Do not trust Vroom!

My car was delivered 1 and 1/2 weeks ago and the second day I had it, the dash warning lights came on and stayed on for about a week. Then it turned off. Then the next day I went to start the car and the battery was almost dead and I had a hard time starting it. Then I got in the car to drive today and the engine light came on and will not go out. I have only driven 855 miles and already have issues with the car. I need to speak with someone immediately in regard to this matter

Ok, now it has been over 4 days since I sent my last email for help from you. Prior to that I have called several times and no one has gotten back to me.

I got in my car today and it had trouble starting and the engine light is still on. I went to an auto parts store and they ran a check on the engine code and the car comes up with 3 different codes all saying that there is a evaporation leak. It also showed that my battery was bad and there was no wiper fluid in it. Since it was raining I had to use the windshield wipers and they were so bad I could barely see out the window. I had to spend over $200.00 to just make the car safe to drive.

So again my car needs repairs and I need to speak with someone to resolve these issues. I am attaching the receipts from today for your review to get reimbursed.

No response, no contract

A negotiated deal was made and now 8 days later no contract and no response from Vroom. The customer service is terrible and very doubtful the deal will transpire.

I would give it at best zero on stars if available.

Terrible!

If I could give no stars, I would. TERRIBLE customer service. We ended up canceling our order because they wouldn’t ever send the title application to the bank, and every time we called, we waited on hold for over an hour and still got nothing accomplished. We have talked to so many people, I couldn’t tell you their names, and nobody knows anything. They have the title to the car we were trading in and nobody in the entire Vroom company can do anything to get it mailed back to us. It has been a week now and still no title.

Don't do business with them! Customer service is absolutely terrible, worst of the worst.

Vroom equals scam

I purchased a vehicle on Vroom.com. They were quick to respond and extremely efficient. The deal was done in a day and my car would be delivered in 10. On top of that, the transport team would contact me in 3 days. Hahaha. After that, I never heard anything from anybody and can't get anyone to respond with anything but we are sourcing transportation. Now it's been over 3 weeks. I'm out $40,000 and supposedly have a loan for an additional $50,000, yet I have no idea when or if I will ever receive this vehicle. Or if it even exists.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Negative stars should be allowed

Vroom is the worst customer experience of my entire life. Sadly, I read all the horrible reviews on BBB and other sites and choose to ignore them. They took $56k from me and would not only not give me the car I paid for, but wouldn’t refund me my money. I filed with DMV and Attorney General complaints in Texas and Arizona, contacted my attorney, and finally, after a month they decided to send my car. They haven’t invented a word to describe how horrible Vroom is yet.

Incompetency at its finest

Vroom has been an absolute nightmare to deal with. During the process of purchasing a vehicle, it is easy to reach a sales representative and have your questions answered. After you take delivery, making contact is impossible. Extremely long wait times. You’ll be placed on hold countless times. They’ll tell you to leave a callback number to which they’ll never respond. They’ll tell you that they will call you within 72 hours. That also will never happen.

I took delivery of a Vroom vehicle on 12/9 after completing the purchase on 12/3. My temp tags expired on 1/7. Still have not received additional temp tags or permanent registration. I offered to take over the process and register myself as they obviously aren’t capable. I was told I could do that but they would not refund me the money I paid for them to register it. I have contacted numerous times in an effort to have this fixed.

I have a vehicle that I’m paying for that I can’t legally drive because of the incompetence of Vroom. I would never recommend these guys to anyone. I’m honestly embarrassed to have done business with them. They have no sympathy and make no efforts to correct their shortcomings. Please make this right Vroom.

Poor excuse for a dealership

Would not do business with Vroom ever again. I question their honesty since the pictures they presented online did not reflect the hood damage that cost me $1100 to repair. They only paid $500 toward the repair. I had an issue with the retail contract that had additional charges added to the second copy. Took over 2 weeks to get a person to look at it and fix it. Really question if the hassle was worth it. Never going to do business with Vroom ever again.

Awful

My experience with Vroom has been truly awful. They had the car we wanted and the price was competitive. The idea of skipping the dealership sounded like it would be quicker and less stressful. It was not. Not even close!

I've probably spent 2–3 full days in total either on hold with customer service or explaining to one of literally 20+ employees different issues related to inaccurate information on their website, contract errors, and quality issues with the car. It's nearly impossible to get ahold of an employee that can help.

It took a month to get the car. It wouldn't start when I received it. Then it wasn't drivable after a jump start because they sold me a car with brake pads and rotors so low that it engaged the parking brake and wouldn't release it. It's been at the dealership for a week and I can't get anybody to approve the needed repairs.

No plates since October 2021

I bought a car in October of 2021. It's now February 2022 and still no plates, and my tags expired on January 3rd! So, I cannot drive my car!

Horrible is an understatement

I have been working on receiving my title, a copy of the original title, or an extension for my temp tag for 4 weeks now. I have spent a total of 11 hours and 47 minutes on hold or in conversation with people from Vroom. Every time I call I am told I will receive an emailed PDF temp tag extension in 1–3 days. It has now been 4 weeks, and I call every 3 days, and I am still told the same thing. I have been told by 13 Vroom employees that they have sent emails to people in two different departments and they are "high priority".

I have submitted all of my paperwork, insurance declaration, and paid in full for the vehicle.

My temp tag is now expired, and I never received the title that I have been requesting for weeks. I was even told by Vroom that if I received a ticket for an expired tag they would reimburse me. The audacity.

Also, when I finally receive my title I will have to pay extra fees because the temp tag is expired.

This review is just about my experience with trying to accuse the title. I will have to leave another review on the nightmare that I had with the salesperson and trying to receive simple paperwork to provide to my bank.

If you purchase a car through Vroom, make sure you get the name and case number of any request that you have. Also, request to be transferred to Tier 2, and the best time to reach anyone is 8 am on the dot. And don't fall for the prompt "if you would like for us to call you back when it's your turn," they will never call.

The employees are not bad people and every time I would call I would apologize for being frustrated because it's not their fault. They only communicate to other departments through email. This is a problem with the company structure of Vroom. Worst experience ever!

Read reviews, people, they can save you a lot of headaches

It’s convenient and good for people with bad or no credit but you had better make sure you're not in a hurry. I started my first purchase on 1/13/22, I finally was able to receive the car on 2/5/22. My wife didn’t like it so started the return process on 2/13/22 to trade in for another car. It’s 2/24/22 and I can’t even see the purchase I’m making as my hub has still not been updated. The only reason they got 2 stars is the customer service techs were very polite and friendly, I would know since I talked to so many. In my first purchase, I had 4 different techs I worked with as they just kept transferring me to a different one every couple of days.

Update:

It is 03/01/2022 with still no response from any car specialist or customer support. After I followed up on them about the review I gave I sent all the info they needed and never heard a word from them – no text, no email, no phone calls. So today I called and canceled my vehicle purchase and now we will see how long it takes for them to send back the $4001 down payment I sent them. I hope it’s soon so I can use it to pay rent; since all this has happened and left me without a vehicle I have lost my job and missed 2 interviews because of all this.

But I’m in high spirits as everything happens for a reason but hopefully, if nothing else, this review will help someone in their decision to use Vroom as there next automobile purchase and save them the headache. I don’t like giving reviews, honestly, but after it affected the way I live I felt like something should be said.
