Satisfied

By Karyn K., Florida, Verified Reviewer

I have been using BioTrust's products for a couple of years now. I have found that 33x works for me. I have tried several others like the Metabo one and BellyTrim. Unfortunately, these have not worked for me. I am still unsure if Leptiburn is doing anything.

I have ALWAYS had SUPER customer service. Every time I've called with an issue, it has been resolved even BETTER than I imagined. I don't understand some of the people here complaining about the customer service!? If they call the number on their receipt, someone is ALWAYS available to assist. I am COMPLETELY SATISFIED with the customer service. Good job! I just wish the weight products helped me more.

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Okay product but not worth the money

By Shawn Carpenter , Oklahoma

As many others have mentioned, there are tons of advertisements and up-sales as you try to check out. I've also been directed to their website from lots of other 'health' websites, which interestingly enough all use the exact same formats of emails, advertisement videos, and advice, and all swear by Biotrust. Hmm,sounds to me like one big giant ploy to get people to buy their product. I went ahead and gave it a try though, because they boast great tasting low carb all natural protein shakes and what not.

As far as taste goes, definitely not the best tasting protein shake by a long shot. Very gritty and has a weird after taste. And at 42 dollars per bottle plus shipping (if you order a min. of 3 bottles), you are much better off spending less than 30 dollars for a bottle twice the size of EAS, which is what I had been using in the past. Looking at the nutrition facts and ingredients, they are almost the same. Plus, EAS tastes way better in my opinion. So, I'd rather save the money in the future (and avoid the annoying ads and emails) and just buy that from the local grocery.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Great return policy

By Peter , Long Grove, IL

I bought 6 bottles of Bio Trim XP and it didn't work for me. I contacted company and they gave me no problems with the return of my money. They gave me three options of how to take the return. I did the one that was most convenient for me. If the products work for you I think you're dealing with a great company.

Videos don't tell you what you want to know

By Kim B., Tennessee, Verified Reviewer

I just recently became aware of BioTrust online. I have listened to a few videos and have made a purchase, which I am waiting to receive, of the LOW Carb Protein Shakes. Since then I have received several emails with more videos to watch and products to buy.

I received an email entitled "What Bananas Do to Your Body." I watched the entire video (almost 40 minutes) and not once were bananas mentioned.

First, the background of the video had pictures of bananas and cereal with bananas the entire time I was watching. Then, coming to the end, of course, I was asked to purchase a product. I am not happy about the waste of time this video was because it did not deliver what it said. Now reading some of these reviews on this page, I have become very nervous about the company.

Last, it would be nice if these videos could be paused or tell us how long they are from the beginning. I became determined to see if they delivered what they advertised and they did not.

On another subject, I was sure that the video I watched about the LOW Carb Shakes stated that Whey Protein was not good, yet in looking online at the Protein Bars, they state that Whey Protein is an ingredient and that it is good. I would like clarification on Whey Protein, please.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Company Response from BioTRUST

Jan 20, 2017

Hi Kim B.,

I hope this finds you doing well! My name is Tim Skwiat, and I am the Director of Nutrition and Exercise with BioTrust Nutrition.

It’s our goal to exceed the expectations of our customers with our products and our customer service. We want to provide you with nothing less than a 5-star experience. I'm dismayed to learn that you've provided a rating indicating anything less than that. I hope that you will provide us with the opportunity to do everything we can to make things right for you and ensure you enjoy the type of experience we set out to provide.

I also want to exterminate any concerns or anxiety you have about our company. I want you to contact me directly at tskwiat@biotrust.com at any time you have a question or concern. I guarantee that I'll leave no stone unturned to make sure that you're completely taken care of.

I do want you to know that we take customer feedback very seriously. Along those lines, we have submitted your comments and concerns directly to our marketing department for review.

With regard to your question about whey protein, I'd like to provide some insight. In one of our videos about BioTrust Low Carb, we do discuss a potential "dark side" of whey protein that pertains specifically to supplements that contain ONLY whey protein. For instance, whey is a "fast-acting" protein that has a narrow digestion window, which may limit absorption, and it also results in a large insulin response, which may not be desired by certain populations.

That being said, whey is a very high-quality protein that has been shown to have numerous advantages on appetite control, weight management, sports performance, immunity, and much, much more. For those reasons, we include whey in all of our current protein products, BioTrust Low Carb, BioTrust Protein Cookies, and BioTrust Organic Protein Bars.

The key, however, is that we combine whey with other proteins for a time-released effect. For instance, in Low Carb and our Cookies, whey is complemented with the slow-digesting micellar casein and moderate-digesting milk protein. Our Bars contain pea and rice proteins, which are considered more moderate-digesting proteins as well. All in all, the goal is to provide you with sustained nutrition for several hours while taking advantage of whey while mitigating any potential disadvantages.

I hope that this is helpful, Kim. Please feel free to contact me directly if you have any additional questions. I'm here to help and happy to do so.

My best,

Tim

Endless videos and impossible to unsubscribe

By Mia, Barcelona, Spain, Verified Reviewer

I bought the protein powder from BioTrust, and the taste is ok but way too sweet (the taste of Stevia is overwhelming).

I bought ONE package and clearly stated I only wanted it ONCE, but after a month I found they had billed me for a second one. I contacted them via email, and they handled it well; they refunded me quickly and the extra package I had received I got to keep. So far so good.

After that, I've gotten email after email with endless sales videos and other information I do not want. I've tried, time and again, to unsubscribe, but they kept coming. I emailed them and told them to take my name off their lists and stop sending me emails. Still, they keep coming. I ended up having to block their address to get rid of them!

Company Response from BioTRUST

Apr 14, 2017

Hi Mia,

I hope this finds you doing well. My name is Tim Skwiat, and I am a member of Team BioTrust Nutrition. I am very sorry to hear that you are anything short of completely satisfied. It's our goal to provide you with 5-star products, 5-star service, and a 5-star overall experience. Anything less than that is unacceptable to us.

Having said that, I am unable to locate any customers named Mia from Barcelona, Spain, in our system. Along those lines, would it be possible for you to please email me directly at tskwiat@biotrust.com? I would like to ensure that you are permanently unsubscribed from our email newsletter list. I would also greatly appreciate it if you could let me know how you've attempted to unsubscribe so that I can report any errors to our marketing team.

I am glad to hear that your order issues were resolved. While we do offer a money-saving Ship-N-Save program (that involves a 15 percent discount and free shipping), this is not an automatic enrollment. In other words, this option would have to be chosen during checkout by the customer. However, I'm glad to learn that this issue was handled to your satisfaction.

Please contact me at your convenience, Mia. I look forward to hearing from you, and I will do everything I possibly can to ensure that your concerns are handled to your satisfaction.

Thank you,

Tim

Why do they sell carbs?

By Robert Half, Tel Aviv, Israel, Verified Reviewer

I have learned that the fewer carbs we ingest, the better off we will be. They even state in their "Milk Chocolate" that there are "only 4g of Net Carbs Per Serving." Why should we add any health product that clearly states that it contains carbs?

Doesn't a normal person receive enough carbs from vegetables?

BioTrust, I'd appreciate hearing your thoughts about this. I have been buying and taking your BioTrust for at least one year.

False Advertising about Free Shipping

By David Rose , California

Clicked on link in an e-mail message that took me to the order site which had a free shipping offer, so I made the selection and the purchase, thinking the shipping charges would be subtracted. NOT - This is a SCAM - no free shipping. I e-mailed asking for my free shipping and they told me the offer had expired the previous month. I explained that I responded to the e-mail link the day I received it, and said I thought that was deceptive and false advertising. They did not offer to solve the problem.

BAD COMPANY! Do NOT buy from them as they do not honor their advertising offers of free shipping.

Other Ingredients

By Keith B. ,

I was quite impressed with how BioTrust stood out against other companies with similar informational spreading through e-mails and videos. The other company that I like, that makes Marine-D3, makes a really good product, that I take for work to keep my mood really high sometimes.

What I believe seems to seal the deal is these two companies' emphasis on scientifically backed peer-reviewed studies, which I actually don't see very often touted by other companies' advertisement attempts. (This science aspect seems ESPECIALLY worthy of ordering if it's relating to compounds that people are already really familiar with, like Ginkgo Biloba regarding BioTrust, and Omegas/VitaminD regarding the Marine-D3 company I alluded to earlier.)

However, I merely assumed that BioTrust's method of delivery would not include things that I do not like, considering literally everything else about their presentation lit my mind, as possibly making it even the 2nd best company that has the overall most products to choose from (QNHshop being 1st). But I got the product, looked at the other ingredients, and saw pretty much every single ingredient in the Other Ingredients section that extremely does not bode well for me. Then I fear that there will be tablets instead of capsules once I open it, and viola, they end up being tablets after I open up the bottle, and stare it down like some kind of horrific thing/contraption that could barely ever even contains any of the active ingredients. There are 12 of these monstrosities; I don't even want to name what they are, because there seems to be an aggressive campaign by some groups out there that tries to make people believe these aren't bad ingredients. Well I for one agree that a few of these specifically (or more?) could prevent proper absorption of not just the active ingredients, but build up in the intestinal walls over time and prevent absorption of anything that is ever eaten! At least there's no artificial sweeteners.

I will be trying it anyway (three bottles worth, ugh), since I want to see if I can feel the effects of the active ingredients. But I'll stop taking it if I feel any side effects from these inactive ingredients. My personal recommendation is to contact the company before buying, to see what the method of delivery is; maybe some of their products aren't tablets/overloaded with other ingredients.

Company Response from BioTRUST

May 28, 2015

Hi Keith,

I hope this finds you doing well! My name is Tim Skwiat, and I am the Director of Nutrition and Exercise with BioTRUST Nutrition.

First and foremost, on behalf of Josh, Joel, and the entire BioTRUST Team, I'd like to thank you for your recent order. You sound like you put an extraordinary amount of time and effort into your research of supplements, and we applaud you for doing so. As you cited, we do too, and if you're interesting in reviewing any of the randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled studies that we cite, please don't hesitate to let me know; I'll be happy to share them with you for your reference.

Also, I'd like to thank you for taking the time to share this well-written, well-thought-out review. I keep a close eye on independent review sites like these because, at BioTRUST, our number one goal is to ensure that our outstanding customers like yourself are completely satisfied. In fact, BioTRUST has an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau, a reflection to our commitment of excellent customer service. It's much easier to ensure customer satisfaction when the lines of communication are as strong and clear as yours. So, thank you.

Overall, we welcome all customer feedback and testimonials, and while the majority of that is positive, we accept negative criticism with open arms as well. We are committed to excellence, and who better to tell us how to improve than our loyal customers.

While you didn't mention a product specifically, I am going to assume that your review pertains to Brain Bright, as it is our only tablet formulation. Along those lines, it is my understanding that our R&D department is considering a transition to a capsule-based formula in the future.

With that being said, I'd be happy to address any of the "other ingredients" that may concern you. As you mentioned, there are folks on either side of the fence that may lead you to believe one thing or another about these ingredients.

At BioTRUST, we are a science-driven company, and all of our products, including Brain Bright, are made with natural ingredients and designed with both safety and efficacy in mind. This goes for the inclusion of Excipients as well.

All of those used are considered safe and inert, and they are included in accordance with the FDA's law that they "meet the same requirements as substances added to conventional foods." In other words, these ingredients must be used either in accordance with a food additive regulation or be considered GRAS for the intended use.

Further, each of these ingredients may be located in the Pharmaceutical Excipients handbook where extensive information, including safety data and regulatory acceptance, can be found.

With that being said, I'll be happy to make myself available to you for any additional information or questions that you may have. When it comes to optimizing your health, fitness, and vitality, we know you have many choices, and we sincerely appreciate you choosing BioTRUST. I want you to know that we're here for you every step of the way, and if there's anything that I can do to guide or support you, please don't hesitate to let me know. I can be reached by e-mail at tskwiat@BioTRUST.com.

Thank you, Keith!

Sincerely,

Tim Skwiat

Products promise more than they deliver, overpriced

By Keri Anderson , Salt Lake City, UT

The reason I am giving this company a poor - average rating is that I have had both positive and negative experiences with them. First, I'll start with the positive.

I think they are on the right track to provide quality products made from quality ingredients. So many of the supposed 'health' food supplements are loaded with garbage - high fructose corn syrup, etc. This company strives to keep their ingredients whole and clean, and I really appreciate that. I like the taste of their protein powder and their protein bars well enough, and have learned to attribute the *slightly* better taste to other companies' powders to the extra sugar and crap they put in it. I'm much happier with quality ingredients that will actually improve my health.

I have always received every order in a timely fashion.

Now the cons: I find their advertising tactics beyond annoying. Instead of a trustworthy, on the up-and-up company, they come across as a used-car dealership. I appreciate companies that just deal with me in a straight-forward way, instead of constantly trying to ad things to my order on the sly ("Ok, now that you have already purchased our product for the most fabulous price we have to offer, after checkout we'll tell you what the real best price is so you have to buy more. And, we'll tell you about all these other products you just have to purchase right now or never see this wonderful price point again" geez).

On the point of advertising, BioTrust floods the web with their own reviews (often just advertisements in disguise). You are hard-pressed to find a 'real' review from a 'real' consumer anywhere.

Their products are too expensive. The jars are already smaller than most other protein powders, and when you open it, it is only half-full. I expect to pay a bit more for better quality, but this company is charging more than they need to, just because they can. I hope they come down in price.

And the biggest con that prompted me to write this review: I have found that many of their product promise way more than they can deliver, especially those that come in pill form. I tried the Leptiburn, hoping that it would help me lose weight. I started out with the dose recommended, only to find that I felt I had overdosed on caffeine (I had the jitters, was unable to focus, and my sleep became a bit erratic).

Further, I found that if I didn't closely monitor my food intake like I would if I were just going on a diet without the pills, Leptiburn made no difference in weight loss. Their claim is that you can lose weight without changing your diet, not my experience. If these pills help with metabolism at all, the difference is so minuscule that it isn't worth the hefty price tag. Won't be purchasing these again. I didn't attempt to take them up on their money-back guarantee. Just too much hassle, which I suppose is exactly what they are counting on.

I have also tried their pro-biotic supplement, because I like the idea behind taking probiotics. Since I have started these, I have had non-stop gastro-intestinal issues. At first I chalked it up to "just needing to cleanse", but after almost two months, it hasn't stopped. Guess I need to re-think taking these as well. I also haven't seen any noticeable improvement in my health in any other area.

Bottom line: Buyer beware. They have some quality products, but if you think they are some kind of miracle cure, they aren't. You have to plan on changing bad habits and better food intake, because these pills can't compensate for poor diet decisions. I guess it is up to each buyer to decide which products are worth their hefty prices, and which aren't. As for me, I'm just sticking to their protein powders and protein bars, and certainly waiting for their 20% off coupons before I buy.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Company Response from BioTRUST

Hi Keri,

I hope this finds you doing well and in great health! My name is Tim Skwiat, and I am the Director of Nutrition and Exercise with BioTRUST Nutrition.

I'd like to thank you for taking the time to share this well-written, well-thought-out review. At BioTRUST, our number one goal is to ensure that our outstanding customers like yourself are completely satisfied.

If you don’t mind, I’d like to take a moment to speak to your concerns, and I also want to make sure to make myself available to you for any additional questions or concerns that you may have. With regard to our advertising, we appreciate your feedback, and we will be certain to pass it along to our Marketing team, which does extensive testing to find the most customer-friendly methods to deliver high-quality information about our products.

If you’re not particularly fond of watching the educational videos that we’ve prepared, I invite you to simply visit BioTRUST.com to learn more about our products. There, you can learn about our entire line of premium products made with natural ingredients. You can view the Supplement Facts, ingredients, and recommended use, and you can also read about the products (including all of the supporting research studies) at your own pace.

With regard to the package options presented during the checkout process, we share these as a courtesy to our customers. For instance, many customers may not know about our entire line of products, and these suggestions during the checkout process provide them with additional options that other customers who have made similar purchases have also chosen. As noted, these are often provided at a special discounted rate as a reflection of our gratitude toward our loyal customers.

BioTRUST supplements are premium products made with natural ingredients. We only use the best ingredients, in the most effective forms, at optimal levels (i.e., amounts proven efficacious in research studies), packaged in the most efficient delivery systems to create products that are better than anything else on the market from a quality, safety, and effectiveness standpoint.

Yes, this is reflected in the price tag, but we do offer a number of ways in which customers can take advantage of significant savings. For instance, we offer discounted bundles, monthly ship-and-save (with discounts and free shipping), and regular coupons (as you mentioned) through electronic and regular mail as well as social media outlets.

Ultimately, we are committed to customer satisfaction—and your results. In addition to our products, we have a number of free resources available to ensure our customers’ success, including our free BioTRUST Community and Coaching Forums, our daily newsletter, and over a dozen free eBooks.

As far as the reviews that you see online, these are not paid advertisements. BioTRUST has many affiliates who promote our products to their subscribers because they themselves use them, believe in them, and recommend them. Further, there are numerous independents websites online where you can view customer testimonials. There are two verified review sites (including this one) on which BioTRUST has a 4-star (out of 5 stars) rating. What’s more, you are more than welcome to visit out Online Community to interact with other real customers like yourself.

With regard to LeptiBURN, I am very sorry to learn about your experience. There is a warning on the label that states, “Do not take with any product containing caffeine or any ingredients with a known stimulant effect.” With that being said, we take adverse event reporting like this incredibly seriously, and along those lines, I’d like to make sure that I collect some additional information from you about your experience.

