Fraudulent transaction

By Cindy G., Lake Elsinore, CA, Verified Reviewer

Sign up was very easy and contact lenses came on time every month, but unfortunately, those are the only positive comments I can make regarding my experience with Hubble at this time.

In October 2018 my credit card expired, and shortly after, my prescription for lenses also expired. The company continued to run my credit card each and every day for two months and it was declined as it should have been, but then 2 and /2 months later, on 12/16/18, they put through an unauthorized charge on an expired card for an expired lense prescription.

When I contacted customer service via email per California state law, my subscription was canceled, but not before the charge went through. I once again contacted Hubble customer service by phone and spoke to Erin. I was told since we have a credit card on file we can charge it anytime even though it is expired and your prescription is no longer valid. I asked Erin what the expiration date on my card was and she said 10/18, I then asked what day did you charge my account she replied 12/16/18. When I asked Erin if 12/18 was after the expiration date of my card on file she replied, "yes, but that doesn’t matter, we have your information and we can charge your account."

I understand the policy that the subscription with Hubble needs to be canceled, but I certainly didn’t expect a reputable company to charge an expired card.

Poor customer service and dry eyes

By Michael S., Ohio, Verified Reviewer

Contacts left my eyes dry and burning after 4 hours. You can conveniently sign up online, but cannot cancel without calling during the week 9-5. That tactic alone should warn you about their archaic business model. Run away!

Fraudulent transactions

By Katherine M., Virginia, Verified Reviewer

My husband started using Hubble Contacts at the beginning of last year. After a few months, we canceled the service. They continued to charge our FSA account. Again we canceled at the end of 2017, for them to start charging for the subscription in October 2018! At this point, his prescription has been expired for several months, so not only are they fraudulently charging our FSA without consent, they are using an expired prescription to fill for contacts. We will be contacting BBB.

Terrible company

By Vikki V., British Columbia, Canada, Verified Reviewer

Terrible company. I ordered a lens test, but, they did not come to me. And the company has already charged money for regular lenses from my account! They make me call them when it suits them. In their personal account, they do not provide an opportunity to remove an automatic subscription. For letters asking to cancel the automatic subscription, they are asked to call at a time when it is convenient for them. I do not recommend contacting them. Do not buy anything from them. They will do the same to you.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Good feel, bad for the eyes...

By Andre P., Chicago, IL, Verified Reviewer

Hubble Contacts fit me perfectly. I did not feel discomfort or dryness when I started wearing them. It was only after I paid a visit to my optometrist that I had any concerns.

You see (no pun intended), I learned from my eye doctor Hubble lenses are made from an outdated material that isn't used in the United States anymore. Why don't they use it anymore? That's because newer materials allow more oxygen to your eye. If you only wear contacts occasionally, it's not a problem. But, after a while, it's not healthy for your eyes.

I'm a person who likes to wear contacts a lot. I don't want to damage my eyes in the long term by wearing Hubbles every day. But, the lenses that allow the most oxygen (ex: Dailies Total 1) are quite expensive. I told my optometrist this and she pointed out that there are daily lenses with newer materials that are less than Hubble. I changed my prescription to Clariti 1 Day. It's cheaper than Hubble and allows more oxygen to my eye.

I'd definitely consider switching back to Hubble if they changed materials. I loved the convenience, price and customer service. However, I just can't sacrifice the health of my eyes.

Dry eyes and impossible to cancel

By Stephen T., Charleston, SC, Verified Reviewer

I'm active duty military and work from 8 am until 6 pm most days. I had no problem signing up online. However, the contacts don't even make it through my shift before my eyes feel tired and start to dry out. So, I went to cancel. There's no way to do it online. I sent them an email, and they replied that I would have to call between the hours of 9 am and 5 pm to cancel. We do not allow phones in my building, so that's not possible.

I explained that to Hubble, they ignored my request, and promptly billed me for another month. I've tried to cancel for two months now. They don't even bother replying to my emails.

Scam.

Hubble is a scam

By Ron T., Wisconsin, Verified Reviewer

I have been an optometrist since 1982. CLs can have serious side effects. Hubble only comes in one size and in spherical powers. Many people need an astigmatism correction or a steep or flat fit, and the Hubble lens won't fit.

They're not even inexpensive. If you want to order online, ask your Doctor for an Rx for Dailies Aqua Comfort Plus. They're cheaper and available in a sphere and toric powers.

Hubble is not doing you any favors. I don't like online CL providers, but at least they are selling you a real product.

Easy and convenient

By Dana O., New Jersey, Verified Reviewer

These contacts are easy, comfortable, reasonably priced, and extremely convenient. Excellent customer service as well! I used to use 1-800 Contacts and had issues, so I’m very glad that I found Hubble Contacts!

Amazing contacts service

By Dominique B., Reno, NV, Verified Reviewer

I don’t really use my contacts daily, so I love that I have the option to order a box for $33 (as opposed to the ~$60 I pay at the doctor’s) every two months or so! It’s super simple, with really nice dailies that don’t dry out my eyes much. Thanks!

Pretty good for what you get

By Jui W., London, United Kingdom, Verified Reviewer

I’ve been using Hubble for about a year now. They’re really convenient - I like how you can adjust how frequently you get your lenses, so on months where I’ve not used them all, I can ask to switch to a 6-week period for my next batch. I have astigmatism in one eye, so I’ve had a bit of trouble with comfort for long-wear in that eye, and the lens has fallen out once or twice at the end of a long day. Aside from that, I’ve not had any real issues with them.

Horrible contacts, even worse customer service!

By B G., USA, Verified Reviewer

Don't waste your money. This company has awful customer service, appears to be a bunch of dummies that can't comprehend simple English, and they give you the runaround about the crappy quality of their product and make it difficult to cancel service. Get them anywhere but here. A terrible company to deal with and horrible customer service!

I would give them zero stars if I could!

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend
