Great healthy lifestyle app

I have tried many different programs in order to adopt a healthier lifestyle. Noom is a really wonderful program. I love all of the interesting articles, and all of the helpful strategies. Also, having a personal coach that checks in each week is great. If you are looking for a program that provides wonderful support but is done on your own terms, this is the program for you.

One month - 10 lbs!

I loved the low key approach at the beginning with a coach to be there to answer questions. After the 2-week trial period, Noom kicked in the psychology really heavy and for about 4 days I was very overwhelmed. Now things have ironed out and they are doing a better job of going over past info to reinforce your learning. My one suggestion is that they number the articles each day so when they mention something 10 days to 2 weeks later I could go back and look up that article. I am not doing a really good job of remembering all the initials, but I am basically getting the right idea for each day's lesson. Having to think and actually write down my intent and the reason for something has definitely been different. I love the reason WHY am I doing this to give me a real reason to change my lifestyle.

I would suggest to Noom that if possible, when you list a food that it shows up green, yellow or red so I don't have to keep clicking the find the info.

I can tell that I am making small changes that I pray last a lifetime.

Progress not perfection

I love Noom. I thought I knew how to lose weight. I guess that's why I always failed in the past. What I like so much about Noom is the contact with people out there trying. It really helps me with thought distortions. I have a lot of those, with this program I reshaped my thinking. I was an all or nothing kind of person. Now I try to learn from everything. There may be slips, but that is not the end. It is a learning experience. I still have all the emotions around food that I always had, but I now know how to deal with those emotions. Oh, I also love the food journaling part of this program. The best part is the food analysis button. This really helps me keep on track.

Keeping me "positively focused!"

I am loving the convenience this program provides, as well as the nutritional knowledge, psychological knowledge, and support from both my group and my coach! My only suggestion would be to maybe break up the "servings" of information on to smaller plates (see what I did there?!). Sometimes it's too much to digest all at one time (I can't help myself!).

Noom thoughts

First of all, this program has been so well thought out and implemented in a way that is gentle and encouraging. It makes it easy to stick with it. You feel like you are understood and not the only person thinking and wrestling with all challenges your brain can come up with while trying to improve your health and lifestyle. There are plenty of obstacles in life to try to work around, Noom seems to whisk the worries and guilt away. The intuitiveness seems to keep you in check and one step ahead of our own self sabotaging way of thinking. I am surprised every day by how much they get me.

Noon works really well for me. I feel very connected and supported. I have already lost 13 pounds in a month (I know this will slow down, but it is very affirming). I am more committed to doing the work with this type of interaction.

Love it

I have completed my first month with Noom. I am very pleased with the articles, coaches, step counting, and especially the results. I am moving so much more and have tons of energy. In the first month, I lost 18 pounds. I love planning my meals and having Noom count the calories for me. I also get a big kick out of all the quirky humor incorporated into Noom. That totally works for me. Suits my personality. I have been able to share some of what I'm learning with my friends (a group of 10), and as a group, we lost over 80 pounds in January. Thanks Noom!

Excellent resource for losing weigh in a healthy way and keeping it off!

I have tried other weight loss programs like Curves and Weight Watchers. Was very successful but I have determined as the weight was creeping back that I had not dealt with the psychological aspect of eating and being healthy. Noom has helped me a great deal. That all or nothing mentality is not life. This program is such a great learning experience!

Help with getting over the health hump

So I chose Noom because it was reasonably priced and I did not have to drive anywhere to use it.

Honestly, when I started out, I thought I’ll get a little out of this, but maybe it will help me to stay on the health path. Well it sure has. Reading all the information and logging my meals kept me in contact. I fell at least one hundred times a day but I kept coming back for more. My weight was not impressively moving down but I expected that. Noom's job is to help me continue with healthy choices and not make anything off limits. I took advantage of that and started going to Dunkin’ Donuts more often than I had. I learned that my slimming body was just evilly battling with me. But once I learned, I started finding ways to plan for that devious brain of mine.

I know I am not over the hump and sometimes I don’t want to read the next lesson, but somehow you seem to introduce the right subject at the right time. It’s like you're reading my mind. I just had a great breakthrough as to why I had so much difficulty. Once you helped me figure out why, I have a plan in place. I had to confront my demons. It’s like a weight off my shoulders. Now I can move on.

Thank you Noom for helping me make a breakthrough I didn’t even know I needed. I know there are more adventures ahead and I think I got that in the form of a message I was not expecting. Now I feel brave enough to accept that challenge.

Best program ever!

I am a classic yo-yo dieter - I have lost 50-70 pounds at least 8 times on every diet known to man, and each time I have gained it all back. I know that I can follow any plan successfully - but something needed to change to make the loss sustainable and long term. Along came Noom. I’m in week four right now, I’ve lost 13 lbs, but that’s not the important part - the important part is the program's emphasis on habit and behavior change, the psych tricks and the groups. I really feel like it is helping me to change my relationship with food. The only thing I would change is the coaching - it is nice to have the feedback but I feel like it is very impersonal. It would be nice to have more frequent check-ins that weren’t so obviously going by a script.