At BioTRUST, we believe in a lifestyle approach to optimizing health, body composition, and vitality. Such an approach involves good nutrition and health eating habits, regular physical activity, better sleep quality, adequate hydration, and proper stress management. Supplements, which should be selected on an individual basis based on goals and a needs analysis (and we have expert coaches available to help with this), are meant to be an addition. In other words, our scientifically-backed supplements are designed to make a good plan markedly more effective and efficient.

For instance, in a double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled study, healthy, overweight participants received 300mg of IGOB131 (the exact same Irvingia gabonensis extract and exact same amount found in two daily servings of LeptiBURN) or a placebo for 8 week. After just 4 weeks, the folks taking the supplement lost, on average, over 8 pounds, and after 8 weeks, they had lost an average of 16 pounds, which was over 5 times the amount of the placebo group.

Another example is Metabo379. The safety and efficacy of its primary ingredients have been demonstrated in two randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled human studies. Folks who supplemented with SIGMALean (the primary ingredient in Metabo379) for 8 weeks (combined with a modest reduced-calorie diet and moderate physical activity) lost, on average, nearly 4 times more weight than the placebo group (i.e., diet and exercise alone). If that’s not impressive enough, the folks taking SIGMALean lost over twice as many inches from their waist and hips, significantly improved quality of life, boosted confidence, and optimized health (i.e., decreased cholesterol, triglycerides, blood sugar).

With regard to Pro-X10, I’d be interested to learn more about your experiences. In many cases, your initial intuition is on point. In other words, what you noticed may be attributable to a favorable conversion of the gut microbiota. One of the primary tasks of good bacteria is to damage or kill pathogenic bacteria, something that is done by secreting chemicals, changing the pH of the environment, or simply crowding them out.

In other words, there’s a constant life and death struggle between good and bad bacteria, and the bad guys don’t always go quietly. Many experts suggest that temporary reactions such as minor bloating or a mild laxative or constipating effect are signs that the beneficial bacteria are remodeling, detoxifying, and improving the gut environment. There are a number of things that one can do to help in a situation like this: decrease (or, in some cases, increase) the amount taken; make sure you’re taking probiotics with food; add digestive enzymes; stay hydrated (i.e., drink plenty of water); and give it some time (which it sounds like you did do).

With that being said, it may also be important to look into any potential food sensitivities. In certain instances, some folks may experience gastrointestinal issues due to prebiotics (e.g., Actazin), which serve a very valuable function acting as “food” for the probiotics and helping them proliferate. These prebiotics are often soluble fibers may result in digestive symptoms in some people.

With regard to our refund and exchange policy, all of our customers are protected by our one-year money-back guarantee, and details about the policy can be found on our website. Because we value you as a customer, we have provided you with a full refund. In the future, if you would like a refund or need to exchange for another product, please don’t hesitate to contact our Customer Service department. We stand by our policy 100%.

All of the being said, we’re here for you, and we’re committed to your success. Please let us know how we may be of additional assistance, and you are more than welcome to contact me directly at tskwiat@BioTRUST.com at any time. I'm here to help and happy to do so.

Hi Cindi,

I hope this finds you doing well! My name is Tim Skwiat, and I am the Director of Nutrition and Exercise with BioTRUST Nutrition.

Generally speaking, we do advise folks take our products as recommended for at least 60 days to full assess their effectiveness. While studies on many of the individual ingredients have been shown in human clinical trials to yield significant results in less time, the research generally suggests more profound health, weight management, and wellbeing benefits with more prolonged, consistent use (e.g., 8 – 12 weeks). Along those lines, one thing that also bears consideration is how progress is being measured (e.g., body composition, waist/hip circumference, food journals, etc.).

With that being said, I know that you chose BioTRUST for a reason, Cindi, and at BioTRUST, our ultimate goal is to help you achieve yours. With that in mind, I’d like to extend my personal coaching services to you completely free of charge. I’d like to get to know you better, and I’d like to learn more about your goals. In other words, I want to better understand where you are now and where you want to be.

100% Money Back Guarantee = 100% Lie

By Wendy Shinsky, TX, Verified Reviewer

Just this last weekend I ordered some products from this company (sold on what I was thinking was a Reputable and Honest Company).

First - the 100 % money back guarantee is 100% crap.

Second - The buyer does NOT get the opportunity to review the order before it is charged to your account. If customer service is unavailable (not in business hours when I ordered) your only recourse is to email them. I noticed an incorrect item was added on my order when the confirmation page showed after I was charged and I literally called and emailed them with 5 minutes of placing the order, asking that they remove the product and refund the amount of the product onto my card.

Third - they are quick to reply, which was nice. However, they answer by stating that they ship through a 3rd party company and cannot cancel or change and order once placed.

Fourth - The options offered for compensation are not A 100% refund.

These were the choices given, which to Biotrust constitute a 100% Money Back Guarantee:

1. Either an immediate 25% credit of your total order can be credited back to your card. (So why can't the full amount be credited back?)

2. A 50% credit of the total order amount to your account with them that can be used for future product purchases (i.e. if the bill was $120, they would credit you $60).

3. An exchange of products for up to the amount of the product incorrectly added to the order. (This is the option I chose as I am praying the products are better than their customer service and still want to try the products.)

None of this actually gave me what I or 99% of America would consider a 100% money back guarantee.

I sent an email response to customer service to let them know how unhappy I was and how DISHONEST this made Biotrust look and how leery this made me of Biotrust - all before I have even received a product. Again I did quickly receive an email from them stating they were sorry for the confusion. It stated that the Shipping was from a 3rd party company and unable to be changed or canceled and they confirmed they would be resending the product I wanted. From the details in their email, they also made it sound like it was supposed to be a great convenience to me, that they were not going to charge me another shipping fee and from the wording made it sound as if I would normally have to PAY A RETURN SHIPPING CHARGE for any items actually returned to the company.

So far, they seem very unethical and dishonest in their practices.

I will update my review on the actual products after I get them and have the chance to use them.

Lastly, You will get what seems like a million and one emails from them once you order something. The nice little books they show and will "send" you are NOT actual hard copy type books, they are ebooks you have to download. So if you prefer hard copied books or don't have a printer you’re just out of luck.

