Poor quality

By Kami H., Mendon, OH, Verified Reviewer

Most of the contacts in my boxes had a slight rip in them, which as a result would leave them ripped in my eye. I would not recommend buying these. The quality is poor and apparently, inspection is not correctly qualified to send out a quality product.

Length of Use: 3–6 months

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Eye irritation/infection

Terrible

By Marie C., Union, NJ, Verified Reviewer

I find that the lens is thicker than the brand-name ones I was prescribed. My vision was blurry all day with the Hubble lens and my eyes were very itchy. I have a million boxes of these lenses and I only used 1 set of lenses.

Hubble’s brand for lenses is old and cheap.

By Brooklyn K. , Kirbyville, MO

I went into my eye doctor and I told him I had been using Hubble, then he proceeded to look at my eyes to see how irritated and swollen they were. My last check-up was a year ago and my vision from the years prior hadn’t experienced such a dramatic change. When I purchased Hubble Contacts and started wearing them I noticed they weren’t that strong, but I was using the same prescription that my doctor had written for me but my vision extremely worsened within a couple of months. So I canceled it, so I thought, and I am still being charged and receiving contacts that just go into my garbage can. So this company may be good if you don’t have serious vision problems like myself, but if you do just stick with the expensive brands because they won’t damage your eyes even more so than they already are.

Length of Use: 6–12 months

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I asked to cancel my subscription months ago and I still get contacts and money taken out of my account

Hope you don't ever plan on canceling because it takes at least 3 tries for them to figure it out

By Theresa H., Gainesville, TX, Verified Reviewer

I used Hubble for a while. The contacts are fine, just customer service is terrible. Tried canceling 3 times and still getting charged. They will ignore emails until they ship the contacts so that you have to call again to get postage and send back for a refund, which can take a while so they don't have to give a refund when you call to cancel.

Length of Use: 1–2 years

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Pros and Cons

Cheap

Won't cancel your subscription

Poor customer service

Charge your account even after canceling

Meh.

By Dontwant Tosay, Minneapolis, Minnesota, Verified Reviewer

This isn't some raging, angry review; I'm just kinda like, "really?"

I ordered the free two weeks, and after ordering I found out two things:

1. I have possible neovascularisation (where veins grow into your iris, makes you unable to wear contacts, and is caused by contacts being worn too long and not sufficiently allowing oxygen to your eyes).

2. The reason Hubble contacts are inexpensive is because they use a sort of outdated contact type. From what I found out, it's silicone or something like that, and apparently, they're just kind of not healthier, even though they're dailies.

Again, I found out both of those things AFTER I ordered. I'm not mad, I'm literally just kind of like, "aw."

So I called their customer service to cancel, because they don't allow canceling over email (why? I think maybe their customer service is outsourced. Not a bad thing, and I'm not being racist), but the customer service, they were really blunt and just kind of unhappy to have to DO something. And I have a sort of complicated email address, so that didn't help their attitude. I had trouble understanding her accent, so I had to keep asking her to say it again, which pissed her off, and all I was asking was to cancel. I'm NEVER the difficult customer, and I try to be cheerful because let's be honest, working customer service sucks when people are rude to you, and she just kept sighing into the phone and was irritated that I needed the three minutes it takes to cancel.

Again, I'm not a raging, angry customer. It's just kind of disappointing.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Hi Dontwant Tosay,

First of all, the clever handle I had to read it out loud before I got it (was searching in our database for that name).

Second of all, sorry to read that you did not have a great experience with Hubble, including with our customer service. I don't appreciate folks sighing when I'm on the phone either, so I understand your frustration.

I would love to get a bit more information, so I can try to figure out what agent you spoke with and also process a refund (the least we can do here).

Hope you have a great holiday weekend!

Claire

Uncomfortable! Not for sensitive eyes

By Jodie Hayford, Brooklyn, NY, Verified Reviewer

Hoping to cut down on the cost of daily lenses, I signed up for Hubble. The contacts arrived about one and a half weeks after placing my order, which included the obtainment of my prescription. I loved the packaging and ease of separating the individual lenses, but unfortunately, they are much thicker than Acuvue Moist Dailies. I wore them to work and at multiple points in the day debated taking them out. They are very uncomfortable! The edge-feel increased throughout the day and caused watering and eye pain. For someone that needs to wear dailies vs. weeklies, these were a no-go.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Beware. You have to dig for information on the website.

By Hank Ball, Las Vegas, NV, Verified Reviewer

Paul, Chief Tech Officer at Hubble, contacted me by email after he read this review. He said that he agreed that they don't talk enough about toric lenses on the website, but he did say that they are planning to make the website more clear in regard to toric and multi-focal lenses in a few weeks. He talked about how people with astigmatism are in the minority when it comes to daily wear lenses.

He did say that they are planning to roll out toric lenses. "It'll likely be in six months or so."

He also said that he would "really appreciate it if you'd be willing to remove or amend your review. I understand that Hubble didn't work out for you and that there are some clarity issues on the site, but since those who wear daily torics are not especially common, I don't want others to get the wrong impression."

I'm not upset and don't want to give people the wrong impression of the product or site; quite the opposite. I simply want to bring it to people's attention that if they need toric or multi-focal lenses, they need to understand up front that those types of lenses cannot be provided by Hubble Contacts at this time.

I upgraded the rating to two stars because on HighYa, two stars says "Not what I was hoping for," which is, unfortunately, the experience I got.

Hopefully, in the future, I will be able to say that I am a satisfied customer.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend
