So thankful

So I keep seeing reviews everywhere from people who straight up say they haven't tried SDC, but "don't think it would work" or "doesn't think it's a good thing to do." That's not what a review is about. I went through a year with SDC and I am so thankful I took the leap. I finished my last retainer about six months ago and my teeth are perfect now!

There were minimal bumps in the process, and when I told them I wanted something about my teeth fixed, they fixed it! Their smile shops are the best, so if you have one in your area you can travel to, I highly recommend going there instead of doing an impression kit. I started my journey with at home molds and it worked. The smile shops are just so much easier and convenient. You get free things there too. If you're iffy about doing this, just do it. They are seriously some of the nicest customer service people I have ever met. Check out YouTube videos! It's a real process, it's not a scam, and it works.

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Horrible company! You get what you pay for.

I would not recommend this anyone. Definitely shop around. The whole treatment process is a bunch of crap. The trays are garbage, if you need a replacement they dont send it...or will make you wait and add 2 months to your treatment. When I was finished with my 5th month my teeth were still crooked. I had to get new trays, so I had to go and get more pictures taken of my teeth...have been waiting over 2 months. I finally called them and the order was never placed. And they have no answer for when they will be ready. Horrible customer service. I deeply regret ever getting these. If I would do it all over again I would get them from a professional Orthodontist, not some uneducated millennial that I wouldn't trust with a water gun let alone taking pictures of my teeth. STAY AWAY from SmileDirectClub!

Failed

I would not recommend this product. The product is poorly made. The customer service is nonexistent. I saw a slight improvement in the alignment of my teeth, however, nowhere near what was promised. The self-molding is not accurate, thus I had to go to an office. I have asked for a refund several times with no response. All I get are emails and phone calls asking for me to pay additional money for a retainer which was never discussed.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

So much regret

I think I’m saving money by cutting out the middle man, dealing purely with online resources. No. I’m saving money by dealing with a sub-par product.

After completion of the plan, my teeth didn’t move as indicated. I was told that the digital plan was an exaggeration...fine, let’s get more aligned to continue to move the teeth to where they need to go. Nope, they can't do that either.

I’ve gone to my dentist who at this point has confirmed my bite to be unstable (aesthetically I’ll crafted too - spaces everywhere). Teeth pushed beyond proper tissue tolerance, front teeth touching and taking the stress that molars should...he’s had patients who lost teeth using SmileDirectClub.

Now I have to pay to fix my bite, spending triple than if I had just done Invisalign to begin with.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Not happy

I started a SmileDirectClub plan in October of 2017 and met with a specialist in Chicago. I had some crooked teeth and was excited to give the plan a chance. They set me up with 7 months of aligners that I wore religiously for 21-22 hours per day. It was a pain to wear them every day and all day, but I kept thinking it would be worth it in the end.

After my 7 months were up, I noticed that my most crooked and visible tooth from the beginning that made me want to try the aligners hadn't straightened out at all. It was frustrating to think after 7 months that the tooth never straightened out. It was an upper tooth next to my 2 middle teeth. After calling SmileDirect, they said not to worry and sent me a home kit to make impressions. I followed the instructions and sent the kit in. After 5 or 6 weeks they sent me another set of impressions that I was to wear for 3 more months.

After that program ended, my tooth never adjusted. When I joined, I was told they had a money back guarantee, but when I asked, they told me the only thing they could do was to get me more aligners. This time I drove 5 hours to Chicago to see one of there specialists. She was very nice and said not to worry and that my teeth would straighten out after more aligners.

After 8 weeks, I received 6 more aligners that I was to wear for another 2 months. I finished the set and my front tooth is still crooked. The rest of my teeth did straighten out, but I was told I would have a perfect smile. My smile is much better except for the front tooth that is still very crooked. It's been 2 months since I finished the third try of aligners and haven't received any type of call asking how I'm doing or what my thoughts were. I never even got a call about a retainer for the other teeth that actually did straighten out. The plan is cheaper than a professional, so I guess you get what you pay for. 18 months of wearing their aligners and I still have some crooked teeth.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Hot mess!

I received my box yesterday and it was a hot mess. The plastic containers were smashed in the box on top of the pre-packaged aligners which were on the bottom, I was ready to return to sender this disorganized mess. There were several items missing. I called the support number today and the representative was rather curt with me at first. She said it was the lab that puts the boxes together and that she would reach out to them. I am wondering if I just wasted $1850? She told me she would have the missing items sent and if there was anything else she could do to make me smile today. That won't happen, not a happy customer!

Horrible experience...probably a scam.

Unfortunately, I canceled my order today for my wife. My wife was really looking forward to aligning her teeth with this product. I bought this for her as a Christmas gift and now we are in March 2019 and still have no product. Paid in full on January 5th of this year. It's too bad since I believe this could have been a good product, but we will never know. And the whole time being told that we would receive a tracking number the next day...they told me that on five different occasions. Well, now I wait to receive my money since I had already paid in full. They don't make people smile, they take your money and never provide a product/service.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

A big disappointment

I went to the consultation. I had my teeth scanned. I chose which plan I wanted. Everything was great. They even gave me lip balm and teeth whitening kit. But then...

I received a phone call. He told me I was approved for "both arches," which meant top and bottom. He told me the payment would be processed the next day, and my aligners will be in the making and shipped to me. Well, the payment was processed.

I waited for about three weeks. My aligners finally arrived. I was so happy. I washed my hands, brushed my teeth, and started going through all the stuff in the box.

The aligners, wait what! Only the bottoms! Not tops! I called them, and apparently, I wasn’t approved for the tops. Then they badgered me and didn’t want me to cancel. They didn’t want to give me my money back. They wanted me to wait to talk to someone that would explain why. No, they lied to me. I just want my money back. My teeth aren’t even that bad, just slightly off from being straight. They are a scam!

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Unacceptable wait

I received my box on 3/12 and started to wear my aligners last night.

I noticed that there was some black lettering/numbers implanted in the aligners (Top and Bottom), not bad because they are in the back, but there is a black spot on the top front tooth that is noticeable. Thought it was something on my teeth and that is when I noticed all the markings.

I contact customer service this morning, the gentleman that assisted me was helpful and very nice. My complainant is that I have to wait 2-3 weeks for a replacement, which is putting my plan further behind...they are remaking my month 1, week 1.

Why do I need to wait 2-3 weeks? This is no fault of mine and I was told this is what they can do. I already had to wait 4-5 for them and know 2-3 weeks more. I was told I could not wear the ones I have because it will mess up my plan.

Not impressed and feel the time length is unacceptable.

At this point, I don't know if I would recommend them to friends.

Bad customer service

This company makes a lot of claims that are false for many people. On January 11th I was promised aligners in 4 to 5 weeks. It’s past that, I’ve been calling and calling and I get the same message "your aligners are being prepped for shipment." They cannot give me a ship date and I feel that this practice is unacceptable. I am reading of horror stories of people who have had issues with their aligners of waiting forever for help or a correction. I recently contacted them to find out how I could cancel the order since I have yet to receive them and they can’t tell me when they will ship and the response was "someone will contact you in two days," let’s see what happens. I am very disappointed.