So far I a very unimpressed with Biotrust.

So beware when ordering. Be extremely careful as they are very good at the upsale of products and not making things clear and it is easy (which works to their monetary advantage) to mess up your order and not know till after your money is basically stolen (in my opinion).

I will state now, that I will be leaving this review on other sites as well to warn the masses before they get ripped off by the billing and selling practices of Biotrust. I am a real consumer and not a bot. I am on Facebook and you can find me by name and message me if you have any other questions.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Hi Wendy,

I hope this finds you in the best of spirits, and I hope that you have enjoyed a nice week. My name is Tim Skwiat, and I am the Director of Nutrition and Exercise with BioTrust Nutrition, as well as a member of the BioTrust Science Team and Fitness Team. I’m reaching out to you today because I received notification from this website that your review was just published today (May 6). [Note: I initially submitted my response on Friday, May 6.]

I am remiss to read your review, and I’m terribly sorry to learn of your disappointment. My hope is that you allow me the opportunity to do everything I can to take care of you and ensure a completely positive all-around experience.

Before proceeding, I do want thank you and commend you on leaving such an elaborate review of your experiences. We graciously accept customer feedback with open arms, and while the majority of that is positive, we invite constructive criticism as well. After all, who better to tell us how we can improve than our customers. Our goal is to provide you not only with the highest quality, most efficacious products but also world-class customer service.

To speak to the theme of your review (i.e., money-back guarantee), we most certainly stand behind our products 100 percent, and your satisfaction is guaranteed. If you are unhappy with the products, we will promptly and cheerfully issue you a refund even on empty bottles. You can find the details of our return/exchange policy on our website; simply select the Return/Exchange Policy link from the bottom of any page on our site.

As noted there, in order to get said refund, we do require that empty and unused bottles be returned within 1 year accompanied by a return merchandise authorization number, RMA, which will allows our distribution center to associate the returned package with your account. If you decide to return the products immediately after receiving your order, you are more than welcome to do so. Just give our customer service team a call or e-mail, and one of our customer care specialists will cheerfully assist you.

That said, we know that you came to BioTrust for a reason, and I do hope that you allow us and our products the privilege of accompanying you on your journey to improved health and fitness. After all, you are protected by the one-year money back guarantee, and we will refund even empty bottles; so, it’s worth giving the scientifically-backed products a shot. I would consider it an honor to provide you guidance, support, accountability, and encouragement as you progress toward your goals. Please feel free to contact me directly at tskwiat@biotrust.com at your convenience.

Speaking to your concern about the e-mails, I’m very sorry to hear that you don’t find our daily health and nutrition tips to be beneficial to you. The overwhelming majority of our customers look forward to reading our newsletters, learning about the most recent research, and gathering advice on how they can improve their health and fitness. If you would like to unsubscribe, however, you are more than welcome to do so at any time. You can do so by accessing our Support portal on our website, or you can simply scroll to the bottom of any e-mail newsletter and select Manage Email Subscriptions to your preference.

With regard to our free reports, I’m sorry to learn about your disappointment. We spend an enormous amount of time and resources in creating these free resources for our customers. We do provide them in electronic format (i.e., eBook), as our customers have informed us that this is their preferred format. This also allows us to provide our customers with the information sooner, and it also allows us the opportunity to create more of these valuable resources faster.

With all of that being said, Wendy, I invite you to contact me at your convenience. We’re here for you, and our ultimate goal is to help you achieve yours. I look forward to the opportunity to make this right for you and turn your 2-star review into a 5-star experience!

My best,

Coach Tim

BioTrust

By P Connell, Seminole, FL, Verified Reviewer

I have been flooded with emails and have tried to unsubscribe but keep getting new screens. The first said I could limit the number of emails but I wanted no more so I tried again.

Then I received an offer for a free product. On that screen, there was no further contact information and no option to unsubscribe. I have talked with their customer service on other things and they always try to upsell rather than handle my question.

There are many excellent products on the market with better customer service and less influx of email. I prefer to work with them.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Unhappy with their customer service and flexibility.

By Marion Hounsome, Canterbury, New Zealand, Verified Reviewer

Leptiburn had done nothing for me, so I talked to them (via email) about returning it and being sent some Metabo 360 to try instead.

I thought I should return the Leptiburn that I hadn't used, but they did not have a visible address for returns, so I went on the Internet and found the address (in large, bold print) for them in Austin, Texas. It turns out that it's the wrong address, and they insist on refunding my money (goodness know how long that's going to take to show up in my account) and didn't want the stuff returning (which I had done with all good intentions, for $NZ 45), and said I had to physically order something else I wanted from their website.

I feel that they could "think outside the box" a bit more!

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Company Response from BioTRUST

Hi Marion,

I hope this finds you doing well. My name is Tim Skwiat, and I am responding on behalf of BioTrust Nutrition. First off, I am very sorry to hear that you are not completely satisfied, and I want you to know that we'll do everything we possibly can to take care of you.

As far as returning products (either empty or unused bottles), we ask that you contact our Customer Service Department directly so that we can provide you with a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number. This allows us to track where returns are coming from and to provide the appropriate refund.

Our headquarters are indeed in Austin, Texas, and that's why you see that address on our website. However, our distribution center is in Colorado, and that's where we ask that returned products are shipped. Our Customer Service Department provides the address along with the RMA number and directions for return.

Having said all that, in reviewing the notes associated with your order, I see that we provided you a full refund ($528 USD) for your order. Our one-year satisfaction guarantee entitles customers to either an exchange or refund. Since you received a refund, we are not able to also provide an exchange. I believe this is why Customer Service suggested that you order from the website.

That said, I will request that Customer Service sends you two complimentary bottles of Metabo379 for any trouble that you experienced. We value you as a customer, and we want to do everything we can to ensure that you're taken care of. Please feel free to contact me directly at tskwiat@biotrust.com if you have any additional questions or concerns.

