Dull, aging skin is something most people want to avoid, and many skincare products promise to turn back the clock and restore your youthful appearance.

As the self-proclaimed “#1 body treatment system for dry, crepey skin”, Crepe Erase promises to keep you looking younger by targeting the thinning skin on your face, arms, and chest and re-plumping it to give it a more youthful glow.

Crepe Erase is endorsed by actresses Jane Seymour and Courtney Thorne Smith, and the brand claims to rely on a revolutionary two-step anti-aging system that works after the first treatment.

Our review will help you decide if Crepe Erase is the right product for you to keep your skin looking its best.

What Causes Crepey Skin?

No matter who you are, aging will take a toll on your skin. Due to sun damage and diminishing amounts of elastin and collagen, it’s natural for your skin to start becoming thinner and lose its ability to retain moisture as you get older.

This creates the right conditions for developing a crepey appearance, fine lines and wrinkles, and dry, scaly skin. Says esthetician Allison Tray from Tres Belle Spa, “most of us begin to see crepey skin as we age due to loss of collagen and elasticity. Dryness can also play a factor, as well as weight loss”.

While crepey skin can appear anywhere on the body, it tends to form in the places where the skin is naturally thinner and most exposed to the sun, like the hands, arms, chest, and face. This process can start as early as your mid-30s, but it’s usually most pronounced by around 45.

While there’s not much you can do to prevent crepey skin altogether, can skincare products like Crepe Erase restore your skin? Let’s look closer at what this product line promises.

How Does Crepe Erase Promise to Work?

According to the product website, Crepe Erase promises to restore your aging skin through a product range that acts as gentle exfoliators and “super hydrators” filled with antioxidants from natural ingredients like apple, dill, and sage that drench the skin to boost its moisture content.

The company claims that their internal evaluation of 54 participants showed that 80% of women saw an immediate reduction in the look of their crepey skin after just one use.

This matches what we learned from Dr. Tsippora Shainhouse, a board-certified dermatologist in Los Angeles. “Topicals can help plump the appearance of the skin, strengthen the skin barrier and encourage new collagen growth. Use these regularly to notice an improvement in about three months,” she told us.

“Applying topical antioxidants in the morning can help prevent oxidative UV damage before it happens. Applying it at night can help undo it before it creates a permanent collagen breakdown. This helps maintain skin firmness.”

The company offers a range of skincare products designed for both day and night use, which Shainhouse tells us can help stave off crepey skin in the long run.

Key Takeaway

The Crepe Erase product line promises that its moisturizing ingredients will plump up your skin, improve firmness, and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

What Products Are Available from Crepe Erase?

Crepe Erase offers six products that are available in different combinations depending on what package deal you order:

Body Smoothing Pre-Treatment

This gentle exfoliator is designed for daily use and preps your skin for the Advanced Body Repair Treatment. With consistent use, the company states that you will “uncover visibly smoother, softer skin from the neck down.”

To use, you’ll need to apply the cream to wettened crepey skin, and massage with gentle circular motions for several minutes before rinsing with warm water.

Top-five Ingredients: Sodium C14-16 olefin sulfonate, hydrogenated castor oil, comaidopropyl betaine, glycerin, propanediol.

Advanced Body Repair Treatment

Containing Crepe Erase’s proprietary TruFirm® Complex and 9 Super Hydrators™, this fast-absorbing formula is designed to improve the tone, texture, and elasticity of your skin to give you a more youthful appearance on your arm, knees, chest, and neck.

After exfoliating your skin, you can apply the treatment to the problem area in gentle circular motions until it is absorbed.

Top-five Ingredients: Olea europaea (olive) fruit oil, stearic acid, hydroxystearic/linolenic/oleic polyglycerides, dimethicone, glycerin.

Refining Facial Scrub

This facial scrub was designed to promote healthy cell turnover and visually repair and restore a dull, aging complexion. For best results, use it daily on your face and neck, gently massaging into place for one to two minutes.

Top-five Ingredients: Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Glycerin, Acrylates Copolymer, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Cetyl Esters

Restorative Facial Treatment

This treatment is infused with the company’s TruFirm complex to visibly plump, firm and repair dry, dull skin to diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. You are meant to massage the treatment into your face and neck for one minute, or until completely absorbed.

Top-five Ingredients: Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter, Cetearyl Alcohol

4-in-1 Line Smoothing Capsules

This serum contains a concentrated formula meant to reduce the signs of fine lines from your face. The company states that you’ll get the best results from using one capsule a day. To use, twist a capsule open and gently apply the serum where your face needs the nourishment.

Top-five Ingredients: Isododecane, neopentyl glycol diheptanoate, dimethicone crosspolymer, phenylpropyldimethylsiloxysilicate.

