Terrible experience

By Daniel Fries, Loma Linda, CA, Verified Reviewer

I had a terrible experience with Copper Chef. They claim that nothing sticks to this pan, but I had a lot of problems with things sticking, even with using oil. I was told by their customer service that I had a defective product and to return the product, which I did, and paid $30 for it.

A month later I called them back and was told that my product would be shipped. I call back another two weeks later and was told that I still owe two payments and that I needed to call their collections department. I called their collections department, and they said it was paid off. I called customer service again, and they said that they needed a reference number.

It was nothing but a runaround, going back and forth. I don't know why they would have given me a return authorization number if they're showing that I still owe money on it. This is a very bad company, and I would not recommend it to anyone. And it's a very bad product.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Poor business practice

By Jessie, Howard Lake, MN, Verified Reviewer

I ordered these pans as a Christmas gift in October of 2016. As of 12/1/16, I had not received the pans, so I called customer service and they said they were on backorder and would be shipped on 12/12/16.

On 12/24-/16 I received a postcard in the mail telling me they are still on backorder and would be shipped on 12/30/16. As of today, 1/14/17, I still have not received the product. So I called customer service again and now was told that they are still on backorder and would be shipped on 2/5/17.

Well, needless to say, I'm not a happy customer. I just canceled the order.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Use with NuWave Cooktop

By Jean Lord, Florida, Verified Reviewer

I frequently post things I cook in our NuWave oven or on the NuWave cooktop on my Facebook page. Today I thought I'd share what I thought about the Copper Chef Pro. I'm referring to how it works on our NuWave cooktop. I have not used it with our oven or stove top.

Cooking pasta and steaming vegetables are great. I attempted to make french toast this morning, and I noticed that the circular induction surface does not cook evenly. The interior corners cook faster than the exterior. Fortunately, I noticed this when flipping french toast and rotated the bread for even cooking. Hopefully, when a new design comes out this issue will be resolved.

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Pot is real junk

By Tony B, Garden Grove, CA, Verified Reviewer

I have this as a gift and know that the pans are really misleading and do not last long. I suggest you pass this word on.

I did attempt to use the help service to get my pan replaced or fixed, but they never even attempted to help. They only suggested we season the pan as you will read below.

Copper Chef

[19:40] TonyB: My pan is scartched and no longer can use without oil

[19:40] Thank you for visiting chat! We will be with you shortly.

[19:48] Marielle: May I know if you seasoned your pan before cooking , please?

[19:48] TonyB: I only cooked sausage and eggs? You mean use oil?

[19:49] TonyB: this is the circle pan.

[19:49] TonyB: the other sqaure pan is great.

[19:49] Marielle: Seasoning your pan will help extend the life of your nonstick pans.

[19:49] TonyB: what is seasoning?

[19:50] Marielle: We have two methods of seasoning the pan. You need to put oil on your pan and make sure that the entire inner pot is covered with oil then heat it for about 5-10 minutes in a medium heat repeat process for 2-3 times and wipe the pan with to remove the excess oil you can also use your oven to season your pan put oil on your pan and heat it for about 300°F for an hour then wipe the excess oil.

[19:50] TonyB: oh ok .

[19:51] TonyB: however this pan has scratches and it is getting worse but I will use that method now .

[19:51] TonyB: is there a way to get this pan fixed?

[19:51] Marielle: When cooking please try to pre-heat the pan for at least 3-4 minutes using low to medium heat settings to avoid the issue that you have encountered.

[19:51] TonyB: i always do that

[19:51] TonyB: we never cook on a cold pan

[19:52] Marielle: The scratch might be caused of the too much heat from the burner. Copper Chef is heat resistant, but has a limit. Try to reduce the amount of the heat if you are using Copper Chef in your burner for more that an hour. However, the scratch on the bottom of the pan will not affect the non-stick feature

[19:53] TonyB: I use medium on the burner and only about 20 mins tops on the cooking. I thinking maybe not seasoning the pan did it

[19:54] TonyB: i do use this pan alot too

[20:00] Marielle: As with all non-stick cookware, we recommend using non-metallic, plastic or silicone cooking utensils.

[20:03] TonyB: I also noticed the pan is raising in the middle?

[20:04] TonyB: so the non-stick is not true you have to use oils

[20:13] Marielle: We have recipes online that needs oil or butter, however, we encourage and we recommend to minimize the usage of oil since the Copper Chef pan has a cerami-tech non-stick coating, it cooks without butter, oils&chemicels, OTFE and PFOA free.

