What Is Energy Renew?
Energy Renew by Gundry MD is a supplement that allegedly increases your cells' natural ability to create its own energy, while also providing protection and helping them burn fat.
The company's purported benefits for the supplement are:
- Addresses your fatigue
- Cellular energy support
- Promotes clearer thinking
- Maintain healthy metabolism after the age 50
To use, you’ll mix one scoop of the powder with 10 fl. oz. of water and consume.
Sources of fatigue are wide-ranging and commonly encompass less concerning factors typically related to lack of sleep or poor diet. However, sometimes more serious underlying issues may be the cause of fatigue.
This review examines the ingredients' effectiveness, safety, and whether this supplement is right for you.
Ingredients
According to the supplement facts label listed on the Gundry MD website, Energy Renew contains the following:
- Vitamin C 5 mg
- D-Ribose 5,000 mg
- N-Acetyl L-Carnitine 500 mg
- Polyphenol Blend 300 mg – Beet Root Extract, Hibiscus Flower Extract, Betta Berries (Acai, Acerola, Amla, Jabuticaba, Cranberry, Goji, Mangosteen, Maqui Berry, Pomegranate, Strawberry, Schisandra Berry)
Vitamin C is an antioxidant that can combat free radicals, substances associated with harmful oxidative stress, as well as support immune function.
These effects were demonstrated when the combination of 3g of vitamin C and 2g of vitamin D prevented the oxidative stress from sunburn over 50-days.
Its relationship with the immune response has also been demonstrated; vitamin C levels drop during acute infection or stress. Also, 55 patients that were treated with 60 mg/Kg body weight of vitamin C experienced elevations in white blood cell levels, cells we use to fight infection.
D-Ribose is a naturally occurring sugar that plays a large role in energy production. At 15g/day, D-Ribose improved energy in patients with chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalgia.
In healthy subjects undergoing intense exercise, 10g/day of D-Ribose reduced perceived exertion, as well as blood tests that indicate muscle damage, over the course of 5-days.
N-Acetyl L-Carnitine also plays a role in energy production as it works to transport enzymes that breakdown fatty acids into the mitochondria, the powerhouse of your cells.
Created by the liver, kidney, and brain, it can also be obtained from meat products. Vegetarians that received 2g/day for 3-weeks increased both blood and muscle carnitine levels though this did not improve muscle function during exercise.
In contrast, 26 healthy subjects prolonged their ability to exercise with 3-4g/day over 1-week.
Polyphenols are compounds found in fruits, vegetables, and wheat products that are thought to play a role in energy metabolism, while also offering antioxidant, disease-fighting, and brain-boosting capabilities.
Over 12-weeks, cognitive function improved in 12 elderly adults with memory decline after consuming 6 and 9 ml/kg of concord grape juice, a beverage known to be packed with polyphenols.
The relationship between quercetin, a type of polyphenol, and exercise performance has been extensively investigated. While performance improvements were noted in a review of 11 studies, they were minimal. Also, the duration of treatment and dosing (up to 1000mg/day) did not affect these results.
Potential Side Effects
The studies reviewed here included doses comparable, or substantially larger, when compared to those offered in Energy Renew.
Vitamin C was safe at 3g/day over 50-days without adverse events. Nausea, diarrhea, and headaches are possible with excess amounts.
Both D-Ribose and N-Acetyl L-Carnitine were safe at doses 2-4x larger than Energy Renew. Both can similarly be associated with digestive issues like stomach cramping and diarrhea.
Polyphenols are generally safe. The company does not offer details for dosing in each individual ingredient in this blend, though quercetin was safe at more than 3x Energy Renew’s total polyphenol dose.

Amazing
I'm a recovering addict, 51 days sober. I've been sober as much as 115 days in the past 17 years. But never maintained because I never ever felt good. At 51 days sober and on this approximately 30 days now, I feel amazing, better than I have in way more than 17 years. This is a God sent miracle that I'm sure will give me the added help I needed to stay sober! God bless!

Lowered my blood pressure.
I really liked this Energy Renew powder. I mixed it with water and it had a good flavor to it. It also lowered my blood pressure when I went to the doctor. My blood pressure always goes up when I go to the doctor. My doctor was glad to see my blood pressure lower. I would like to know why I am unable to purchase Energy Renew again? When will you all have it back on the market for purchase? I need some soon.

Love it
I love the boost it gives me every morning. I travel for work and wouldn’t think of doing so without it!
I have recommended to several friends who now use it daily also!
They tell me they also feel the difference almost immediately starting on it.

I ran out of the product.
When I ran out of the Energy Renew, I called to re-order only to be told it was unavailable. My wait was a week and my energy absolutely disappeared. I was amazed. My energy was so lessened I vowed NEVER to be without this product again!
It really works.

Energy Renew is amazing!
Since trying Energy Renew (which I combine with Vital Reds, Primal Plants, and ProPlant Shake each morning), I have discovered that I can go all day with excellent energy. I have recently adopted Dr. Gundry's routine of going approximately 20-22 hours without eating any solid food. I do have coffee in the morning, but only because I like the taste, not because I need it to wake up. And I have found I need less sleep, though I wake refreshed each morning! And any cravings for sweet or snack foods has practically disappeared. Okay, once in awhile french fries to tempt me, but I usually resist. I would highly recommend this product to anyone!

Energy
I have found that I am reaching my walking and step goal and even exceeding them. I am looking for time to walk and I even want to go out and walk! This has not been the case prior to drinking this every day. I certainly seem to have more energy.

Am liking this product!
When I received my Energy Renew, it had been a month since I had my esophagus stretched and was put on Prilosec for acid reflux. It took two weeks to get used to the changes I was experiencing. I was concerned about starting the Energy Renew when it arrived. But I decided to give it a try.
The flavor is delightful...light and no aftertaste. I had no bad effects so have continued taking it. I have just finished the first container.
I’m not exactly sure how to describe my reaction. First, I feel healthier...I think it might be helping my reflux...is this possible? I feel calmer and more focused. I am 74 and my exercise is water aerobics to keep my joints moving.
My doctor wants me to lose 15 lbs so I hope to add walking to my schedule. To sum this up, I am feeling better now that I am taking Energy Renew. I highly recommend it and plan to continue taking it!

Great product
I was intrigued by the product's claim to renew energy. I purchased the item and am very impressed with the taste (very pleasant) and the ability to restore my long lost energy. I would lose my "steam" in the early afternoon and it was down hill from there prior to taking this remarkable product. I now have energy that I used to have and can continue my pursuits of the day all day long. I also find myself sleeping better, waking rested and ready to go. I also like the taste of the product, even finding myself craving it in the morning. Kudos to you and your staff for creating such a great product.

More motivated to work out
One of the barriers to my going to the gym more was fatigue at the end of the day. Now I don't feel as tired and have a more positive outlook.
It tastes great. I take it the AM with 6 oz of water.

I really enjoy the taste of energy renew. I take the Energy Renew product first thing each morning as part of my breakfast. I have noticed an increase in my energy and focus after incorporating Energy Renew into my daily regimen.

Amazing energy
I can't believe how much energy I have using this product! I gave a jar to my daughter and just asked her to try it and let me know what she thought. She is 45 and said it is amazing! She recently flew to visit her brother and 8 nieces and nephews in Alaska. She flew up on a Friday red-eye and flew home on the Sunday red-eye. She took Energy Renew with her and said she felt great for the full weekend, even with no sleep!
I had surgery in December and recovery has been difficult. I've been so exhausted, which is what prompted me to originally order this.
Since I've been using Energy Renew, I have so much energy yet easily fall asleep at night, something else I was struggling with.
