Happy camper

Process was smooth and straight forward. Program lasted about 5.5 months, then wore my retainers for another couple of weeks and now I only wear them at night. I followed everything to a tee and I got the results I wanted and expected. Couldn't have been a smoother process. And with all the brushing and flossing I had to do, the overall health of my teeth is the best it's ever been. I'm glad I became an S.D.C. customer. It's changed my smile completely.

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Good service

The service was good and professional, listened and answered questions. I felt at first that they expected me to buy but when they educated me on what they do and why I save money by saving on trips to appointments so that’s where you save. The scan was so professionally done and explained the procedure I trusted them. They emphasized on following the directions thoroughly as like going to your visits. I have to say I’d recommend them and seeing my daughter's and coworkers' results they were great.

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Initial Consult was a great experience

I arrived early for my appointment as a new client and didn't expect to be seen early but actually I was! Customer service was outstanding and very professional. I would consider the company to be an "upscale dentistry" and I would most definitely recommend family and friends. Overall I was pleased with my experience, rating at 8 can't give a 10 because service isn't completed.

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

BEWARE! Don't do it!

Unfortunately, I had to change my rating as I was not able to delete the initial rating.

I ordered my aligners and was excited to receive them a few weeks later. Upon arrival, I checked the packaging and noticed that the bottom aligner was missing from one of the packets. September 17: Immediately, I contacted the company and was assured that I would receive the aligner within 14 days. After the 14 days, there was no sign of the aligners, I called the company and they stated they are having issues with the manufacturer. However, I was again told I would get the aligners in ANOTHER two weeks. Of course, that time passes and I called the company again and no one could tell me when the aligners would come. On this call, I explained how I was not satisfied and would be canceling and returning everything. The representative apologized and offered me $100 off - meanwhile, the separate finance company still charged me $82 that month for the aligners. So, at this time, I am paying for something that I am NOT using or benefiting from. On October 30th, I contact the company and AGAIN explained my dissatisfaction for the lack of product and lies that I was told about the status of the aligners. AGAIN I explained that I wanted a refund and expected a call back as I was told on the last call that I would be contacted by a rep to explain the process within 3 days. This was day 4. This rep then said it would take 3-5 days for someone to call me. Today is day 6 and NO phone call!

Again, I am disappointed and do NOT recommend SmileDirect. There are several competitors who you should seek out, if not go to a local Orthodontist.

Upset and HIGHLY disappointed.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Looooong wait with no update

Visited the Smile shop mid-August 2019. For some reason, my order was placed 7 days after my visit. So August 27 my order was received for processing. I received an email about that in September. I have had no email update since September 26 when the aligners were "getting a haircut". I called customer service late October although they were very polite they could not provide an update as to when my order will be received. I'm paying for my order that I don't yet have and on top of that will not be home to receive them as I am now traveling for work

Soooooo disappointed.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Great experience.

My experience started when a Smile Bus came to our area and I decided to give it a try. First, the Smile Bus experience was fantastic, upon leaving the Smile Bus I was super glad that I had kept my appointment. I received my box of aligners in a short amount of time, set up my online account where I could view the 3D image of what my smile would look like. I especially loved how they would text me every week to remind me to change out my aligner and when to send in pictures of my progress. That small detail helped me stay on track! Each time I changed my aligners I compared it to the 3D image online and it matched up perfectly. The few times I had to contact customer service with a question or in need of replacement accessories such as the hook to pull the aligners out or a new storage box (or when I accidentally threw out an aligner in the trash), it was shipped to me immediately and I had it quickly. I also found that the stickers placed in the box to remind me of certain milestones such as when it was time to order my aligner retainers helped to keep me on track as well. I just finished my treatment plan and am now wearing my retainers. My experience has been a great one with this company.

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

SmileDirect financial difficulties? Incapable of delivering.

$2200 later. I started the alignment process only to discover after three weeks that a set of aligners was missing from the box SmileDirect delivered. Seven weeks later and many broken promises later (phone calls, emails, and a chat), I still haven’t received the missing aligners. SmileDirect is unable to deliver - I fear I will need to start proceedings and I think the company may be in financial difficulties from what I have been able to discover on the internet.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Never hear back

I have seen a difference in my teeth yes, which is great...Except for my 2 front teeth where I still have a gap and only a month to go. But we will see what happens in the next 4/5 weeks. Anyway, the customer service is terrible. About 2 months ago I lost the purple stick to remove your aligners. Took over SIX emails and TWO weeks to get one. (And a little fee, but that's okay.) Taking aligners out without that was so difficult. I dunno why that took so long. Last month I got an aligner that didn't fit and the back and forth emails took over A WEEK so I skipped a week. And now this week my aligners cracked last night and still haven't heard back via email. Been over 12 hours. And asking for another purple stick as I left mine at work over the weekend. Hopefully, it doesn't take 2 weeks again. Yes, we don't pay as much as you do at the dentist but for over $2,400 I would expect way better customer service than this. This are my teeth we're talking about and a lot of money I've invested and time.

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Worst company, scam!

I would give zero or negative stars if I could. I placed my order at a brick and mortar Smile Shop in the first week of September 2019. Overall experience at the store was good to begin with the staff was nice informative and professional. I was told it would take 3-4 weeks to receive my aligners in the mail, let me also mention I paid in full at the store, it is now the November 12th and I have yet to receive my order, I have contacted the company multiple times only to hear that they sent a message to the lab and they were still awaiting a reply (apparently this company can’t afford phones), or the customer service "professionals" haven’t been trained to use them. Still can’t figure that one out. So I finally decided to send a nice letter to the BBB, the company finally got back to me with some answers, not good news but news none the less. I will be waiting another month before they ship my order that I placed on September 4th. If I do not get my order on or before the date they got back to me with I will ensure everyone is warned about this company. Updates to follow.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Makes your bite worse and worst cancellation service

I was very excited to try the SmileDirectClub aligners and had 5 months plan at first. Almost at the end of the 5th month, there wasn’t any improvement. The gaps weren’t fixed and I noticed that food gets stuck more on a part of my teeth which never happened before I used the aligners. So I went again for reevaluation. It was approved for another 2-month plan but the projected result is ridiculous! Their projected smile plan actually will give me an open bite and increased overbite! And they told me that that is the best plan they have for me! It made me feel like I wasted 5 precious months! I requested a cancellation and refund because they actually made my smile worse! Now, they kept on dodging me! I always follow up and no one has reached back to me yet! I am very frustrated. Do not use SmileDirectClub! I will update this review once they get back to me.

11-18-19 Update

Changed my recommendation to a no because I'm trying to get my retainers and twice I ordered them online and they never went through so I had to call and order them. Then I get an email saying I'll get my retainers in 2-3 weeks but now it's been a month and still nothing. I contacted them and they say they sent a request to see where my order is but it's going to take 3-5 business days just to get a response. Are you kidding me? My aligners they tell you to keep wearing until you get your retainers are again breaking! I don't know what happened to this company because everything seemed to be going smoothly at first but not anymore, this is ridiculous. Try another invisible aligner service because they don't know what they're doing here.