Are Crepe Erase Ingredients Safe and Effective?

Because it is standard practice to sort ingredients list by greatest concentration, we chose to look at just the top five ingredients in every Crepe Erase product to see whether they stood out to us.

To aid the research process, we looked at each of these ingredients in the EWG (Environmental Working Group) Cosmetics Database. Here are our takeaways.

Generally, the ingredients within these products fall under the categories of skin conditioning agents, cleansing agents, solvents, binding agents, and fragrance ingredients. This makes sense, as these kinds of ingredients are standard in many skincare products.

One common compound in Crepe Erase products is glycerin. This moisturizing powerhouse is used to hydrate the skin and prevent dry, rough patches. It’s created during the soap-making process when glycerin splits away from fatty acids and blends with water, and the compound is often extracted for other cosmetic products.

Propanediol is another common ingredient in personal care products. Though it’s considered safer than propylene glycol, a compound it often replaces, studies’ results aren’t definitive yet.

Are there any ingredients that you should be aware of? Two caught our attention for having potentially troubling side effects.

First, cocamidopropyl betaine is a synthetic detergent that is often used to increase the foaming properties of skin and hair products. The EWG notes that there is a moderate risk of allergies and skin irritation from using products that contain it.

Second, dimethicone, a silicone-based organic polymer, can typically be used on your skin without a problem, though some people experience burning, stinging and redness from using it.

Key Takeaway

Crepe Erase product’s main ingredients include common skin conditioning agents. A few products contain compounds that may irritate the extra sensitive skin, but most people should be able to use these products without ill effect.

How Much Does Crepe Erase Cost?

You can purchase Crepe Erase products off the company website individually or in multi-product systems.

Individual product purchases are at the following price points:

  • Body Smoothing Pre-Treatment: $51
  • Advanced Body Repair Treatment: $79
  • Refining Facial Scrub: $44
  • Restorative Facial Treatment: $44
  • 4-in-1 Line Smoothing Capsules: $38

You can save 15% off any individual order by signing up for an auto-delivery subscription in which you receive a new shipment every three months. The subscription is optional if you buy products individually.

The Systems range in price from $39.99 to $69.99, and they each contain different combinations of the products mentioned above. All first purchases qualify for free shipping, and they automatically enroll you in an auto-ship subscription.

This means that after one month and then every three months after, you will be sent new products and auto-charged the full purchase price three times, plus $3.99 for shipping and handling. In other words, your first order of the Advanced 5-Piece Body + Face System will cost $59.99, but each delivery after that will cost $179.97.

The only way to opt-out of this program is to contact customer service at (888) 708-2042.

All Crepe Erase products are covered by a 60-day, money-back guarantee (minus shipping and handling) so you can request a refund for any product you aren’t happy with.

Our advice: be cautious when signing up for your first order. Auto-ship programs are sometimes more about roping you into recurring charges than they are about providing any kind of convenience, so proceed with caution.

What Do Customers Think of Crepe Erase?

Close to 150 customers have weighed in on Crepe Erase on our website, and the product averages 1.8 stars. Here are key takeaways from the reviews:

Improvements to Crepey Skin

Twenty reviewers left Crepe Erase a five-star review. These reviewers raved that the products worked as described and that their skin was looking better than ever after using them regularly.

Products Didn’t Work

A large portion of Crepe Erase customers thought that this product made little, if any, difference for their skin. A few noted that the products worked as well as standard moisturizers and did little to reduce the appearance of crepy skin.

Works Only with Consistent Use

Some users noted that they saw improvements in their skin after using Crepe Erase products, but that the results were only temporary. In a few cases, customers wrote that they occasionally skipped a treatment day and that their progress disappeared immediately when they did so.

Trouble with the AutoShip Program and Returns

By far, the biggest complaint we noticed about Crepe Erase was that shoppers ended up paying for than they expected. Some didn’t realize they were signing up for an auto-ship program while others continued to be billed even after they thought they had canceled their account.

Many reviewers reported frustrating experiences getting in touch with customer service and cancel their subscription, as they were often on hold for up to an hour before getting in touch with someone.

Key Takeaways

Though some customers are happy with Crepe Erase, most think the products are too expensive, don’t work as promised, and come with a questionable auto-shipment policy.

The Bottom Line: Should You Try Crepe Erase?

Crepe Erase products show some potential to keep your skin healthy and moisturized, but we believe that this line of skincare products will have to work hard to live up to its promises of significantly reducing your fine lines and wrinkles.

While the experts we spoke with told us that skincare products could make a significant short-term difference in your skin’s appearance, a moisturizing cream can’t do enough to restore the hydration that it loses over time.