My best,

Tim

Bad aftertaste

By Julie King, Missouri, Verified Reviewer

I paid shipping to get a trial size sample of the Vanilla Cream Low Carb protein blend. The taste was overwhelmingly a fake sweetener taste, which I don't understand knowing the ingredients. Sorry, but although the product looks very good and useful to me, I can't get over the taste.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Company Response from BioTRUST

Nov 17, 2017

Hi Julie,

I hope this finds you doing well. My name is Tim Skwiat, and I am with BioTrust Nutrition. I'm remiss to read your review. While we conduct extensive testing to ensure that BioTrust Low Carb BioTrust Low Carb (which contains no artificial sweeteners and instead is sweetened naturally with stevia, inulin, and Swerve) is the best-tasting protein available on the market today. We understand that individual taste preferences vary significantly.

And while the majority of our customers are head over heels about the flavor of BioTrust Low Carb, we appreciate that not everyone will agree. That's precisely why we stand behind all our products with our 1-year money back guarantee. Along those lines, I have requested that our Customer Service team refund you for the $4.95 that you paid in shipping.

Having said all that Julie, I want to reassure you that your feedback is very valuable to us, and I will gladly pass it along to our R&D team for consideration. We're in the business that is constantly improving, and who better to tell us how we can do that than our trusty customers. With that being said Julie, I would be curious to hear which flavor you tried and how you prepared your BioTrust Low Carb. At your convenience, could you please email me at tskwiat@biotrust.com? I would also like to offer you a complimentary bottle of another flavor to see if you have the same experience. I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

Tim

Misleading promotional sign-up offer.

By Andy, Los Angeles, CA, Verified Reviewer

If you do their promotion, they sneakily sign you up for automatic shipments. I signed up for the promo looking out for any language about having to sign up for auto ship, thinking that was their scam. I didn't read anything and thought I'd give it a try because Lewis Howes was promoting this company and I found him credible.

They did automatically enroll me in an auto-ship and sent me an order and charged me for it. I emailed them, and a support rep got back to me very quickly, which I appreciated. I'm not satisfied with their refund offer, but I blame myself for not following my instinct, and if something sounds too good to be true, it is.

The product is of acceptable quality but not worth the price.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Company Response from BioTRUST

Feb 5, 2018

Hi Andy,

My name is Tim Skwiat, and I am the Director of Scientific Affairs with BioTrust. My teammates and I keep tabs on review sites like HighYa in an effort to provide our customers with world-class service and an overall positive experience. Along those lines, I'm very disappointed to learn that you experienced anything less.

Having said that, I do want to clarify that while we do offer a money-saving monthly subscription option for our products (20 percent off and free shipping), our customers are not obligated to choose that program. That is an option that can be selected or declined during the checkout process. Along those lines, I'm sorry that you accidentally enrolled in the program and had to go through the trouble of deactivating your subscription. I will, of course, pass along your complaint to our marketing team for review.

I have confirmed with our customer service department that you have been issued a partial refund for the first container that you were sent, which you, of course, are welcome to keep. Along those lines, I'd be curious to get your feedback on what you think of the product.

Please accept our most sincere apologies, Andy, and please let us know what else we can do to make this right for you and earn your trust as a BioTrust customer. You are more than welcome to contact me directly at tskwiat@biotrust.com.

Thank you,

Tim

Decent product, customer-unfriendly company

By Susan, Charleston, SC, Verified Reviewer

I like the fact that the shake is low carb and isn't too sweet. It also seems to help with cravings and the taste is decent.

The two-star rating refers to the company and how they treat their customers.

1. They constantly email "free" shake offers. The last time I tried to take advantage of the "free" shake, I was told I wasn't eligible. Fine, no harm, no foul. EXCEPT that they charged me $4.95. When I called the company, they said they had NO RECORD of the charge. My bank account begged to differ. I had to call my bank to get the charge reversed because I would not be receiving a product since the company didn't acknowledge the charge.

2. They bill early. If you have an auto ship, you will get billed at least a week earlier than your recurring subscription date.

3. The emails are ENDLESS and are basically "click bait." It doesn't matter if you unsubscribe.

4. You can't cancel the auto ship on the website. You have to CALL to cancel.

I'm sick and tired of companies who say they're all about the customer but then prove the lie by enacting customer-unfriendly policies. So what I can send back a shake after a year. Big deal. That generous return policy is meaningless when:

- You take my money and have no record of doing it.

- You bill me a week ahead of my shipment date.

- I'm constantly deleting your spam.

- I have to run the customer service gauntlet just to cancel.

I would recommend this product with a caveat; the shake is decent. Only get the auto-ship if cost is a factor and you don't mind being charged a week early. Chances are you will never have a problem, however, if a problem arises, expect a long, difficult, and annoying road to resolution.

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Company Response from BioTRUST

Feb 15, 2018

Hi Susan,

I hope this finds you doing well. My name is Tim Skwiat, and I am with BioTrust Nutrition. I am deeply disheartened to read your review and to find out you're anything less than perfectly satisfied. Having said that, we sincerely appreciate you taking the time to provide your feedback. It's our goal to provide our customers with world-class customer service and an overall positive experience, and we know that there's no one who can better tell us how we can improve than our valuable customers.

I'd like to take a moment to speak to your concerns. I do want to note that given the limited information you've provided (e.g., only a first name and city of residence), I'm not able to locate your customer profile or order history. However, if you would be so kind as to email me directly at tskwiat@biotrust.com, I assure you that we will look into everything as thoroughly as possible.

1. With regard to the offer you mentioned, we do send customers a free sample-size container of our protein. We only ask that customers help by paying the cost of shipping and handling, which was $4.95 in this case. While we advertise free protein, we make every effort to make the shipping charge very clear (e.g., "Just pay shipping.") What disturbs me, however, is that you said that a representative from BioTrust told you there was no such record of the charge. I would very much like to look into this further. If you could please contact me at your convenience with your order number, I will absolutely do so.

2. For folks who sign up for our monthly subscription, we charge their account when the order is processed, which occurs immediately prior to the order being shipped (just like if you placed an order via Amazon).

