Great program

This is a different approach to weight loss. It teaches you to manage your diet in a way that can last a lifetime. It integrates dietary knowledge with the psychology of how and why we eat what we do. Weight loss may be gradual, but the effects should be lasting.

Interesting and frustrating at same time

1) I enjoy the psychology tips every day, but I don’t like that you can’t go back and reread them unless saved to library.

2) My Garmin doesn’t sync properly.

3) I don’t like that if you make an error on a recipe you create, you can’t go back and edit it.

4) My personal coach seems very automated. Wonder if it’s AI or a real person. I do like my Group Coach.

5) Only five weeks in, so curious to see how the next few months go...

6) Too early to determine if I’d recommend to others...

Love Noom so far!

So far I am loving Noom! Before Noom, I had problems gaining weight and not being able to keep it off. It seemed like I just kept gaining and gaining. I would eat aimlessly with no goal in mind. Sometimes, I would try a weight loss program restricting certain foods or calories, but it never worked.

Noom is great in that it is psychology based. It has helped me learn that some foods are okay, in moderation, which I think is key. I have lost almost 15lbs in a month and people are starting to notice.

I feel happier, healthier, and overall so much better since Noom. I would highly recommend this to a friend!

Great app and program

I have been trying to lose weight for years and nothing worked. After one month on Noom, I am down 13 pounds. Noom gives you nutritional, psychological and social tools to help navigate healthy weight loss. I have a long way to go, but with Noom I now have hope in the journey.

One month in

I have been very happy with Noom (and it certainly isn't the first diet I've tried!). I love the fact that it includes a pedometer. I counted about 16 habits that I am now incorporating into my standard routine such as using smaller plates (which fools my brain), parking further from the supermarket (which increases my daily steps), using salsa in everything from soup to eggs. I've also de-coupled my menu from my husband's - which means more cooking but allows me to control what I want to eat. I love the idea that a grape and a raisin have the same number of calories, but the grape fills up your stomach and the raisin doesn't...should I go on? Better if you do it yourself.

Finally

I have done it all - Weight Watchers, OPTIFAST, diet pills, low fat, low carb, Whole30, only to regain, every time, more than I had started with and feel like a failure for doing so. This is not a diet, it’s an education. It’s a science-based course on how to have a healthy relationship with food. Tracking food keeps me honest, goal coach keeps me focused, and my online team is everything a meeting SHOULD be - convenient, supportive, and helpful. I recommend it highly.

Great tool for weight loss

I'm one month into my weight loss journey with Noom and I am very pleased. I've lost 13 lbs to date.

I like almost everything about the app. It is so easy to use. It is easy to log both food and weight. It is convenient and less embarrassing that you can weigh your self at home, and you don't have to starve yourself until the "weigh in." The daily logging of both weight and food keeps you honest and on track.

I find the articles useful most of the time and they are good for engagement and commitment. It is nice to be able to bookmark the ones that really resonate. I've not used the recipes so much, and feel like I should be exploring those more. I also really like the weight loss graph. It is tracking an interim goal, which is much more attainable than the ultimate goal.

You get to join your group and get a coach assigned after two weeks. Nothing against the person that is my coach, but it really seems like we're just working off some script she has and don't think it has much value for me, which is a surprise...I thought the personalized attention would have been a top feature. For example, I kept mentioning that alcohol was much more tempting in the evening than sweets, but the focus remained on the sweets.

I like the group feature better, and feel like I can relate to several people in the group. This too has a leader/moderator, and the questions seem a little more relevant. I am not sure if they are daily, but if they are, that is too much. I don't want logging into the app to become a huge task. The feed seems to get a little overwhelming, perhaps it would help if answers to the moderator's questions were color coded in the background, and anything pertaining to someone's fitness could be hidden. Because I really don't care if someone biked for half an hour. Or perhaps if there was a separate fitness feed.

It would also be nice if we could save certain meals, as I know I repeat a lot of meals and that would make logging food even easier.

The step tracking is a great thing for me, although I find my phone is not the best device for capturing all my steps. I am tempted to get a FitBit for better accuracy.

To recap, I think the app is great. I'm submitting in hopes it might get a little better.

My Noom

I started Noom the first of the year. I’ve been on numerous different diet plans. None of them worked. Got frustrated with them, not losing ANY weight and quit. Noom is different. I’m down eight pounds since I started. First thing in the morning I weigh in and go right to the Noom app. Words of encouragement and explanations of what going on inside me. They have great recipes and wonderful coaches. This is a great program. Join today!

Loving it!

Noom has been great for me. For years I have tried to lose weight, but have been unable to "track" my progress or monitor my actions. Noom has helped me to visually see where I stand in my journey to lose weight and to begin every day with my goals front and center. I'm learning so much about my habits and tendencies towards food and how I can make daily changes that will last a lifetime. The writers at Noom are so humorous. They make me laugh...something we can all use throughout the day. The creative way the modules are written keeps me engaged and interested. I really do believe I'll be successful this time. I've lost approx 5 pounds since I started, but the beauty is that I can see my greatest goal in sight. I would recommend this program to anyone!