[20:13] Marielle: Is there anything else I can assist you with?

Thank you for chatting with us. Have a great Day!

Notice the long no response after the question, and then they decided to just hang up! I offered them to contact me in an email as well, with NO luck.

Best pan ever

By Mark, Columbus, Ohio, Verified Reviewer

Received the deep pan as a Christmas gift and I was skeptical, but I used it and loved it, and it performed as it does in the commercials. I liked it so much that I bought three other Copper Chef pans (the low sided one and two 9 inch round ones). I recommend these cooking pans.

Horrible

By Bonnie, Arizona, Verified Reviewer

I purchased these pans in July. I used them and eggs stuck to the pans. I sprayed the pans with Pam, but the eggs still stuck. Nothing slid on its surface and when I tried to lift the eggs up, the pan scratched. I called to return the pans in September, and the rep convinced me to try the new pan.

So I waited for the return label because I had to return the pan before they would send the new pan. I called them back and they said they sent the label in an e-mail, which I never got. So in November, I returned the pans at MY COST. Then I get a bill saying that I owe my last payment. I called Copper Chef again and they gave me the number for COLLECTIONS. Collections? And I was just notified?

Anyway, collections said I needed to send them a copy of the tracking number, and I did so on the 12th of December. So I called Copper Chef back and told them the case with collections has been closed, but they have no proof of it being closed and they can't call them. And that since it had been longer than 60 days, and even though they have recieved the pans, I am not eligible for any refund!

What a rip off. How dare them. I have tried to get the e-mail address for any of the executives with no luck. BEWARE, do not purchase from these clowns!

Copper Chef vs Red Copper

By Thomas Cottrell, Reedville, Virginia, Verified Reviewer

I have the Red Copper and the Copper Chef. I like the Red Copper better, for one reason, and that is that the handle is not as big and long. Both pans have an outside that is hard to keep clean and the food sticks. I feel that Red Copper is better protected inside and having the shorter handle is much easier to handle.

Domed bottom and uneven cooking

By Richard Cook, Kentucky , Verified Reviewer

We thought this would be a great pan with the high sides and non-stick surface, but we found that we could not even cook a single egg in the pan. As soon as the egg hit the pan, it slid to the edge one inch of the pan and laid there. It would not cook until we swiped it into the center of the pan. We also found, that after a week, the non-stick began to fail.

Buyer beware

By Anne, Wisconsin, Verified Reviewer

Very disappointed. I purchased my Copper Chef 11 inch pan through QVC after watching the Eric Theiss presentation. We bought several that day for Christmas gifts and one for home. There was a link to the warranty, and it stated that the ceramic coating had a lifetime warranty. Last night, after cleaning the casserole, we noticed some of the ceramic had come off in one of the corners.

I contacted Copper Chef with the warranty information, and they referred me back to QVC. I spoke with QVC, and they told me they were out of the product so I should contact Copper Chef and provide the warranty information. I called Copper Chef customer service back and was treated rudely by their agents. They told me that since I bought it through QVC I had to deal with them, and the warranty was not valid through Copper Chef.

I am so disappointed that Copper Chef does not back their product if purchased somewhere else than copperchef.com. What is the point of including a warranty when it is sold at other outlets if it is not honored by the company? Does that mean that if someone purchases a Copper Chef from Amazon they will get the same result as we did? What a shame. I wonder if Eric Theiss realizes this is occurring. He should have disclosed this when he presented it on QVC, and it should be included in literature put out by the company, so that it is clear.

I will make sure I inform every person I speak with that is interested in this product, so they make an informed choice before purchase.

Love my Copper Chef pans

By Nancy Brown, Maryland, Verified Reviewer

I have used the 8" round Copper Chef pan for over three months and it still looks and works as good as new. I have followed the instructions for care, and I do not stack my pans to prevent scratching. I have since purchased the square pans and found their performance to be exceptional as well.

I have a glass top cook stove and find that the pans work very well with that surface. I have more control over temperature. I also like that the pans can go into the oven.

The pan does not fry

By Joy, Moraine, Ohio, Verified Reviewer

During Christmas dinner, while frying chicken wings, it did not heat up enough to cook, and eight pieces of chicken wings took me 45 minutes to fry. The chicken wings were not done, so I gave up and used my old pan, which I had for 15 years.

It does NOT heat oil to the temperature of 350 degrees at all, and I tried for an hour. Don't buy the pan if you're going to fry. I had a fit about this pan during our Christmas meal, and I give it a big fat 0.
