Do not use this app

By Demi C., Raleigh, NC, Verified Reviewer

I downloaded the app, saw it wasn’t for me, and deleted it off my phone, thinking that since I hadn’t used it a single time, there would be no charges made to my account, but I was wrong. If it wasn’t for my bank, this program was planning on charging my account $160 with no plan to notify me that they were doing so, and then another $50 as well. Then I had to redownload the app only to find out to cancel it I had to message the "coach" and when I did, there was no response. To take advantage and try to charge someone about $215 who has not even rendered a service is absolutely distasteful.

Decent program

By Neil K., Ramona, CA, Verified Reviewer

The articles are nice and helpful, but the individual coaching and extensive food lookup tool is where Noom shines for me.

I could live without the group chat, as that's a waste on me. And I wish you would ease up on the hashtags and abbreviations. I can't remember them all, and I'm only a few weeks in.

Not worth it

By Christopher K., Valparaiso, IN, Verified Reviewer

The system seems automated and the "coach" seems to have canned responses. I question if the coaches are even real people vs. a computer. Also, the cost is too much. I got it at Christmas for $44.95 a month, which is crazy expensive. I looked at new pricing the other day and it was $89.99! Unbelievable!

Noom

By Lucie-Marie G., Verified Reviewer

I'm happy with the texts to read. I'm not happy with my coach. She keeps telling me that we will work on this, that, that we will discuss this, that but it never happens. I've been a member for one month with no answers from her, no guidance, no help, not anything tangible to work on. So, I'm getting nowhere. I'm a month I've made no progress. I've asked a second time to rewind my program from day one to see if I can get it. For now I'm really really not impressed. I need help and I'm not getting it.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Not what I thought it would be

By Paula P., Madison, WI, Verified Reviewer

This was not a great experience and my coach was non-existent. If you have expectations that it will be a personal experience, it will not be a personal experience at all. I anticipate that much of the contact is managed via chatbots and voice capture analysis. People seem few and far between. I recommend Jenny Craig.

Trying to get my money back

By Linda O., Columbia, MO, Verified Reviewer

I found another program that gives me all the resources I was using from Noom for FREE! I didn’t mind paying for the first month, but I wanted to get the money back for the remainder of the program.

Stuck with a service I don't want

By Jillian B., Toronto, Canada, Verified Reviewer

I signed up for Noom's free trial, thinking that the approach might help me manage a special diet I'm on for managing multiple autoimmune diseases. Having a Goal Specialist seemed like a positive approach. Well, within a very short amount of time I realized that this is not the right app for me. It is focused on weight loss and Caloric Density and my diet regime is focused on Nutrient Density and healing (I need a different meal-logging app that tracks micronutrients etc.). I forgot to cancel with Noom before I left on a vacation and when I got home I realized that I'd been billed for two months' membership for a service I don't want. So, I'm stuck. I don't think a company with integrity would force a client who is clearly not an "ideal customer" to stick with a subscription that they're not using. I'm not at all impressed and very disappointed that I ever signed up for the free trial that turned out to be anything BUT free for me.

Misleading program

By Alanna K., New Jersey, Verified Reviewer

The quiz you take before signing up makes it seem like you’re buying a customized program but instead you’re just paying nearly $100 for an app where you can log your food and find out good food is good and junk food is bad, like you don’t already know that.

Once a week a stranger asks you to share an achievement. There’s no actual custom program. If you ask for any real suggestions or support, your "private coach" sends you articles on the Noom website that just parrot the same shallow advice of the app. Eat a salad. Have a yogurt. You don’t need to spend $100 to know that eating only plain salad with chicken and fat-free plain yogurt will make you lose weight!

I was really struggling to find a proper balance on this program and found it very hard to figure out what to eat while staying in my "zones" and still eating my calories. I mostly just ended up not eating or giving up and eating all the wrong things. There is nothing custom about this program and it was a total waste of money. I am absolutely canceling this month and I regret the purchase.

Noom

By SJ G., Durham, NC, Verified Reviewer

Poor. Waste of money. Deceitful sales tactics. No benefit to the service. Advertised on television but again no benefit to the service and required two months non-refundable payment. If not satisfied, after four weeks cannot get a refund.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Signed up for 14-day trial, don’t trust Noom that you won’t be charged

By Paige M., Brighton, CO, Verified Reviewer

I found your daily program valuable, signed up for the 14-day trial on day 12 stated I didn’t want to continue and thanked my advisor and still got charged $59.99. But charged for a month for a service I did not use and notified and thanked you for the 14-day trial. Not trustworthy.

It's not for me

By Barbara H., Avondale, AZ, Verified Reviewer

I guess it is for active people who like vegetables and fruit. I am not active. I hate the taste of vegetables and fruit. I am in a wheelchair. The quizzes and lessons only give one choice to answer. When it is about exercise and running, or walking, I can't relate to that. It is not for me. I don't do the shopping or cooking in my house. My wheelchair cannot go in the kitchen and I eat what my caretaker fixes me to eat. So, it comes to eating what is being served or go without. I don't control anything around me. Noom is not for me.
