I would use Vroom again

Purchasing, delivery, and getting insurance for my car was easy. It took more time and effort to do the VIN check and smog because I had to do it. California requires smog and VIN verification when the car is from outside CA. So I had to do the footwork and send the documents back to Vroom for the car to be registered in CA. BUT! I asked Vroom to refund me for the VIN and smog and they did!

Strong start, weak finish

Overall my experience with Vroom was good. The two salespeople I worked with were very friendly and helpful. Both were easily accessible and always ready to answer my questions.

Unfortunately, my experience with the car delivery service (UZ Auto Trans Inc.) was quite the opposite. They were extremely difficult to get a hold of and very unprofessional. They gave me little to no notification on when the car was going to be delivered. They actually called me on one of my supposed "blackout dates" and relayed that they were "30 minutes away" and "were ready to drop off the car". When I told the delivery driver I was out of town at the time, he immediately hung up on me. The following day (Monday, 10/5), another one of my "blackout dates", they called me 10 plus times trying to figure out a time to deliver the car that day. I eventually had to take time off work in order to make the delivery happen.

I highly recommend Vroom reevaluate their options for car delivery services because this almost made the purchase not worth it.

Ok. Delivery challenges.

The selection and value of the vehicle were better than what was available locally. Delivery was delayed due to breakdown and communication was almost non-existent. Had to meet at a parking lot even though the truck probably could have made it down my street. The car was basically as described although very dirty from the trailer trip. The Interior wasn't very clean and had some animal hair. Had it inspected and everything checked out except the engine oil was overfull and tire tread is low. Vroom has offered to pay for the oil change though. Overall, happy with the experience and the vehicle.

Car buying made EASY!

Buying a new car for my wife was sooo easy with Vroom. The people who assisted us along the way (mainly Richard Marintette, but others as well) were amazing in walking us through the process and helping us to make sure everything was in order, while being genuine, kind, and professional.

An almost perfect way to buy a car

I have to tell you, I was genuinely shocked by how quick and pleasant this experience was. I did my research and found which car I wanted (2019 Hyundai Tucson) and ordered/made a down payment on October 29. I paid in cash which meant that I would have to handle registering the vehicle with the NY DMV. Not a problem for me. The next day, October 30, we received the contracts regarding transfer of ownership and such. We also submitted payment this day via wire transfer. The contract was fulfilled and the purchase process completed on November 2.

On November 4, I received an email stating the car shipped. Here was my only complaint. After discussing the size of my street with several people at Vroom, it was recommended we use an alternate delivery address, a parking block a few minutes away. On November 9, I was called and asked when I could receive the car and was given a chance to get it the next day, November 10. The delivery driver called us in the day and told us he would be there around 4 pm. We arrived at the lot and waited until about before calling him back. We mentioned that we’re in the parking lot, at which point he said he was on the way to our house, not the lot. We were only a few minutes away so it wasn’t an issue, but I’d recommend confirming with the driver the address they’re going to. For me, it was a minor inconvenience, a non-issue, but this could be an issue for someone else, so as I said, I do recommend to confirm with your driver the delivery address.

The driver arrived at our house at around 4:50 and we took possession of the vehicle. The car was nearly exactly as described, there was one physical defect that wasn’t mentioned in the listing, however, it was so minor that I personally didn’t find it necessary to make a fuss about it. Again, be aware that there may be some defects that you’ll need to look for. I took the car to my mechanic and it was absolutely pristine. They were very impressed with the quality of the vehicle that was delivered, as was I. The car is excellent and I’m super happy with it. The title was sent overnight via FedEx and was received on November 24. My temporary plates expire in January so it gives me plenty of time to have the vehicle registered as well.

I never had an issue with getting in touch with anyone either. My only issue was when calls were transferred, I never ended up getting on with someone so I would just hang up and use the prompts to get to the department I needed and my call was always answered immediately. So, I cannot rate this transaction 5 stars because it wasn’t completely perfect, but I can rate it a solid 4 stars and say if you want to avoid the hassle of a dealership or if you want to have your car delivered, Vroom is an excellent option in purchasing a vehicle.