3. This is an excellent point, Susan, and we are in the process of refining how we communicate with our customers. While many of our customers appreciate the frequent emails with money-saving coupons and valuable information (e.g., podcasts, blog articles), we are listening to our customers like yourself who are requesting fewer email communications. Expect changes to this in the very near future.

4. We are also diligently working on our online customer portal. While we try making canceling or changing your subscription easy by calling our customer service, we understand the demand for an online interface where you can make adjustments without calling. It seems like it would be a simple implementation, it turns out that it's quite a time and labor-intensive. However, it's something that we're working on at the moment and anticipate rolling out to customers soon.

Having said all that, I reiterate my apologies for any frustration that you experienced. Please know that your feedback is valuable to us, and we're working tirelessly to make improvements to meet the evolving demands of our customers. Please also contact me directly at your earliest convenience. I not only want to make sure that you're completely taken care of, I'd like to send you a free product for taking the time to share your feedback and letting us know how we can better serve our customers such as yourself.

My best,

Tim

Product review

By Nadezhda Z., New York City, NY, Verified Reviewer

BioTrust products advertise products using dozens of emails. Most of the information is not trusted as BioTrust products; they do NOT have working emails and the website products are promotional. BioTrust did not provide certification of quality and safety for product ingredients as other health product vendors. Be ready to pay extra charges for BioTrust products if you return it. No recommendation from me if there is NO trust for BioTrust products.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Company Response from BioTRUST

Aug 31, 2018

Hi Nadezhda,

I hope this finds you in the best of health. My name is Tim Skwiat, and I am a member of the BioTrust Team. I am saddened and disappointed to read your review and to learn that you are any less than completely satisfied and that we fell short of your expectations.

If you were so kind to allow me the opportunity, I would like to do whatever I can to make this right for you. For starters, could you please let me know how you attempted to contact us by email? Our customer service team takes pride in responding to every email that's received, and if there is an issue with one of our email addresses, we would greatly appreciate you helping us identify that so we can take the steps necessary to address the problem.

As far as our email communications, that is currently our means for direct communication with our customers. Along those lines, we do offer a variety of subscription options so that customers can customize their communication experiences. Having said that, we are always open to customer feedback so that we can improve the customer journey, and with that in mind, if you have any recommendations on how we can improve our communication, I invite you to share with me at tskwiat@biotrust.com

As far as product documentation (i.e., quality and safety), we gladly provide product documentation upon request. Is there something specific that you are looking for? If so, I will happily send you verification of product quality, purity, potency, and safety. Please email me at tskwiat@biotrust.com.

As far as our money-back guarantee, the details of our return and exchange policy are published on our website. Unfortunately, I cannot provide a refund for any return expenses. However, I will gladly send you a complimentary product of your choice.

Please feel free to contact me directly at tskwiat@biotrust.com at your convenience, Nadezhda. I greatly appreciate your consideration in allowing us to earn your trust as a customer. I assure you that I will do everything I can personally to make things right for you.

Sincerely,

Tim Skwiat

BioTrust advanced waist slimming fatty acid complex

By Tom B., Cecil, WI, Verified Reviewer

I ordered this supply in 2014 and now cleaned out my cupboard.

I didn't finish all the meds in my order since I did not note any change in weight loss regimen even though I followed instructions. I'm not saying the claims made are not accurate, just saying product expense vs. outcome was not beneficial for me.

What worked for me was/is I ate a lot less during the day (willpower needed), ate more fruit and veggies during day when needing a snack (I know pretzels taste much better), stopped eating any red meat (no more than 3 oz every two weeks) and/or processed meats and foods, and moved my body around much more as physically possible with walking more using stairs etc.

My bottom line is, if any magic weight loss pill worked, it would be approved for such by the FDA. All these online fantastic too good to be to be true weight loss cures are simply hoping and waiting for you to buy into the miracle weight loss fantasy. Don't spend your money when you can just "Eat less, eat smart, and move more." That's the easy logical route to weight loss/control.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Company Response from BioTRUST

Feb 28, 2019

Hi Tom,

I hope this finds you doing well. My name is Tim Skwiat, and I am a member of the BioTrust Team. We appreciate you taking the time to share your review, however, we are remiss to learn that your expectations weren't completely exceeded.

I deeply admire your review, and I think it's fair and helpful. To your point, we recommend using our products as part of an overall healthy lifestyle. In other words, they're not intended to be a replacement for healthy habits; rather, they're intended to complement them, fill gaps (where appropriate), and help augment outcomes.

And, generally speaking, we echo your summary that most of us would benefit from eating better (and a bit less) and moving more. As simple as that advice may be, we've found it's not complete. And that's why we provide a whole slew of free resources (such as recipes, blog articles, a podcast, and a complimentary coaching community to name a few) to meet folks where they are so that we can ultimately help them get to where they want to be.

We appreciate you allowing us the opportunity to join you on your health and wellness journey, Tom, and if there's anything we can do to help you, please don't hesitate to contact me directly at tskwiat@biotrust.com.

Keep up the good work!

My best,

Tim

You pay for their marketing

By Katrina , Chicago

I purchased one of their diet plans thinking I was getting a detailed meal plan to stimulate weight loss as described in their video. What I got was basically a 52 page advertisement in trying to sell me their protein powder and nutritional supplements. I felt like I was scammed and duped. I should have known better. I did call the toll free number and asked for a refund which I was told was provided but would take 3 days to show up on my credit card. Hopefully they will come through on their 100% money back guarantee promise.

Company Response from BioTRUST

Apr 13, 2015

Hi Tracy,

I hope this finds you doing well! My name is Tim Skwiat, and I am the Director of Nutrition and Exercise with BioTrust Nutrition. I keep a close eye on independent review sites like HighYa.com because our number one goal is to ensure that our outstanding customers like yourself are completely satisfied. In fact, BioTrust has an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau, a reflection to our commitment of excellent customer service.

With that said, I am very sorry to hear about your experience, and I want to let you know that we’ll be doing everything we possibly can to make this right for you. We welcome all customer feedback and testimonials, and while the majority of that is positive, we accept negative criticism with open arms as well. We are committed to excellence, and who better to tell us how to improve than our loyal customers.

