I’ve been officially "Nooming" for five weeks and it’s the best decision I’ve made in a really long time. I’m learning so much about myself, my relationship with food, and how to make changes that are realistic and maintainable. I have only lost about 6 pounds thus far, but I feel amazing. My energy level is the highest it’s been since I can remember, I’m sleeping better than ever, and my body feels stronger during my workouts. I’m learning to gauge my success in more ways than just the number on the scale, and it’s incredibly motivating. I’ve tried other programs and I was always so discouraged because I couldn't drop the weight fast enough. Noom has taught me to focus on a variety of ways that I’m improving, not just the number on the scale.
Having said that, there are a couple of things I’d change. The first thing is the speed at which the app updates with my Fitbit. Even when I manually update, it takes forever for the app to receive my step count and update my calorie and step goal data. The second thing is my individual coach. One of the reasons I joined Noom was because I was really excited knowing I would get one-on-one guidance. Sadly, it hasn’t been what I hoped for. My contact with my coach is not predictable, and I feel like I’m totally on my own selecting my weekly goals. There’s not much guidance...more like a human asking me what my goal is for the week. That’s pretty much it. I will say that I’m surprised at how impactful and enjoyable my group is though. Participating with group coaches and other people in the program has been extremely reassuring and motivating for me.
Overall, I would start this program again in a heartbeat. It’s easy to follow, fun, and most importantly, it works. I’m sticking around!
Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
