Terrible

I am on day 143 of my loan. The loan is for $260,000 and it appraises for $550,000.

Everything has been done including the survey, and now after 140+ days, I am being told that they need more documents. I have been approved 3 times, then they say oh wait, we need this and this.

This is not my first rodeo, I have refinanced before, but Quicken Loans keeps stalling hoping to find something they can change or cancel the loan. They do not do what they say and as far as I am concerned, they are using false advertisement. I think they just bring on new clients to be able to look good for their investors.

By the way, my credit score was 800+ when this all started.

Not honest

Rocket Mortgage wanted $19,000 to refinance a home with a credit score of 796, and my wife's credit score of 798. We got refinanced for $5,500 in total costs from another company. They lied to us over and over. They said they couldn't find my info on the application, I called and they found it. This is my personal experience. They were as rude as a company can be. They said they didn't care if I put in honest reviews, which I DID!

Horrible experience

The entire experience was horrible. There was an extreme lack of communication, and if there was any, it was me who initiated the conversation. I felt like I was dealing with a used car salesman who was passing me off from person to person. I never knew who was in charge of my loan or who my main contact person was and when I did contact I kept being told that person wasn't the one who could answer and to keep checking the dashboard. The dashboard was great for information but there is a personal aspect that is expected while dealing with a refinance. The whole process took 2.5 months and no one could ever explain to me why things kept getting drug out. Then my wife was added to the loan but no one told us that she was being added or even asked us or explained to us why she was being added. When they asked to run her credit they said it was a requirement due to the state we lived in and the next thing we knew we were being sent documents to sign that included her on the loan. I have no trust with this company and have serious concerns that if I do have any issues that they will be resolved. I seriously regret ever working with Quicken Loans.

Very slow process

Very slow process with long periods of inactivity. Multiple re-submissions involved due to the slowness of the process. Very little communication during these delays (other than the communication initiated by my asking what you all were doing that was taking so long). Now using Better.com for a different refinance of an investment property I own - cleaner, smoother, and faster process with much better communication.

Terrible experience

Poor communication. I waited a long time to go to closing due to a 401k statement not ready from DOD. Once received, was told that it would not qualify and I need to have $6700 in my account replacement. If this info was provided I could have done that immediately.

Runaround process

The initial application was disapproved because the deed was in the name of a trust. The application should have been put on hold, and request that I have a quick claim deed processed, placing the deed in my name.

Getting the deal I wanted cost me an additional $3250 added to the loan total I wanted ($100.000 max) to get me the cash out I desired and interest rate desired. In my mind, the additional $3250 has just like paying points.

I would not recommend Quicken Loans to anyone I know for a refi.

Not a good experience!

This refinance was the most aggravating, frustrating, and exasperating experience I have ever endured. The first attempt was a complete disaster due to what appeared to be total incompetence on the part of the Rocket Mortgage team. The only thing that made the second team any better was the fact that I was actually able to close on the last day of the interest lock. The total 6-month experience had the appearance of an amateur hour.

My terrible experience

From the start, customer service personnel were terrible at providing information I needed all the way to even getting my mail delivered to the correct address. I should mention that my loan closed on March 29th, today is April 15th and I still have not received my mail which are checks to pay off credit cards.

Exaggerated process

Very poor follow-through and communications. Asked for same documents due to protracted time to close refinance. Existing customer for greater than 20 years and this is the first time I had difficulty with a loan application.

Disappointed

There was a significant delay after spending hours on the phone. The interest rate was messed up and we didn’t even get the rate we were promised. Trying to fix it would only have added to more delays. Very disappointed with the process this time around and the antiquated way the checks to pay off creditors are handled. The delays resulted in us taking more out from our loan to pay off debt as two billing cycles have passed. Now I have negative balances and am paying on that at a slightly higher interest rate.

Charged fees they weren’t suppose to and trying to renege on offer

I applied for refinancing because I received an offer from American Express, as a cardholder, to refinance with Rocket Mortgage and receive these offers:

1. $2000.00 credit towards my American Express account once your refinancing is closed.

2. Pay no Loan Processing or Underwriting Fees on refinancing (which they charged me $1250.00).

According to Zach B., Rocket Mortgage cannot do anything about these issues, even though I forwarded the email from American Express to Rocket Mortgage at the beginning of the whole process and was told verbally by Jason S. it would be $2000.00.

Not happy at all and will continue to seek help on this matter elsewhere.