Topicals like Crepe Erase can temporarily plump up the of the skin and even boost collagen production, but the customer reviews for Crepe Erase show us that the overall effect is often subtle or even unnoticeable.

Likewise, many customers have taken issue with the company’s return policy and auto-ship program.

Creams can help crepey skin, but they don’t match the effects of a medical procedure. If you choose to go that route instead, Shainhouse suggests micro-needling (Dermapen), radiofrequency, ultrasound or laser treatments.

However, the best way to avoid crepey skin is to prevent it in the first place. Stay moisturized, keep out of the sun if you aren’t wearing SPF, and follow a healthy diet. These lifestyle choices can help you keep your skin at its best for as long as possible.

Although I was also a paid guinea pig, I am also a customer who absolutely loves this product. Keep in mind, I spent over six months trying this product before it went to market and it truly works! Although it does take time and patience to see some benefits, overall many of mine were instant. I highly recommend it and am thrilled to be a user of crepe erase.

I have tried many products including Dr. Pericon's cold plasma. I Have only been using these products for a couple of days and I don't know what it has in it but the difference is incredible. Sometimes one thing works for one person and not for another. This one works for me. It's worth a try.

I used the product this morning after my shower for the first time. I am shocked by how great the results are! Just yesterday I was wondering what I was going to do about my skin and then my package arrived and I got to try the product. I keep looking at my skin in disbelief, but the proof is in the seeing and for me it worked!

I am 73 years old and when I saw the infomercial on Crepe Erase I was very interested. When you are 73 years of age, the skin has had a lot of time to get wrinkled and look like you stayed in the dryer too long. I received my Crepe Erase yesterday, on 04/28/15. This morning I used my Exfoliating lotion, Eye lotion, and the body cream. I love the fragrance, but most of all my skin feels alive. It has a glow, which OTC lotions do not give you. I will keep trying for the next 30 days hoping to see more results.

I love it! I bought fifteen packages and put it all over my body and now I look 19 again. What a miracle! I am going to order all they have and give it to all my friends so that they can look as smooth and amazing as I do. Thank you.

Just received it today with little hope but put it on without a mirror and left. When I got home I looked in the mirror and saw obvious results. My face still looks young, but I have had neck lines since my mid 20s. Mine are pretty bad and I had given up but this stuff really helped.

I am completely hooked on this line from Crepe Erase and yes, I've tried them all! My skin looks dewy and hydrated after use. I keep a jar in my desk at work and reapply during the day. It's a nice pick me up. Also, since I already have a face cream that I love, I use the facial treatment all over my body. It's not as heavy as the body treatment so it's nice on hotter days. Love the scent of the products too!

  • Not enough product

    • By Ruth Dodge,
    • Albany, GA,
    • Aug 17, 2015

I love this product but for $60.00 a month I don't feel there is enough for the full 90 days. And also my next shipment would not have included the free products that were included in my order, which makes sense I guess, those products were wonderful also. When I called to ask why the product only lasted 60 days instead of 90, I really got no where except she keep saying to use only a small amount. Again, that is all fine but the amount they say to use is not enough if you are doing more than one problem area, I feel the 90 days only last for 60 days. Maybe someone other than the girl I spoke with could help me with this please. The young lady was very sweet but could not help me. I did cancel my order on 6/1815 as I was out of product and would not receive another shipment until 7/30/15. Please help.

Finally something that is not a scam! I am impressed with this product. I noticed results right away and so did my husband! The sample of eye serum is awesome as well. Try it.

  • Positive so far

I've been reading some negative reviews, some positive, I just want to say I've been using it for almost a month, I actually thought I saw results a couple of days after using. I told nobody what or that I had ordered this, but I saw some family members who I haven't seen since before I started using these products (I didn't want a fake response), they kept looking at me and I said what is it, and they NOTICED. They said I really looked so good, I could tell they were being honest, before they never said that, so I say it definitely is doing something for me, my face yes, my knees (I put on my crepey knees), and no matter how much I apply, my skin just soaks it up, like it's so thirsty and loves it. Like us getting dehydrated and drinking lot of water, that's how my skin reacts to Crepe Erase, it is being hydrated. Thanks, I will continue using, especially seeing the way others look at me, not my imagination, they are assuring me that it's working,.I will tell them in a couple months, thank y'all, normally I would never order anything like this, but Jane Seymour I trust.

  • Crepe Erase alternative

My friend has this product and she gave me some to try. It works great. However I found that Gold Bond Ultimate healing skin therapy lotion with aloe is just as good and it's not expensive like Crepe Erase. I no longer have crepe arms, upper arms or legs.

Thin lotions don't help with this problem. Thick lotions like Crepe Erase and Gold Bond do. Apply after showers to slightly damp skin.

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
