After ruining my teeth they are offering me 40% of my purchase back, pending I sign some sort of agreement that I don't tell people how terrible they are online or pursue further action to receive compensation. This service DOES NOT work for everyone, if you are worried that it can't straighten your teeth, don't even try to contact them.

SDC is experiencing production/severe customer service problems

SDC is currently experiencing production bagging and quality problems per customer service supervisor. Finished one month only as aligners for month 2 had uppers for me and lowers for another customer. Customer Service has refunded $100, promised 1 set of retainers free of charge, and now 2 sets of retainers free of charge, for a total of 3 sets free for my delayed treatment! Still correct aligners have not been shipped in over 2 months. I should be on month 4 aligners but have never received them. SDC is continuing to ship aligners to new customers but refuses to take care of existing customers. The last info from customer service is they might be able to expedite the correct aligners by the end of October, maybe, but they can't guarantee that date and to just keep wearing the last correct aligner! That aligner is almost worn thin! If you haven't entered treatment, wait and see where all of this is going!

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Stay away

The first months were great. My teeth shifted to an almost perfect position. Then they stopped sending the product. The aligners I had cracked and were no longer usable. I've been waiting three months and they keep telling me "they're coming".

I am going to stop paying until I get them.

DO NOT use this company.

So disappointed

I am so disappointed in this company. I purchased the starter kit using my debit card. When I was sent the impression kit, I filled out the payment plan card. I was given the option to pay with a different card or the card on file. I chose to pay with a different card and put in all of the information to have that card charged. I check my bank account and $1795 was taken out of my checking account instead of the credit card I had provided the information to have charged. I can’t afford to have the full amount taken out of my checking account, that’s why I asked that it was taken from another card.

I call immediately and ask to have it refunded and taken from the other card provided. I was told it would be refunded in 7-10 business days. I don’t have 7-10 business days to have $1795 missing from my account. They offered to discount $100 off of my total for the mishap. $100, as if that would even begin to cover the potential overdraft fees. I had them just cancel my order altogether. I called back and spoke to someone else who offered me free retainers on top of the $100 off in order to keep my service. No thanks. He then said that he would leave a call back message for an account manager so that I may discuss having my money expedited...but the catch...I would have to wait 3-5 business days for a call back.

I’m fuming! I don’t have near $1800 to just have out of my account while they figure out when to send me my refund. They don’t care to keep you as a customer or the fact that you’re potentially having to pay fees for their mishap. I definitely would not recommend this company to anyone! If a company can do this before I even receive my aligners, I’m going to guess it doesn’t get any better per other reviews.

They sent the correct aligners after 2 months and 8 phone calls and chats and numerous promises that were not kept. Although I received the new aligner the bottom one doesn't fit. The top one is perfect, but the bottom is correct. I can wear Month 5 week 2, but Month 5 3/4 week is not right. I tried on Month 6 Week 1 and I can get that one on, but not the one they sent me. I've called to let them know. I hope it won't take another 2 months! I should have been finished with this program by now!

Absolute disappointment

I received my aligners, after wearing them for two days I cleaned them with warm water and they melted...I had to wait a month to get started again with a new set of aligners, it sounds like it was my fault (even though that's what they recommend for cleaning the aligners). After a month, I finally receive the new set and start again, month 2 week 3, I went to switch to my new set, and they were completely off, they did not fit my teeth, they were huge. I had to go in for a scan again where the manager treated me horribly, and told me that unfortunately, it will take 4-6 weeks for my replacements to arrive "SINCE THEY GET A LOT OF ORDERS" (Who cares? That was not my mistake.). I called customer service several times and they told me they were going to expedite my process and that I was going to get my new aligners, after 9 weeks and plenty of frustrating calls to customer service where they could not solve this problem because they tell you they have a lot of orders coming in and that their doing their best, I receive my new aligners. I was supposed to get 9 aligners and they only sent me 6 which means I will have to wait another month and a half for the rest of my treatment to arrive...I am tired and looking for solutions to try to cancel my membership. Any suggestions? They are telling me that there was a laboratory error that they will send me my 3 pending aligners in an expedited shipment, but everyone knows how the story continues.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

Reimbursed if you have orthodontic benefits - FALSE STATEMENT

When I went to SmileDirect in the first place, I told them that I will only sign on to the treatment if my insurance company covers the procedure. She assured me that yes, if I have orthodontics coverage then it will be covered. EVEN to the point that she said "insurance companies like to see monthly charges" (the monthly payment plan was actually $200 MORE expensive than just paying for the full fee upfront, approx. $2200). Now I am paying out of my pocket, so WHY couldn’t I have just paid for the whole procedure up front to save money! Since JULY, I have been arguing with SUNLIFE and SmileDirect. This is very exhausting and time-consuming! Now I understand that there is NO coverage from insurance companies for TELEDENTIST. I think SmileDirect should reduce my charges for their services because they NEVER sent an estimate to my insurance provider from the start; they were only concerned with getting the SALE.

With regards to the procedure, I am half way completed, and my teeth are not aligning correctly when chewing on back teeth.

Don’t waste your money!

This company is a joke. The worst customer service I’ve ever received by far. The first set of aligners they sent me only fit for about four or five sets. I had to get a reevaluation. I’ve been waiting on my reevaluation aligners for over 2 and 1/2 months. Every time I call for an update the only thing I’m told is a few days. Do not waste your money.

Terrible service, not aligned yet in 9 weeks!

They say 3-4 weeks for your aligners, it’s been over 9 weeks and still nothing. When you call they have no idea when they will arrive! They were quick to take my money but I still have no idea if the aligners will ever arrive! No communication whatsoever.

Horrific customer service

I have only had my aligners for a week, so no idea if they are going to be effective or not. I will say they fit my teeth perfectly, which I was pretty impressed with. However, their customer service is atrocious. I knew I could not wear aligners for 22 hours a day, so had held off on getting aligners. But when they came out with the nighttime plan, I was sold. I went into a store to have a scan done and the lady there told me that the aligners are actually the same - the only difference is how long you have to wear them. I ordered the nighttime version, but when they arrived, the instructions were clearly for 22 hours/day wear. I immediately contacted their so-called customer service and was very snippily told that since I was "in treatment" I "would wear the daytime aligners" and she refused to give me the timing instructions to wear them nighttime only. I emailed back and still, a week later, have not had a response. Joan P and Jefferson R also refused to send me a copy of the invoice, so I could submit it to my FSA provider.

Rather than fight with these idiots, I am trying to wear the aligners during the day, but right now the side of my tongue is so sore that I can't even eat. Very dissatisfied. I would strongly recommend going with a different company.
