willing to try, and what you're willing to spend, you're assigned a personal stylist. You get an email introduction which is a nice personal touch. (Shoutout to Stephanie!) Within a day or two, you receive an email detailing your first order. You can either fine tune it, accept it as is, or ask for a whole new order before it ships to you. I asked Stephanie to replace a couple of items that weren't working for me, and she happily and quickly obliged.

Shortly thereafter your order arrives in the mail, and it's Christmas morning. Admittedly, it's the crappy part of Christmas where your Mom gives you a sweater and a pair of socks and makes you try them on, but still. You have seven days to try things on and decide what you want. You don't have to keep anything. If you decide none of it works, you can send it all back, and you're out the $20 styling fee for the order. If you decide to keep anything at all, that $20 fee goes towards the purchase. And there's a sliding scale of discount. The more items you keep, the bigger the discount you get, up to 20% off if you keep 4 items.

In my order, there were some instant classics and successes that I loved, an outright dud, an item I just didn't love enough for the price, and a pair of pants that I thought were the greatest pants I ever experienced, but they were a little too big. I didn't know how the process worked for exchanging for another size, so I emailed Bombfell. I got a very quick response from Megan who explained step by step everything I had to do to exchange. It's fun to note that even the person responding to your emailed question comes with a little "I'm a human being" biography. When you checkout/return your clothes, you're given a little survey that asks detailed questions about how things fit, such as how was the length, the fit in the chest, the arms, etc. And you can let your stylist know what you think about each item, such as too short for my tastes, or love the fit but don't like the color. This seems to indicate that the more I shop with Bombfell, the better my picks are going to be. It makes for a fun experience that made me eager for my next order.

Now the price part. Again, I've been shopping at Target my whole life, so the notion of spending $80 for a pair of pants was kind of blowing my mind. Likewise, $75 for a shirt is an extravagance for me. But that being said, once the items arrived, I have to concede that there is a world of difference between the clothes my stylist picked for me and the clothes I've been buying, just in terms of quality and material. It's night and day. Still, to keep everything I had been sent, which included a blazer I requested (if I didn't mention it, you can indicate what you'd like, be it shirts, shorts, socks, glasses, blazers, whatever) would have been over $300. As a t-shirt and jeans kind of guy, that's a big leap to make. Then again, I signed up for Bombfell because I want to take steps to improve and expand my wardrobe, so I'm willing to dedicate a little money to the process. But within reason. Like I said, there were things in my first order that I scoffed at and said there is no way I would ever pay that much for that. But again, there were other things that I thought were completely worth it. But you know what you're getting into when you take the introductory survey that asks how much you're willing to spend on particular items. Suffice it to say, there was not an option in my preferred price.

You do get the option of selecting how often you'd like to receive orders though. It's twice a month, once a month, or once every two months. I picked once every two months for budgetary reasons, but the process was so great that I'm eagerly awaiting my next shipment. And again, I wish I had the disposable income to let me stylist go wild on a shopping spree.

So I've only had the one order, but with the one, I'm hooked and sold. The only thing holding back that 5th star for me is the fact that I just can't afford to fully exploit the service. But as far as concept, execution, and service with a smiley picture and friendly biography, Bombfell is a winner.

Great in theory, not as smooth in practice

I started using Bombfell because I'm a daytime software engineer and evening volunteer as an assistant coach and at a non-profit, so shopping for clothes is a hard task. I heard about Bombfell through my uncle who uses it and figured I would give it a try. It's great having someone who thinks fashion-forward select some clothes for you, but it seems like their inventory is often limited, and the pieces picked out for me are usually 6/10 or 5/10 on average. Only a few times have I really liked an item.

I also received a flannel with a tear in the cuff, but I'll call that a 1-off.

A good experience

I was a bit skeptical of this service, thinking that I would have to pay first for all the items then be refunded for returns. To my surprise, it wasn't that at all. Although this was my first box, I was very happy about reviewing the suggestions. I really liked the style that the stylist was going for; unfortunately, the sizes were a miss. That's all okay; it was the first time after all. Now you have a base to draw from. We can get this thing right quickly. The good thing is that I didn't have to pay upfront. I was able to keep one of the items and the returns are very easy.