Leery at first...

I recently bought a car from Vroom because new used cars are pretty much extinct in Kansas. When I first was considering an online vehicle purchase the first thing I did was to read the reviews. 98% of the reviews on Vroom were nightmare stories. My experience with Vroom was overall good. It could have been better by being more transparent. Did the information I had to send them get delivered? Ok, I chose not to use your financing. What happens next. Have I sent all of the documents needed? Enough examples. Long story short, I love my car. The shipping only took 3 days. I love my car!

Very easy

I was worried about dealing with a dealer and doing the dance. With Vroom, it was very easy to get the quote, and a decent quote too. The process is quick thru FedEx and the check came in as quick as the whole process.

Great job, Vroom!

I had a great experience with Vroom.

The ease of the website to search for the vehicle I wanted was easy. I love the ample amounts of photos that were available, including "imperfections."

I felt comfortable submitting the deposit in order to hold the vehicle and begin the process. From start to finish, the process took me about 4 days to place my deposit, and get my financing together and solidified.

Now, I purchased my vehicle 2 days before Christmas, so, unfortunately, I did NOT get my vehicle in 14 days due to all of the holidays. I got my vehicle just under 3 weeks later.

The only feedback that would cause me to give a 4–4.5 star rating was the glitch in communication after I finalized paperwork to when my paperwork was delivered.

I had minimal communication after finalization to delivery. I called support twice and was told I should have been receiving multiple emails, and I did not. I had to call in a few times to get status updates. The day before delivery, and even the day after delivery, I started receiving emails that I know I was supposed to get weeks prior and in a more regular interval. When I did speak to support, I was told it was a glitch and they put in a ticket for them to contact me more often.

Other than that, I would purchase from them again in a heartbeat.

A few bumps in the road but well worth it

Semi-smooth transaction, only frustrating when having to resend documents over and over and speak to multiple reps who don't seem to communicate with one another. Overall, though, it was worth getting the exact car for the price I wanted.

A great car and GREAT customer service!

We had a great experience buying a van through Vroom. Not only have we loved the van and found it in excellent condition, we've had spectacular customer service.

I misplaced the key documentation in the process of moving, creating an enormous administrative headache. The Vroom staff dutifully and uncomplainingly helped resolve my issue.

They have been Wonderful!

Read all the bad reviews, took a chance...not so bad.

So after reading the 300 negative reviews, I can honestly say I was VERY nervous about the transaction. Pages and pages of bad reviews, my experience was different and challenging, but all in all, I am very happy.

The primary issue with Vroom is they have all their sales calls going thru a call center where no one knows anything about cars. The call center was Rock Auto disguised as a Vroom. After 3 minutes with these people, I knew what the deal was. What I did was run a VIN check on the Porsche 911 cabriolet I was interested in to see where the car was located. Once I found out, I called the dealer direct from an old ad on eBay. They put me in touch with a TRUE sales guy, and we went over the car in detail. No call center BS.

I was approved for the car quickly and the finance team sent the paperwork out timely. To my surprise, the car was shipped from Texas to New Jersey in less than 5 days after all docs were signed. The car was delivered and like others have stated, was not clean and the car did have a damaged rim. I went to my local Porsche dealer and they validated the issue.

Here's where the 5 stars come into play. I called customer service and Christy Leal in the Vroom customer service department approved a new Porsche rim, almost $2000.00 that day to be replaced on the vehicle. They dealt directly with the dealer and simply kept me in the loop.

The issue with Vroom is that they are relying on a call center who merely reads from a script. This is not good. If you do a little homework on the car you see listed on their site like I did, you can avoid the call center, Rock Auto. This will alleviate 99% of the stress, and you will get a nice car at a great price.

I can proudly say I am one of the few happy people that has purchased a car from Vroom. I would definitely buy another car from them. Christy Leal is an excellent employee and she deserves the 5 starts I have given.
