Great product and great value

I had braces when I was a teenager. I was not instructed to wear retainers, and my teeth (especially bottoms) are now worse than before I had braces in the first place. I am very self-conscious about my crooked teeth and had been looking to get braces for over a decade. I am a "mature" user of the product and have had them for one month. VERY impressed already. I can see a difference and the fact that they give you whitener too makes me want to show off my smile even more.

I still have several months left, but I am thrilled with the cost savings and improvement in my smile and confidence.

Yes, there was a delay in the first shipment, but I had waited years to do this so, what was another week. Be patient; it's worth it.

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Just starting!

I am confused by the varying accounts of the SmileDirectClub process. I do understand that something in the company changed and maybe they do things differently than they did as little as 6 months ago.

I went in person to a SmileDirectClub office in Chicago. They took tons of pictures of my teeth. At the time I picked the payment option I would use should I be approved, thinking that there would be one more step of "click here" to place your order. This was important to me because I wanted to check in with my dentist at home and simply say "hey I'm thinking of getting Invisalign, do you think I'm a good candidate?" To see if they would say yes or say I would actually need tooth extraction before doing something like that.

My smile was approved, and they just charged me. I freaked out and called and explained that I thought when I was approved there'd be one more step to click for finalizing of payment, and explained I didn't want to purchase just yet because I wanted to check in with my dentist at home in New York first. They were very kind on the phone, the woman I spoke with did a stop payment with my credit card and said to just let them know within 90 days if I wanted to proceed, or else you just have to come back in for more photos.

In my time between then and ordering, I was sent a bunch of different offers for money off and such, but I hadn't been able to get to my dentist yet. About two months later they sent me another offer I just couldn't refuse, so I jumped and bought them.

They came in 4 weeks, as was stated, they were even able to change my delivery address and carrier preference days before they were sent out. They were so helpful.

I received my aligners yesterday. All of them. I have a 40-week program to follow, and they sent all 20 aligners at once, none of this "they ship one every couple weeks to you and having to worry if it will be on time" stuff. They are all here.

I still do want to check in with a dentist because it's mainly a crowding issue I'm dealing with in my top 6 front teeth, and I'm just not convinced this is going to work. I want another opinion. I would rather save myself the pain if it isn't. But like I said, the final offer they sent me I just couldn't refuse and figured it wouldn't be much wasted if it doesn't work out, but that the offer more than likely wouldn't come again.

I am excited and nervous about this journey.

I just wanted to say I've had a great experience so far. Communication has been great, and the live chat feature on their site has been amazing.

My daughter and I had an awesome experience, there was lots of information that was given about the pros and cons with using Invisalign. It’s affordable and convenient to use and buy. There was a nice and friendly consultant named Ladiya - she was so helpful in giving us all the information required to use it.

Great if you don’t NEED braces.

Based on my three separate consultations for invisible aligners, the in-person experience with SmileDirectClub was by far the most comfortable. My first Invisalign consultation was with a young dentist who nearly ripped my mouth apart trying to get a good 3D scan. They wanted $4000 up front with no payment options, and treatment would be six months. My SmileDirectClub consult was with a younger, less experienced dental student, but she was all about that customer service - super positive and reassuring that I would be happy with my results. I walked away with a free whitening kit (which works great!) and an affordable payment plan.

They emailed me a link to see my 3D month-by-month results. I noticed my teeth would develop what’s called an "open bite" - my front top and bottom teeth won’t close all the way by the time the five-month treatment was complete. I was surprised no one bothered to tell me I’ll never be able to bite into a sandwich properly again, but at least my teeth will be straight, right? So I called and canceled, which they tried hard to convince me not to do.

I would recommend SmileDirectClub to anyone with few and minor problems, like if your teeth are spaced too much, or you have a little crowding on the bottom. Otherwise, you’ll probably end up getting Invisalign anyway.

My third consult was with an orthodontist for Invisalign. It was magical, and her wealth of knowledge and experience are the reason I will have her straighten my teeth.

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

So slow...

Everything was pretty good except my 6-month plan went past a year with 2 refinements later and the end results were not the same as what I paid for. I complained but was told they could not do anything more for me so my journey was done time to move to retainers. Been done with SDC for over a year, every time it comes time to get new retainers which they stress should be replaced every 6 months ends up taking 3+ months to receive them! This time ordered my 2nd set on January 13th just got them May 15th. They are so tight on my teeth that I'm in lots of pain like when I first started this process. That tells me that my teeth have been shifting due to having to wear my last retainers, which were loose since having them so long. I'm Kinda frustrated and feel like my teeth have moved even though I still wear my retainer 8+ hours during the day and at night.

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

My SmileDirect experience

I had an appointment for my 3D scan. Their office set up is very nice and comfy. I could tell they're conscious of not making anyone wait around. When I met them, I could tell they talk with their smiles and their smiles are beautiful. I met Jonathan and Julie. Both were very pleasant, but Jonathan was the one who really went through every step with me. The attention is awesome and the 3D scanning is awesome as well. I don't like to show my teeth close-up to anyone, but they're really good at warming you up, lol.

Great visit

It was a great experience. Coming to a mobile RV it was set up like a professional dentist office. Latravia was very knowledgeable about the product and answered all my questions. They weren’t pushy on the product that we had to buy right then and there.

Part 1 of the journey

The initial exam experience was great. I'm so excited to get started. If the aligners work I will become a spokesperson. The customer service is excellent and the process was so effortless. Every dentist appointment I've ever had has been traumatic. But, this was NOTHING like that. It was nice, relaxed, and almost even fun. I so hope this works.

3D scan/initial consultation

The young lady who checked me in and escorted me to the 3D scan was so nice. She asked if I had a referral code because I could save money. When I advised no she gave me time to reach out to someone I knew who used SmileDirect to get a referral code and I saved money. She could have just let me pay full price so that was a nice plus. I then sat in the room and the rep Stef was also such a pleasure. She was informative and made me very comfortable. I would definitely recommend coming to this location. The staff was nice, the staff went above and the office was very clean. The only reason I did not give a full 5 stars is because I was advised the consult would only take 30 minutes and I was there over an hour. It was not a big deal for me because I wasn’t in a rush. Nor was it the employees' fault the system wasn’t scanning properly. Overall I had a pleasurable experience. Once I am a few trays in I will come back and review my experience.
