Loving Noom

By Liza G., Queensland, Australia, Verified Reviewer

I have been using the Noom app for just over a month and am finding it great to use. It’s helping me lose weight, be more active, take a positive approach to mealtimes and how to manage social functions as well.

The articles and information about healthy eating habits and how to make positive changes are to the point and useful. Logging food choices is easy with the bar scanner if the items not in the catalog of food options. The coaching aspect is also useful and professional.

I do wish there was a function to convert some of the recipes into gluten free ones, but otherwise, I love Noom and am really pleased with how it’s working.

A program designed to let you participate on your own schedule. The newest research is cleverly intertwined into small sessions that are interesting and enlightening. Practical advice is given. Counselors keep in touch and the program makes you laugh at yourself yet keeps teaching new ideas and techniques.

A new way to a new you

By Vicki B., Portland, OR, Verified Reviewer

I was ready for a real transformation - not just losing weight, but changing my relationship with food, exercise and my way of thinking about my health. Noom has fit my needs in a way no other program has because it is leading to systemic change through psychology, science, online social interaction, goal setting, and tremendous daily support. The tasks set for each day are relevant, support habit change and development, clarify perception, and feel practical and reinforcing of a wide variety of personal goals. And all with a sense of humor!

I’ve lost weight, but more importantly, I feel more connected to my health and well-being goals than ever before. Thank you, Noom!

LOVE this program!

By Yhadira C., Alhambra, CA, Verified Reviewer

I’ve been officially "Nooming" for five weeks and it’s the best decision I’ve made in a really long time. I’m learning so much about myself, my relationship with food, and how to make changes that are realistic and maintainable. I have only lost about 6 pounds thus far, but I feel amazing. My energy level is the highest it’s been since I can remember, I’m sleeping better than ever, and my body feels stronger during my workouts. I’m learning to gauge my success in more ways than just the number on the scale, and it’s incredibly motivating. I’ve tried other programs and I was always so discouraged because I couldn't drop the weight fast enough. Noom has taught me to focus on a variety of ways that I’m improving, not just the number on the scale.

Having said that, there are a couple of things I’d change. The first thing is the speed at which the app updates with my Fitbit. Even when I manually update, it takes forever for the app to receive my step count and update my calorie and step goal data. The second thing is my individual coach. One of the reasons I joined Noom was because I was really excited knowing I would get one-on-one guidance. Sadly, it hasn’t been what I hoped for. My contact with my coach is not predictable, and I feel like I’m totally on my own selecting my weekly goals. There’s not much guidance...more like a human asking me what my goal is for the week. That’s pretty much it. I will say that I’m surprised at how impactful and enjoyable my group is though. Participating with group coaches and other people in the program has been extremely reassuring and motivating for me.

Overall, I would start this program again in a heartbeat. It’s easy to follow, fun, and most importantly, it works. I’m sticking around!

I have not only lost weight with Noom, but lowered my cholesterol by 10 points. I completely unprocessed my diet and eat more mindfully than I ever did. I love the daily information and the support from my coach and my group. It’s been a real life changer!

Not worth the money

By CJ B., California, Verified Reviewer

Hey All, I purchased a $50 version of Noom and was charged closer to $130. At first, I was OK with it, but now I'm REALLY unsatisfied. It is basically now just a way to enter my food log. They have "articles" that are supposed to keep you motivated and teach you things...they are AWFUL! They attempt to be funny and fail miserably. Every now and then they have some useful information, but for the most part, they are useless.

My "Coach" seems like a nice person, and tells me that if I don't like the articles, I don't "have to" read them. The "Help" section on website is terrible. Isn't that where the value is? I wish I'd never heard of Noom. I need to figure out how to cancel...but like I said, help on the web site is terrible. I wish I could find an order number to put on this site, but like I said, the website is terrible. It tells me when I started and when I'll be charged again, but no info on an order number or how to cancel! UGH!

Off to a good start

By Steve R., San Angelo, TX, Verified Reviewer

I have been on Noom for five weeks now. I have an ultimate goal of 40 lbs. At my age, I may not be able to get there. I have lost 11 pounds after five weeks. I'm very happy with those results now. I also realize that this was probably the easiest 10 lbs to lose. And I know that there's an uphill road to go. I am looking forward to losing at least another 20 lbs, which would put me at an ideal weight. Help with my high blood pressure. Get me healthier.

I am impressed with the psychological part of Noom's program. While I'm not using all the psychological tools that Nooms gives you, I'm finding that the ones I'm picking and choosing are very helpful. That forces me to take on a little bit more, when I see the results. I am very impressed with the way that Nooms charts your progress add analyzes your progress. When you see that on charts and graphs, at least to me, it's very very helpful.

If you're considering starting a diet program, I would certainly suggest this program to anybody that is really serious about losing weight and keeping it off. That is the most important thing that I want a diet program to do, and that's to help me keep the weight off. Noom, I believe, is doing that. You are assigned a coach that keeps and good contact with you to help you in any phase of the program. My coach is actually doing a much better job for me than I could have done by myself. I am thankful for her.

Caught my attention!

By Joy A., Nevada, Verified Reviewer

Noom talks about you, not food. Noom says it's okay to be human and stop beating yourself up. Science and head doctors, sorry Noom Nerds, I can joke too, teach you how to cope with changing your life rather than thinking you are going on another worthless diet. Their approach is fresh and you can easily accept accountability by logging your daily weight, and your meals into your phone. Don't cheat what you eat because it's okay. You can fix it tomorrow. I love Noom, and my coach Josephine is the best! She gets me! Start today! Give up one thing! POUNDS! I have lost 14 pounds so far! I hope to see you join us!

Not perfect, but I have had good results so far

By Tina B., Arkansas, Verified Reviewer

The app itself has had some glitches, which took a couple of days to resolve, and the information isn't really anything you can't find elsewhere, but the process of going through the daily tasks has really helped me stay on track and my results have been significantly better since using the app, than they were before using it.

I do wish there was more information on the website and that you could start and stop subscriptions without having to go through the Noom coach and that they were more generous with the refund policy.

However, I'm pleased with the program itself so far.

Enjoying Noom

By Linda S., Los Angeles, CA, Verified Reviewer

I have been using Noom for six weeks. I’ve lost about 6 pounds (the holidays caused a two-pound increase, but that’s okay).

I’ve really enjoyed the Noom articles and my interaction with my Noom Goal Coach. The group messaging is a bit much for me, so I don’t really use that feature. I prefer the 1:1 communication with the goal coach.

I enjoy logging what I eat. It keeps me present, and I’ve minimized mindless eating. One thing I’ve noticed is there aren’t a lot of West Coast brands in the database. I have to guesstimate a lot of my calories. I wish there were smaller chain healthy restaurant menu items in the app so I don’t have to guess.

Otherwise, I’m super happy and expect to hit my goal weight by mid-March!

Noom is great

By Shelley P., Philadelphia, PA, Verified Reviewer

Hey there,

I became interested in Noom because I am an inquiring type of person. The fact that Noom didn’t present itself wrapped in a lot of surface visual glamour and spoke to resetting the way I approach eating and living my life appealed to me.

Since being apart of the program, I respond to the way the team approaches me with lightness and humor, they help me when I have reached out and keep each day interesting. Somehow they are able to really get me to feel better about me.

Thanks so much Noom.
