Noon is for me. I'm not where I want to be, but I'm on my way.

I like Noon because it's easy to log whatever I eat and get the calories for it. I like the idea the foods are listed as green, yellow and red - I can see what I'm doing wrong and change it. I like the idea I can weigh every day and log it. I look forward to getting information of some form every day. It's good to have a coach who cares and takes an interest in how I'm doing. I have recommended noon to others. I'm excited about the whole program. It's so easy for me. I like reading what everyone posts.

I’ve tried almost every diet imaginable...

Noom is different in that you don’t really start out with a strict plan. They help you recognize some of the problems we have with the way we think (about food, diets, exercise, etc.). It’s the missing piece for me. I think it’s definitely worth a try, if you've tried everything else.

Why Noom works for me

I needed accountability with flexibility in a weight loss program. I actually like Weight Watchers but couldn’t find a good location or really have the time to go to meetings. I was hooked by the promise of a personal coach, but what I actually love the most is the daily tasks of learning the science behind every facet of weight loss. The psychological and hormonal science is particularly interesting to me. I get a lot out of spending time on the app first thing in the morning - I look forward to it and it helps set the tone of my day. I also really like the group and group coach for more interaction and support. I am motivated to get my steps in to get that checked off and of course the logging of food for the day. I’m actually a little concerned about what to do when I am done losing weight (hopefully by the end of this month).

6 weeks on Noom

I have been on Noom for 6 weeks and found it easy to follow and do. I like how the counselor and my group are very encouraging and easily accessible. They always have a quick response. My only complaint or concern is that the Noom doesn't match to my Fitbit, but that is very small.

Positive program

The Noom program is very positive. It’s very motivating. I look forward to the different types of readings. I always have a feel of positive commitment to maintain. Thanks to this program I (1) enrolled in a gym, (2) I learned a new eating habit, and (3) I correspond with other individuals who are in a group. I love this program, I tried many programs, i.e Atkins Diet, Military Diet, I stayed with those for a week or two, but the Noom program, I’m sticking to it until the end. Team Noom!

Best for long term weight loss

Noom is the best tool to help anyone achieve and maintain a healthy weight. They tell you why and teach you how to learn to live. They teach you the reasons behind behaviors, the way to change your long-lived habits into healthier bags, how to deal with ups and downs. They analyze how you eat. Have healthy recipes available, quite good meal ideas.

Just when I realized I was experiencing a plateau, their topic of the day was a discussion on why plateaus happen and strategies to deal with it. I have learned so much. Every morning I open the app and read and learn. Best thing ever.

Waste of money

The first few days were awesome. My coach was motivating and really made me feel like she cared about my progress. Gradually I heard less and less from her, and eventually, she told me she was no longer going to check in on me because she didn’t want to bother me. Which made absolutely no sense to me. I would love to be able to get my money back. I feel defeated.

It’s okay

Pros:

- Food tracker is easy to use.

- Articles are helpful and informative.

- Science feels legit.

- App is nice to use, and I like the look.

- Habit-forming, in a good way (I went off over the holidays and felt like something was missing from my day).

Cons:

- Customer service is sometimes unhelpful.

- I don’t feel really connected to my coach (though I did with my previous coach, who disappeared after a snafu with my first subscription; see above re customer service).

- Accountability is limited, despite the coach; it’s still easy to skip or forget, which has made the process really long for me.

- Group chat function is jumbled and hard to follow.

- Fitbit sync doesn’t always keep up.

All in all, I like it, but for the price, there are still plenty of things I’d change to make it work better for me. It’s not all Noom, I know I have been a slacker from time to time, but weight loss is hard work and I don’t always feel like the radically different approach is very different from, say, Weight Watchers, which I tried a year or so ago. I switched to Noom because of the promise of a significantly different experience and I wouldn’t say it’s as different as I had hoped. If there are ways that I could be getting more out of it by working harder on my end, I’d be willing to put in the work, but out of the box, Noom is about the same as other app-based weight loss platforms, just quite a bit more expensive.

Excellent experience!

I enjoy the reminders and positive reinforcement. I eat what I want, but aware of calories and portions. The Coach is encouraging and supporting. The group gathered by joining time frame and like reading our posts to the group. Great way to re-orient a lifestyle to a more healthy and sustainable path. It only takes minutes to list a meal or snack and weigh in and post when I feel it is time to check. It can be a daily weigh-in if preferred. Positive reinforcement is key.

One month in and loving every minute

I’ve been using Noom for exactly one month and have dropped 6 pounds. The best part about it? It focuses on my mentality. It psychologically works with me to give me the best results. Weightloss is not a straight shot to your goal weight, and now I am understanding that. Lots of ups and downs, and I still managed to lose weight and gain so much more in myself. Worth taking the time and giving yourself the opportunity to grow.

Love the psychology aspect!

This is probably the same story as everyone else, but I did other plans, lost weight, gained it back. I was looking into another program (a super expensive one!) when Noom came across my Insta feed. It was cheaper, which is why I wasn't sure I was going to try it. After 4 months, I decided to go ahead. I have learned so much about the way of my diet. Instead of, "Hey! Just don't eat it!" I get the why, how, and tips/tricks to help me make informed decisions. I can still have the foods I like, but I learn how to do it moderately. This is a great program for anyone who has issues with stress/emotional eating.
