Finally - I get it!

By Shari W., Miami, FL, Verified Reviewer

Like most - I've done what I thought was right - drinking Diet Coke, using the sweetener of the moment, eating low-fat products, blah blah. Weight Watchers (several times), tried weight loss programs etc. Losing usually, but gaining back.

Noom has really great information presented in "bite sizes" - it's not overwhelming, but daily, reminders, suggestions, check-ins. And, as I've stuck with it, I have actually been able to eliminate soda, sweeteners, etc. I'm eating mostly whole foods. Nourishing my body, no room or desire for processed.

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

WOW, what an experience

By Robert V., Alabama, Verified Reviewer

I have tried a lot of "programs" in the past, and they would work for at best a few months. I played Racquetball 3 days a week, kept pretty active and still would only lose a couple of pounds only to put them back on later. I was very frustrating to "eat light" and not reap the rewards. And that was the problem for me, I treated the situation like it was a "quid pro quo" (I would do something, therefore, I could do something else as a reward).

Understanding "FOOD CHOICES" and why we make them has been a total game changer for me. I no longer starve myself to reward myself. You know when you write it down, it just doesn't make sense to do that to yourself. The "Noom Nerds," with all the stories and facts and figures, are very helpful. I will admit that some scenarios presented are not applicable to me, but I still read them.

I have a routine (routines are good): Get up in the morning about 6:30 AM (wash my groggy face), and then go weigh myself. Check the Blood Sugar and enter all the information in my daily journal and record the amount of steps from the previous day. I have a step counter from Samsung which recorded 13,000 plus steps one day and the Noom app only recorded 135 steps. I just enter the steps recorded by my Phone's App, and we're good to go. DON'T GET FRUSTRATED with that part of the app, everything else works.

I appreciate getting messages from my Coach and posting comments and reading other people's questions and comments. It's a way to keep yourself accountable. I hold myself accountable to me, and I am in this program for me. I have followed the program for just over 4 weeks and dropped 10 pounds (4.54 kg). The joy of getting out of one weight range and dropping to the next below is elating, to say the least. I was stuck in that weight range for so long it became the new normal (it wasn't, that was only in my mind). To see where my graph show I will be on March 2, 2019, is at a weight I have not seen in many, many years.

I have a selfie of when I started (sorry you don't get to see that yet), and will make one for every week until March 2, 2019. At that time, I will start again with the selfies for another period.

As I said earlier, I played Racquetball 3 days a week, unfortunately, our club closed down. I joined the YMCA, got with an instructor who put together a routine for me, and that has been excellent for me. There are a lot of "weight loss" programs out there. Notice I said "weight loss programs?" Noom is different, as it teaches you to make HEALTHY CHOICES and gives lots of encouragement and information. I made a commitment to me, and these are a few thoughts I have. My journey continues...

Like no other program, and I’ve tried them all

By Cynthia C., Phoenix, AZ, Verified Reviewer

This program does what so many others have promised and never delivered. Noom has let me change my lifestyle in a comfortable natural individualized way that brought down my weight and increased my strength and activity level. Being diabetic, it’s not too dramatic to say Noom has added quality and quantity to my life. It leaves room for screwing up and eating brownies. It provides accountability and support without humiliation or embarrassment. It doesn’t take much time either because it’s an app on your ever-present phone. It’s way more affordable than a gym, even if you add an inexpensive version of a Fitbit, which really enhances the Noom activity-boosting element. You can use Noom to lose some pounds over 4 months or like me you can stay on Noom indefinitely like a cheap personal trainer. Either way, I really appreciate it and the Noom staff (online group support and personal goal specialist) who feels like a real live friend after 16 months on Noom and 16 pounds off and staying off. Highly recommend.

Awesome app

By Ann A., Brodhead, WI, Verified Reviewer

This has been a great way to start making smart food choices. I love that they have a little bit of information each day to help you navigate weight loss and overall mindful eating. There is a built-in gauge to help you navigate your eating throughout the day and where it falls in your overall diet. It also has some great recipes that help you eat better and change your ideas about food. You can eat what you like, but better choices make you feel better. It also has some exercise suggestions that help incorporate good exercise. The coach/group part is helpful also. Makes you accountable but also lots of support.

Overall I have to say this app is a great way to change how you look at food, encourage you to make good choices but is not blind to pitfalls and slips.

Excellent program in every way!

By Beth A., Elba, NY, Verified Reviewer

I have been using Noom for nearly 6 weeks and I have successfully enjoyed every minute of it! The wonderful combination of calorie logging, education, exercise logging, and support from both a private goal specialist and a group support leader is fantastic. What I love the most has been the sense of humor brought to light in the daily informational teachings! I feel like there is a reality to how hard weight loss can be that is managed in the best of ways, and I'm laughing through it all. I look forward to each day's psychological lessons and the fully supported tasks. Thank you! I've lost 11 lbs so far and I know I can reach my goals in the future and change my lifestyle to that of a healthy one permanently!

It works!

I truly believe that eating three well-balanced meals a day has lead to successful beginning weight loss. Adherence to tracking these meals is the key.

Other helpful information has been important as well.

Noom review

By Carol M., Hermiston, OR, Verified Reviewer

Started on my health and weight loss last summer. I have struggled for almost 30 years with yo-yo dieting, lose some and gain more. In January I saw an advertisement on Facebook. I had lost but had hit a plateau and was not happy with the way I was going. I needed help.

I checked into the Noom and it sounded like something I could do. I decided to try this for me. One month later I have lost a few pounds, but most importantly I am gaining strength, changing my relationship with food, and becoming more active.

I have a few serious health problems, and Noom adapts and personalized for my program.

I get up every morning and look forward to making sure and completing my step. The first thing I do is weigh and take 10 minutes to read and complete the assignments.

The recipes are amazing and not complicated. I cook for me now. I am using more herbs and spices. I am learning to not reward with food. I grab a fresh orange or apple for snack. And add lots for fresh vegetables to all my dishes.

I am enjoying life and doing things I haven't done in a long time. The weight loss is great, but most importantly is that I am feeling more energized and healthier.

I feel like this will be a permanent lifestyle. Something I can do always.

I like it

By Ann K., Roseville, CA, Verified Reviewer

This is what a diet plan should be. No gimmicks. No special foods. It teaches how to be a better eater and lead a healthier lifestyle. There is individual work involved, but there are explanations for what to do and coaches to help along the way. It's convenient, all online, and inexpensive for the amount of help available. I recommend Noom for people who are serious about getting healthy.

Inspiring motivation

By E. G., Chicago, IL, Verified Reviewer

I started with Noom at the end of 2018. It wasn't even a New Year's resolution. I just liked what I heard and read about it. My coach is amazing. She understands me. The daily tasks, the readings and group posts are truly motivating and help me realize I'm not alone in my weight struggles. I love everything about it. I have lost weight, but I also have had slips. Noom understands that happens and it's not a failure. It keeps me going knowing I have that daily motivation to log my food and readings and my check-ins with my coach.

Very supportive and easy to do!

By Karyn F., Alberta, Canada, Verified Reviewer

I have been involved with many weight programs over the years. Noom uses the best of the programs to support you on a daily basis. You make slow simple changes that are easy to maintain. Don’t expect dramatic weight loss but expect to feel like you can live life while making healthy choices and consistent weight loss over time. I am grateful for the help.