With that being said, I do want to first confirm that we have issued a full refund (for $441) to your account on 4/9/2015. Although the refund is processed immediately on our end, it may take 3 – 5 business days for it to be reflected on your statement.

I’m also very concerned to hear that the e-mails that you sent to us were not returned. This is unacceptable, as we work very hard to respond as promptly as possible to all of our customers’ e-mails and concerns. In reviewing your case history, I have not been able to locate any e-mails prior to the date of this review (4/8/2015).

In an effort to investigate this further and to prevent anything like this from happening again, would you be so kind as to send me an e-mail with all of the e-mails that you sent to our Customer Service department? I will make sure that someone looks into this further. Please contact me directly at tskwiat@biotrust.com.

While I completely understand why you would want to return your bottles of Omega Dessert for a refund, I do want to let you know that the one-year “Best Before” date on the bottle of Omega Dessert applies specifically to the sensory characteristics (e.g., taste, consistency, mouthfeel, etc.) of the product—not the product potency or overall quality. Thus, the product does not expire at that time, as there are multiple layers of protection to prevent these beneficial fatty acids from going bad.

We only use the freshest oils on the planet, which have been 5-star rated by IFOS, with one of those stars relating to a lack of rancidity. The entire manufacturing process takes place in a nitrogen-blanketed environment (i.e., free from oxygen) and the bottle is flushed with nitrogen when the product is bottled, which ensures all oxygen is removed from the container. Furthermore, the emulsification technology, which ensures 9 times greater absorption than typical fish oil capsules, provides further stability as it protects the delicate fish oils.

With that being said, research indicates that freezing polyunsaturated oils like those found in Omega Dessert can extend the product’s shelf-life upwards of one year (or longer). If you do choose to freeze Omega Dessert, it’s important that you allow the product to thaw completely and then shake the bottle vigorously for 15 – 30 seconds prior to opening.

In addition to making sure that you were refunded in full, I have requested that Customer Service send you a complimentary bottle of OmegaKrill 5X, our capsule-based fish and krill oil combo. You should receive a confirmation e-mail within the next couple of days notifying you of the shipment. If you do not, please do not hesitate to contact me directly.

At your convenience, I request that you please respond with any additional information (about your e-mail communications), questions, or concerns that you may have. I want you to know that I’m here for you, and we are here to help and happy to do so.

Sincerely,

Tim Skwiat

Customer Complaint

By Colleen Kelly, Christchurch New Zealand, Verified Reviewer

I would like to share my experience on BioTrust with other customers/prospective customers.

To be honest my complaint is an administration one and not with the products themselves. I am not at all happy with the way charges have been administered for products purchased from BioTrust. I originally ordered products via the website which should have totalled $174USD. I contacted BioTrust immediately by e-mail because order was incorrect as all of the boxes had been ticked on the website. I was offered 2 options for product and chose Option A which I confirmed and $84 was to be credited back to my credit card. To date this has not happened. My credit card was charged as $622.92NZD. Furthermore NZ Customs charged me fees on top of this of $197.94NZD which was equated on $735USD because BioTrust had charged this as the value of the goods.

I have been trying to sort this out with BioTrust and will also need to pay NZ Customs so I can get my goods released and then try to negotiate with them over the $735USD charged (by my calculations the total should have been $510USD.

So I guess it is fair to say I am not a happy customer.

NZ Customers need to be aware of the extra charges by NZ Customs on any goods over $400NZD. It does make purchase of USA products from BioTrust very expensive. Also it is recommended that you are vigilant over the charges that are charged to your credit card from BioTrust. It seems to be a very difficult and not user friendly process to get any over charges corrected.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Company Response from BioTRUST

May 7, 2015

Hi Colleen,

I hope this finds you doing well! My name is Tim Skwiat, and I am the Director of Nutrition and Exercise with BioTRUST Nutrition. I wanted to follow up with you right away to provide you with my personal assistance:

I keep a close eye on independent review sites like these because our number one goal is to ensure that our outstanding customers like yourself are completely satisfied.

One thing that I noticed in your review is that you mentioned that you accepted an $84 refund, but that had not happened. Although refunds happen immediately on our end, it can take up to 3 – 5 business days for them to be reflected on your statement. A credit to your account for $84 was issued in our system on April 9, 2015. I've sent you an e-mail with an image of the transaction history, including a reference number for the credit to your account.

Have you happened to reach out to your credit card company about this? This concerns me, and I want to make sure that this is fully taken care of.

With regard to your concerns about customs fees (i.e., duties and taxes), I am so sorry to say that this is completely out of our control, Colleen. All International orders are subject to applicable sales tax, duties, and customs charges that are determined by your local government and vary by country.

Duties, taxes, and/or customs fees represent an additional amount collected upon delivery of orders. Order confirmation details only the amount collected by BioTRUST. By law, duties and taxes shall are based on the full retail price of the products regardless of bundled pricing or other discounts on the order.

With that being said, in reviewing your customer notes, in addition to the refund, it’s my understanding that, as a courtesy to you our valued customer, our Customer Service team has offered you an in-house credit in the amount of the customs fees that you will pay for your shipment.

As far as the ordering process, I do want to confirm that we never add any additional products or charges to an order that are not approved by a customer. In other words, only products that are selected by the customer are added to the shopping cart, and the customer must approve the order by submitting credit card information and billing and shipping details. That said, your feedback is incredibly important to us, and I invite you to share any specific feedback that you may have on how we might be able to improve this for you and other customers in the future.

Most importantly, we know that you came to us to help you achieve your health and fitness goals, and I want you to know that we will be here for you every step of the way to guide you, support you, and encourage you. In fact, you may contact me directly or visit our free Online Coaching Community (www.BioTRUSTBoard.com) to get free help from our certified nutrition and exercise experts. We’re here to help and happy to do so.

Please feel free to contact me at your earliest convenience (tskwiat@BioTRUST.com) to let me know how I can help you. Thank you, Colleen.

Sincerely,

Tim
